If you’re not using this app from the very start it can be tricky to retrospectively add the info into the app as required, particularly tracking Sanctuary gold donations. 2. Always signs me out after an app update. Not the end of the world just would be a good QoL improvement for it not to do that. Wonderful app otherwise, wouldn’t want to do our campaign without it at this point! ### 2/5 — Clunky and Unintuitive *2023-04-04, version 4.7.11* I think this app probably works best if you have it when you very first start Gloomhaven. Unfortunately, we have just completed our first retirement and trying to enter previous progress into the the app and it is unintuitive, maybe doesn’t even work. For example, trying to assign gold to the sanctuary - I can only add 10 for my retired characters or take it away. Can’t seem to add any more. And I accidentally added 10 for my current character and can’t seem to remove it. Locations - able to add ones as discovered but can’t see to mark some as done or blocked. I think if you are using the app from the very start it will probably build up the picture as you proceed but trying to retrospectively update progress is awkward, May not even be possible. ### 4/5 — Good app *2023-03-31, version 4.7.11* Good app for tracking characters and party progress in gloomhaven, however im not sure if this is a bug or not, but my group completed the arcane library (scenario #67) which rewards you with the Power Core item ( which goes to the shop)…. However when i go to the shop to buy* it for a character it is NOT listed. I get stuck on a loading graphic when I try to subscribe. Also, it doesn’t say how much a subscription costs. ### 2/5 — Unfortunately broken *2022-12-29, version 4.7.2* I decided to use this to finish out JOTL as I heard using app companions for Gloomhaven makes them much quicker to play. I like how much info you can enter about your party, characters, unlocked items, city events, but the one thing I absolutely need to work in this app--the combat--seems to be completely broken. I added the necessary enemies and all, but drawing monster ability cards gives me empty squares. Doesn't make much sense. That's where all the fiddliness is at in this game, so it really needs to work or there's no reason to use the app. Also, there's no way to subscribe to get more features. I tap to attempt to do so and it just spins. I end up having to reboot the app. Unfortunately, in its current state, this app is almost useless except to keep track of the things that would normally be written on paper. ### 5/5 — Awesome & Essential! *2022-08-23, version 4.6.7* Awesome app! Have been playing a solo campaign in GH for about 6 months or so now (on and off). Having created over 6 characters in a party, played over 20 scenarios, this app is absolutely amazing at keeping track of the progress and things unlocked in the game. I use the app interchangeably between my iPhone and iPad and it had been a very smooth experience. I only ever had one small glitch (not detrimental to my game experience) that was quickly resolved by support! All in all, an essential companion app to Gloomhaven and the future Frosthaven games. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — iPhone and iPad play and tracking is so different it’s frustrating. *2026-03-29, version 5.0.4* Forgot my iPad so we tried on the iPhone but it doesn’t complete the character or add characters the the level so you can get scenario levels like the iPad. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-03-09, version 5.0.4* Maybe the app isn’t maintained any more? But I tried to set up a new game of GH 2e and couldn’t do anything other than name the players and pick their classes. Everything else was non-responsive or blank.
