They both crash. Please address this. Thank you. ### 3/5 — Terrific App when iOS is compatible *2022-12-19* This digital widget can really surprise you with fresh decimated sounds and it simply could not be easier to use. Just start hitting the buttons and dragging the slider and sound data window and BOOM you have a whole new bag. Some reviews have said you can’t use custom sounds with weird non-bar lengths…but I have NOT had that problem! The problem I DO HAVE is that the app no longer works…it just opens and then closes. I see it in apps-running but the screen doesn’t stick to the active window. I tried reinstalling but no dice. It’s been like this for a while…I would hold off buying until this is resolved. ### 3/5 — Issues *2020-05-02* Hey, first off I want to say I really like this app, there’s currently nothing else i can find that’s fun and easy to use that allows for such expressive and fun looping and glitching. I’m having an impossible time trying to import my own audio though, anything I copy in through the pasteboard just ends up coming out as white noise. I even wound up additionally buying AudioShare hoping that would work, but still no avail. It’s great and fun with the presets, but I just can’t find any way to make my own audio work. However, since it doesn’t receive transport controls, like start/stop, it’s really tough to fit it into my workflow. Would be great if it would start at the same time as Audiobus or whatever is hosting it, like AUM/BM3/Cubasis/etc. **Developer response:** Thank you for the review, and I am happy to add that I am adding the ability to receive transport controls. It will be available soon in an update. ### 2/5 — It's not good *2017-01-09, version 1.43* This is a bad way to make music, frankly. Can it add "glitch" to audio? Yes. Is it a good tool? Not really. ### 2/5 — Please fix app - really want to give it 5 stars *2017-01-06* This app has great ideas and is fun to play with - when it works. I have noticed several bugs which I will document here. Firstly, the app plays much better on my iPhone 6 than on the iPad mini 2. Both are running iOS 10. There is an issue when playing on the iPad mini 2 where the sample stops snapping back to real time upon releasing the glitch, cut or loop mod breaks. Workaround is to immediately press the target icon. It is frustrating when the sample suddenly starts continuing from the part you stopped breaking at instead of snapping back in time to where you would be if you hadn't breaked. Secondly, and I've noticed this only once or twice with the iPhone 6 but it's really bad on the iPad mini 2, the Cut 1/2/3/4 button should only be lit when the Cut break is active. Sometimes it gets mixed up and it is unlit when active, lit when inactive and so forth. Thirdly, and it seems like this would be the easiest thing to fix, the Cut editor!! It would be really cool if it worked! The manual says you can "swipe up or down" to change the 1/16th beat it cuts to on the step which is lit, but no swiping action can change the zero value (on iPad or iPhone). More frustrating: only on iPhone do I see a + or - button above and below each digit, so the first time I open the Cut Editor I can try changing the values, but once I save to a Cut or press back, the + and - buttons disappear, only reappearing after rebooting the app. Worse yet, the cuts aren't even saved properly. No matter what I change it to, it always goes back to zero. So the only cuts I can create have all zero values and go back to the first beat again & again. 😫. I would easily give this app 5 stars if it functioned as it should, even with the occasional freezing audio (when doing Glitch 12/3/4 breaks on the iPad mini 2). It's just that cool and fun to play! If it was functional this app would be worth 5x its price tag. I'm really hoping the developer reads this and, at the very least, fixes the Cut Editor. There's no contact info on the GlitchBreaks website. ### 4/5 — ヤバい *2016-04-10* サンプルを適当に並べてポチポチ遊ぶのも良し、他アプリから音源取ってきてエフェクターかけてイカれた音作るのも良しでめちゃくちゃ楽しいです。 ただ、バグとクラッシュが多いかなーと ### 5/5 — THANK YOU FOR THIS IOS HIDDEN GEM!!! *2015-12-27* (Audiobus not working iPhone 5 latest os, but I'm sure it will be fixed soon)This is an amazing tool for mangling breaks (and other audio), import even allows me to vastly alter synth drum loops I've made myself in apps such as seekbeats / elastic drums (and field recordings I've manipulated into loops in other apps), this is a highly expressive audio manipulation tool that allows me to be very creative, nothing like this exists on the iPhone, this is literally God sent, THANK YOU TO THE DEVELOPER !!! ### 5/5 — LEARNED TO LOVE *2015-07-12* I was originally quite disappointed with this app. However I've now spent literally ages fiddling around with & have pulled a few gems out of it. I would love to see a multi screen user interface, maybe similar to how the Akai i-mpc operates where by you slide from screen to screen on the fly. It would also be nice to a have an ambient record mode so you could record your own sounds in to glitch & grind. It's great. Maybe a little specialist, but great. 