### 3/5 — Buggy and not updated

*2021-04-22, version 2.1.2*

Variable as to whether graphics are pixelated or not, and buggy.

### 4/5 — great but equalizer

*2019-04-18, version 2.1.2*

EQUALIZER PLEASEEE AND ILL GIVE 5 STARS !

### 4/5 — Good

*2018-10-23, version 2.0.0*

Good player

### 4/5 — Very good

*2018-09-07, version 1.11.1*

Recommend it

### 5/5 — Perfect companion for chord poly

*2018-05-20, version 1.9.1*

This is the best DLNA player. Plus, it works well with chord poly, in particularly for browsing and playing songs stored on poly’s micro sd card.

### 5/5 — It works

*2018-05-16, version 1.9.1*

A simple looking app that does DLNA right

### 3/5 — Great Idea

*2018-05-05, version 1.9.1*

This is a clever music player allowing automatic access to the highest resolution source of your songs. If you’re connected to a network with uncompressed files, Glider will play those instead of compressed files on your device (or great for streaming to a Hifi system). Has a nice UI also that makes more sense than iTunes. Library management unfortunately needs work. Syncing not reliable and the Glider library gets wonky.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! Please send us an email at support@gliderudio.com so we can get your sync issues straightened out.

### 5/5 — Works well with Chord Mojo/Poly!

*2018-04-20, version 1.9.1*

I’ve spent quite a while attempting to get DSDs to properly play from the microSD card on the Chord Poly. Glider was able to see the Poly via DLNA and properly initiate the DSD playback!

### 5/5 — Missing basic functionality but it’s a very good player

*2018-04-17, version 1.9.0*

The program is top quality but lacks the most basic features like repeat. It’s like buying a Porsche and finding out it’s missing turn signals. Sure you can just stick your hand out the window and give them or just change without letting others know but still it would be nice to be able to use this to listen to your favorite tune without having to hit rewind on every track you really enjoy. In my case I listen to relaxing sounds while I sleep. Now I gotta make a long playlist of the same track just to get it to do what other programs do with a single click. :(

Update: I received a email stating that the feature is coming in an update. Looking forward to seeing the change!

**Developer response:** A repeat button is now available in the current version of Glider. Thanks again for your feedback!

### 5/5 — Absolutely REQUIRED for Chord Poly users

*2018-04-03, version 1.9.0*

This app is simply the best available to make the most of tour Chord Poly player. Period.

### 5/5 — Glider

*2018-03-16, version 1.8.1*

Thank you for this app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unstable and disappointing

*2021-07-06, version 2.1.2*

I was excited to see an app that can play over DLNA and offline, however this is practically unusable - will stop playing after one song until restarted.

### 1/5 — Slow and no DSD support

*2020-07-09, version 2.1.2*

Very slow playback for the next song. It takes about 6 to 10 seconds to play the next song on a WiFi 6 average 700 mbps network as confirmed by Iperf3 tests. Songs are hosted on Jriver Ver 25 DLNA server. Playback on IPhone 11 over 5gHz WiFi 6 connection. The only way to playback DSD files is to configure Jriver to auto convert files to a lower bitrate. Not recommended!!! 😣😖😫😩

### 1/5 — Can't upload files

*2019-03-28, version 2.1.2*

The point of getting this app was to play my pm 3 files music, that I have offline. Following instractions, was not able to add any files and play them. I would like to request money back, since it's not working.

### 1/5 — Cannot Play via DLNA

*2019-01-13, version 2.1.2*

App gives no ability to add files from a local DLNA server. Seems to find files on my old device but not an the new Xs.

On the old device, where it found files, the interface seems clunky. To get to settings have to traverse “back” through any folder selection.

Will update my review if/when it is able to be used on my new phone.

### 1/5 — Doesn't support family sharing like it claims

*2018-06-25, version 1.10.0*

I was looking for a better music player for my wife and thought this had potential (although a little pricey). I paid for the app because it said it supports family sharing. Downloaded on my iPad fine but when I put it on her phone it was the limited version. False advertising to say it supports family sharing.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your purchase and feedback. Please contact us at support@glideraudio.com so we can assist you further.

The advertisement of Family Sharing support is done by Apple, which we have no way of controlling. The Glider app itself does support Family Sharing, but that doesn’t help you much since the app is already free. Unfortunately In-App purchases made through any app cannot be shared using Family Sharing: https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht203046#iOS

### 2/5 — EQ??

*2020-03-10, version 2.1.2*

Just bought this for $9.99. No equalizer? Sound is horribly tinney and trebly

### 2/5 — Pretty, but very flawed

*2019-12-17, version 2.1.2*

Major competitor to 8 Player pro. Glider is much better looking and better integrated with iOS. BUT:
1. Erroneous indexing. App plays songs from the wrong folder.
2. Mismatching album art.
3. Defects 5 DLNA server when using chord poly. Confusing.
4. Disconnects more frequently than 8 Player pro.
5. Submitted improvement idea on their forum but didn’t hear back after 3 weeks. I hope they are working on the issues.

