## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.10.0 — 2026-05-22

We're now Global Avy — same app, new name and icon reflecting our worldwide avalanche forecast coverage.

• New icon based on the international avalanche danger-scale diamond
• Hierarchical location browser — browse by region
• Rogers Pass split into North and South forecast zones
• Improved push notification reliability
• SPAW degraded-mode fallback for offline scenarios
• NSE diagnostic logging for iOS push troubleshooting

### 1.5.0 — 2026-04-21

What's New in 1.3.1

Everything since 1.0.13, consolidated.

FORECASTS

- Avalanche Canada support — 20+ Canadian forecast zones with confidence ratings, terrain advice, and avalanche problem details alongside the existing CAIC coverage.
- "Spring Conditions" shown as a first-class danger level for Canadian forecasts.
- Special Public Avalanche Warnings (SPAWs) from Avalanche Canada delivered alongside regular forecasts.
- Regional discussions and special products (watches, warnings, advisories) for CAIC forecasts.
- National Weather Service forecast shown alongside avalanche danger for each location.
- Forecast agency attribution in the detail view.

LOCATIONS

- Canadian location presets — Marmot Basin, Bugaboo Spire, Rogers Pass, Glacier Circle Cabin, Kingsbury Hut, and more — grouped by region.
- Add locations anywhere within provider coverage. No longer Colorado-only.
- Place-name suggestions powered by OpenStreetMap when adding custom locations.
- Filter the location list by danger level.
- Multiple saved locations with independent notification settings.

PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

- Real-time alerts when a new forecast is published for any of your locations.
- Notification content includes the danger level and summary so you see key info before opening the app.
- Tap a notification to deep-link directly to the relevant forecast.
- Notification permission prompt only appears after you explicitly opt in from settings — no first-launch pop-up.

OFFLINE & RELIABILITY

- Last-seen forecasts remain available without a signal. Cache retention is tuned for backcountry use — stale data is better than no data at a trailhead.
- Smarter change detection avoids duplicate notifications for unchanged content.

UI FIXES

- Add Location page header renders correctly, and danger-level filter buttons have better contrast.
- Back button behaves correctly on the Edit Location and Disclaimer pages.
- Notification banner: multi-line text wraps, embedded links are tappable, dark-mode colors fixed.
- Debug page loads quickly (log rendering deferred until needed).

PRIVACY

- Opt-out toggles for usage analytics and crash reporting in Settings.
- Privacy policy updated to cover push notifications, analytics, and data providers.

KNOWN LIMITATION

- The "Spring Conditions" icon is intentionally omitted in this build pending licensing clarification; you'll see a default icon next to the label. Functionality is unaffected.
