## What is GLP Companion?

GLP Companion logs your GLP-1 doses and effects, and estimates how much medication is in your body.

I'm Karl. I take a GLP-1 medication myself, and I built GLP Companion because I wanted something simple for tracking my medication and my progress. I wanted other people on these medications to have it too.

The curve
Home draws your dose history as an estimate of the medication in your body, in milligrams or as a percentage of the steady-state peak for the schedule you're on. The estimate is arithmetic on published population averages for your medication, not a measurement of your body.

Doses
Choose a built-in medication or set up your own, then enter each dose in milligrams, or in syringe units with your vial's concentration. Tablets are logged in milligrams, and an injection can carry a site, picked from a list or on a body map.

Effects
Log side effects and positive effects, each with a severity and a note. They appear as a colored mark under the curve on the day they happened.

History
History lists every dose and effect by week, in the terms you entered it, such as "17 units · 15 mg/mL" or "25 mg tablet". Tap an entry to edit it, or select several to delete them.

Insights
Insights opens on This week, a summary of the last seven days, then four screens of cards (Medication, Effects, Body and Activity) over any range you pick. Each card counts your own entries, like how long you were on each dose level, and makes no claim about cause.

Progress and photos
Progress keeps measurements such as weight, waist or body fat, or one you name yourself, as dated figures and a chart. Photos stay in the app, never in your photo library, with location data removed and Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode in front of them.

Apple Health
With your permission, Progress reads weight, body fat, waist and lean body mass from Apple Health, and the daily totals Health keeps for nutrition, activity and sleep. Every type has its own switch, and the app reads from Health but never writes to it.

Widgets
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show the current estimate and how long ago your last dose was. The medication's name appears on them only if you turn it on.

Shortcuts and Siri
Siri, the Shortcuts app and the Action button can log a dose or an effect, and tell you the current estimate and when your last dose was. On iOS 18 and later, a New dose control opens the dose sheet from Control Center or the Lock Screen.

Supply
Settings › Supply records the vial, pen or pack you're using and subtracts the doses logged since you opened it from what the label says. It works only from your log, so it can't see priming, overfill or a dose that wasn't logged.

Export
Export your log as JSON or CSV, or a PDF of what the app shows for any range, and share it wherever you choose.

Sync and privacy
There's no account, no ads and no analytics, and your data never reaches a server of ours. iCloud sync is off until you turn it on; then your records go to your own private iCloud database, end-to-end encrypted, with photos on a separate switch.

Free and Plus
Home and its widgets, dose and effect logging, reminders, History, Supply, Shortcuts, export and This week in Insights are free and stay free. GLP Companion Plus adds the rest of Insights, all of Progress (measurements, Apple Health and photos) and iCloud sync, monthly or yearly with a 14-day free trial; if it lapses, everything you logged stays readable.

GLP Companion is a log and a calculator. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it never tells you what dose to take, when to take it, or whether something you felt matters. Follow your prescriber's directions, and ask them or your pharmacist about anything that concerns you. Not intended for anyone under 18.

## Frequently asked questions about GLP Companion

### What is GLP Companion?

GLP Companion is a health and fitness app designed to help users track their GLP-1 medication doses, log any associated effects, and monitor their progress over time. It provides estimates of medication levels in the body and integrates with Apple Health for seamless data syncing.

### How does GLP Companion estimate medication levels?

The app uses arithmetic on published population averages for your specific GLP-1 medication to estimate the amount of medication in your body. This estimate is presented in milligrams or as a percentage of the steady-state peak for your current dosage schedule.

### Can GLP Companion track side effects?

Yes, GLP Companion allows you to log both side effects and positive effects experienced from your medication. You can assign a severity level and add notes for each logged effect, which will be visually represented on your dose history curve.

### Does GLP Companion support Apple Health integration?

Yes, with your permission, GLP Companion can read weight, body fat, waist, and lean body mass data from Apple Health. It also reads daily totals for nutrition, activity, and sleep, but it never writes data back to Apple Health.

### How is my data protected in GLP Companion?

Your data is kept private within the app. There are no accounts, ads, or analytics, and your data does not reach any external servers. iCloud sync is optional and only enabled when you turn it on, syncing to your personal iCloud.

Yes, you can export your logged data in JSON or CSV formats. Additionally, you can generate a PDF of the app's displayed information for any selected date range, which can then be shared as needed.

### Does GLP Companion have ads?

No, GLP Companion is ad-free. The developer has stated that there are no ads within the application, ensuring an uninterrupted user experience.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-01

• Goals, in Settings. Set your own numbers for weight, waist, calories, protein (grams a day, or per kilogram or pound of body weight), fiber, water, steps, active energy, exercise and sleep. Each goal is drawn as a labeled line on that measurement's charts. A weight or waist goal outside the chart's range is named under the chart instead. The app never suggests a goal or measures your log against it. Part of GLP Companion Plus.