5 stars. ------- There's nothing technically wrong with it, simple enough and a good interface. It just doesn't really do much except stutter edit drum loops (one at a time). You can't play the 4 loops simultaneously, so it's not much use to me. It's a bit misleading, and I'll never use it beyond the 10 minutes I just wasted trying to get it to do anything in time, or musical. Here it is, my imagination and dreams materialized. I haven't gotten deep into it yet but the simple fact that these functions have come together and been laid out like they are is magic to me. I mean humans must be intellectually interconnected by means yet to be even pondered apone much less explained.even if I find it doesn't work I will wait patiently for the developer to work it out- heck, I'll even get a 2nd job to help finance the time it might take to fix bugs if they should arise - haven't had any problems yet. I feel giddy and ridiculous. Peace ### 5/5 — Awesome app *2015-04-02* I guess considering that I like to create trip hop (60-90bpm) I have come to this app for my rhythmic needs and FX. I haven't used all of the library of sounds, but what I can get this thing to produce through GarageBand makes for amazing dynamic contrast and awesome ambience. I highly recommend this app for random glitch making and ambient drum tracks. ### 5/5 — I'll delete iOS before I delete this app *2015-03-24* As a hobbyist drummer, this app is great fun and really satisfying. Doesn't take long to figure out the basics. I know I haven't explored all features, yet, but I'll probably delve deeper in time. You don't need to be a drummer or play any instrument to have fun with this app. It's a great tool to explore various aspects of rhythm, tempo and syncopation. But so flawed & unfixed *2014-07-10* There's nothing "dangerously high" about the memory. Please fix the issue. I just loaded four sounds taking ten minutes. As soon as I'm done, there's the most frequent message from Glitchbreaks above. Yes, maybe three years ago on an iPad 1 maybe. On a iPad mini retina that frequently runs 12 to 15 apps and I'm only running 1 right now? Please fix the issue. Upsetting. It's a good app to do remixing on but if it gets under your skin then it's really frustrating. Unique performance app. Great features and functions. Automation is cool too. Only downside is that it kicks out the four current samples and reverts to original sounds when it thinks the iPad is running low on memory. I'm using retina with no other apps running so it's a bit frustrating sometimes. There's no other app that comes even close to Glitchbreaks for unique glitch performance. Big props but no props on the old message to. I've tried it on several different devices, and it always crashes. All my devices are iOS 6. Hopefully an update will fix this problem soon. ### 1/5 — Crash! *2012-07-06, version 1.03* The app crashes. iPad 2 with nothing else running. The 10 seconds it runs before the crash sound somewhat cool. It seems like as soon as I put three fingers on the screen to glitch up a sound it instantly crashes. waste of money until this is fixed. Stay away from this app. ### 1/5 — Great for amatures *2012-04-28, version 1.0* If you wish to use this app as an quality application, good luck. I tried audiopaste (there's no itunes easy import feature) and it just crashes and doesn't even allow me to properly set the bpm. I spent several hours working up some custom loops for use in a live show, but this wouldn't properly load it and kept crashing. Waste of time and money. ### 2/5 — White noise *2021-01-11* Imported audio files become white noise. No support available. Quite fun if you just want to scramble samples that other people have made... **Developer response:** The imported samples must be 16bit, please check that the audio file is a 16bit 44.1khz audio file before copying it to the pasteboard. It’s not really the best format on a phone for it and it is recommended to use on an iPad. LOVE this app. Thank you for creating it. For years, I was wondering what in the world happened to one of my favorite musicians…. Turns out he went and started creating music production software for the masses. Woo!! The only negative (format) thing I can say about it is that trying to open the manual just opens a blank/white page. No ‘404’ no redirects…. No text…. Nothing. Checking out glitchbreaks.com just says it’s under construction. Is there some way that we can get the manual? Is it getting updated? I’d love to really figure out how to use this thing because while trial and error can be fun, I usually wind up missing a TON of stuff, and then I’ll have all these convoluted workarounds for really simple stuff. 🤷🏻 Anyway…. GREAT app (from what I can tell…hehe). This does a cut up method that seems difficult to find - whenever you hit one pad or another it can immediately cut over to that other sample at the same point In playback as the original pad, if that makes any sense... Anyway that's extremely useful for people into glitchy music.
