My current streak is 1,362 consecutive days and you removed all the prayers, stories, daily walks with God, music and a lot of beautiful things that I had access to. It’s frustrating to see the promotion every time I open the app. Users should have the option to dismiss or opt out of promotions for products they don’t want. I opened it this morning and saw an ad for the Glorify Ring. It feels like such a gimmick. A lot of the things that they advertise its use for, can be done on the phone in a voice notes app (recording a prayer or sermon, reminders for devotional). Nudging a friend? Send a text or call if led, if you’re praying for someone!! This feels so dystopian to create a “need” for things that doesn’t exist. Every morning I’d listen to the devotionals with my kids because, as a busy mom, I don’t always have time to sit down and read everything. The audio teaching was what made this app so special. Now I can’t even listen to the daily devotional without paying. It feels like almost everything meaningful has been locked behind a paywall. Charging $70 a year or $10 a month for a devotional app feels excessive, especially when the content used to be freely available. And the cherry on top? A waitlist of 29,000+ people hoping someone else will pay for their subscription. That should probably tell you something. It’s disappointing because this app used to feel like it was about making God’s Word accessible to everyone. The Narrators voice I find to be very therapeutic . This App keeps me focused on Gods word and the wonderful role that I’ve been created for a purpose in Gods Grand Redemption plan to restore the world . I truly recommend this app for everyone who’s looking to grow in their spiritual journey. I wouldn’t know a day without it.