• With iCloud sync on, your goals sync to your other devices with the rest of your records.

• Export data includes your goals in the JSON file when the switch for their type is on. Delete all data deletes them too and lists them with the rest.

• Fix: in the PDF report, each dose's dot now sits on the estimated curve. Over longer ranges the curve could pass above it.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-30

• Redeem code. Offer codes can be redeemed from the paywall, beside Restore purchases, and under Settings › Subscription. Apple's own sheet shows what a code gives you.

• Home's mg / % toggle moved into the chart card, which leaves room for the chart to sit clear of the New dose and New effect buttons. On iPhone SE the chart scrolls clear of them instead.

• History's dose rows lead with the mg. A dose entered in syringe units also shows the units and concentration you entered.

• Side effects and positive effects each have one glyph and one color throughout the app. Severity is written as a word; only the marks under Home's chart still show it as a color.

• Insights card titles are now the section's glyph in its color beside a plain title, and section headers are plain text.

• Fixes: the last chip in a row that scrolls sideways, on Progress and in Insights › Effects, is no longer cut off; and Home's day callout wraps long effect names instead of cutting them off.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-25

• Siri and Shortcuts. Log a dose or an effect, or ask for the estimated mg in your body and when your last dose was, from Siri, the Shortcuts app or the Action button. A dose is logged in the terms you give it, with no default amount. Free.

• On iOS 18 and later, a New dose control in Control Center or on the Lock Screen opens the dose sheet.

• Injection sites on a body map. When you log a dose, the site row can show the eight sites on a figure instead of a list, with your left on the screen's left. A new Injection sites card under Insights › Medication shows how many doses in the range went to each site and when each was last used.

• Supply, in Settings. Record the vial, pen or pack you're using, and Supply shows what its label says, what the doses logged since you opened it account for, and the difference. Free.

• Export data has a switch for vials and packs.

• Fix: after a change of medication, the site list could show "last used" dates from the previous medication's doses. It now reads only the current medication's.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-24

• Export, under Settings › Your data. Export report (PDF) puts what the app shows for a range on paper — the doses logged, the estimated curve, the effects logged and your measurements — with a switch for each section and one for notes; Insights › Share opens it too. Export data writes what you logged as JSON or CSV, with a switch for each kind of record, and always as one file: several CSVs arrive together in one ZIP. Both are free.

• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show the estimate, in mg or as a percentage of peak as Home does, and how long ago your last dose was; the medium size draws the curve as well. They read a summary the app writes, so opening the app brings them up to date. The medication's name appears only if you switch it on in Settings › Widgets. Free, like Home.

• Progress has an Edit mode: select several records to delete the ones you entered, or hide the ones from Apple Health.

• The protein and activity charts in Insights draw a bar a day over 1M and 3M instead of one a week, with a 7-day average line, and each caption names the days it covers.

• Choose where each Apple Health type is read from: under Settings › Apple Health › Imported data types, every body measurement and nutrition type has a Sources row — All sources, or the apps and devices you tick. Leaving a source out removes what it wrote here, and adding it back brings that back. Nothing changes in Health.

• Select a day on a Nutrition & activity chart to see where its total came from: the app or device that wrote it, or how many sources Health added up.

• A Health entry you hide stays hidden on your other devices, and keeps its hide when you change a type's sources.

• Fixes: two German captions in Insights read wrongly; VoiceOver reads each count on the export screen as one item; and at the largest text sizes a Progress record puts its value under the date.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-21

• iPad. Home's chart takes the height of the window, Progress puts its chart beside its records, and the Insights rows sit two across.

• Apple Health imports more than body measurements: the totals Health already sums for a day — calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber and water; steps, active energy and exercise minutes; time asleep — now appear under Progress › Nutrition & activity. Every type has its own switch, and nothing is read for a switch that is off. The app still only reads, and never writes.

• Two new Insights screens, Body and Activity, and a redesigned overview: This week, then one row each for Medication, Effects, Body and Activity, each opening that section's cards.

• Every "This week" row is one fact, with a line under it saying what the figure is.

• The Effects section moved off amber and onto a rose, which reads more clearly against the cards.

• History has an Edit mode for deleting several entries at once.

• A hidden Apple Health entry now stays hidden on your other devices.

• Progress stays on the measurement you were looking at when you hide or delete an entry.

• The Add Dose sheet fits at the larger accessibility text sizes.

• Fixes: the one crash reported in 1.0, which could happen while photos were syncing over iCloud; an unreadable database now explains itself instead of failing at launch; the Home chart no longer redraws on every scrolled frame; and one weigh-in written by two Health apps is counted once rather than as a change in weight.