The biggest turndown is playing the wrong songs from the wrong folder. You had one job. One job !

How do I as for a refund ?

### 2/5 — Constant nagging for a paid app is absurd

*2019-06-03, version 2.1.2*

Stop nagging your users for a review. This is a paid app. I pay full price for apps so I don’t have to deal with the constant nagging and other nonsense.

Now for some re view comments, the metadata support is needs work. Not happy with it.

### 2/5 — Random crashes. Need to re-sync every time I use it. Sync doesn’t always work.

*2019-02-18, version 2.1.2*

I just don’t have many other options with the chord mojo. I can’t believe this is a paid app.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2017-12-29, version 1.6.1*

Loses contact daily with my media server. Only way to restore is delete app and reinstall. Needs more troubleshooting controls in app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Question

*2022-12-18, version 2.1.2*

Since there is no way to contact developer, this is a question, why iis only syncing 1.0k songs, please help on what to do to sync my whole collection about 1Tb.
If I can do that this app is the best 5 stars

### 5/5 — the one and only ❤️

*2020-09-04, version 2.1.2*

thank you so much for releasing this app! it works great with my Synology NAS and Astel & Kern Kann.

### 5/5 — Excellent for casting Apple Music to TV

*2020-05-11, version 2.1.2*

If your looking for a way to cast your apple music library to your tv, seek no further, this app is what you want. I spent hours researching how to play and cast my iPhones music through Chromecast to my tv. Sounds like a simple task right? Well with apple, nothing is easy. Then I found this app. This is exactly what i was looking for. It syncs your entire apple music library and then you can cast with no issues. Love this app, highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Well done!

*2019-04-26, version 2.1.2*

I was up and running in no time connecting to Serviio on my Mac. Great looking, fluid app and works quickly when looking for songs and playing them. Also impressed with how the app displays cover art and updates it accordingly when I change it in my server.

If I could add a feature or two, it would be a favorites option (which I guess can be achieved using playlists), and maybe a home menu selection that displays random music to listen to on any given day.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2018-11-22, version 2.1.0*

Streams from NAS perfectly

### 5/5 — The best MPD app for iPhone

*2018-10-16, version 2.0.0*

I use MPD for my home audio setup as well as mobile listening with the Chord Poly. After downloading and trying to use a number of MPD apps and getting somewhat disappointed, I finally found Glider, which is as far as I know, currently both the most reliable player and the best designed UI (so sleek and fun to use)of all the options currently on the App Store. Joe is a very responsive developer — he runs a community forum for Glider users’ suggestions and observations, and has worked with me directly over email to iron out kinks and take feedback. I really appreciate this app and the developer’s ongoing work to make it better — it is now less buggy than ever and scrobbles seamlessly to Last.fm. Long story short this is a great app if you use MPD and want to incorporate your iPhone into your setup. It’s definitely worth the price.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2018-10-13, version 2.0.0*

Love being able to send FLAC via AirPlay to an Airport Express or via DLNA to my AVR.

The new album playback mode and recently added features put it over the top. Great gear!

### 5/5 — Best app for album listeners!

*2018-09-19, version 1.11.1*

Awesome visual selection app with large album art images to scroll through. Far better than the competitors I tried. Two other huge advantages over other HD music capable apps- the volume control has much more range than others and the developer has been incredibly responsive every time I posed a support question!

### 5/5 — Great app with immediate fixes!

*2018-09-13, version 1.11.1*

I tried all the top apps for streaming FLAC files to my Chromecast audio from my media server. This is the best by far, rock solid. I did find a few errant actions, and when I let the developer know he sent me a new build the next day. This has happened twice so far. He listens and fixes! Can’t ask for better support.

### 5/5 — Perfect for Poly

*2018-06-15, version 1.10.0*

I’d never had to deal with DLNA until I purchased a Chord Poly + Mojo, which to my ears sounds significantly better when playing off the internal microSD card rather than streaming, like a veil has been lifted off the sound — but that requires DLNA. I wasn’t particularly excited about the apps on offer until Glider came along. I really appreciate Glider’s lovely Apple-esque aesthetics and design and the way it integrates lock-screen control on the iPhone. I started using the app early in the development process and was impressed by the developer’s commitment to improvements and the helpful and quick responses to tech support questions. There has been a learning curve for me in getting playlists to work and dealing with network issues at home and out in the world, but these are more to do with the finicky quirks of DLNA and Poly than with Glider. I’ve had best results when I’ve made sure to close any other sound-playing apps on the iPhone that are Airplay capable first and wait 20-30 seconds before opening Glider, presumably so it gets priority access to the Poly. I’m grateful to have this app and recommend it.
