### 2/5 — Poor venue guide

*2018-04-07, version 2.2.2*

The venue guide either isn’t working or needs updating. Not a single venue within a 20 mile radius of where I live... would be awesome if it worked well.

### 1/5 — Nice if it works

*2017-08-28, version 2.2.2*

Like most of the other reviews, it's rubbish if it doesn't work!

### 1/5 — Sort it out

*2017-08-18, version 2.2.2*

Used to be a very good app but now it just crashes all the time. Get the bug fixed please because when you have people with coeliac disease in the family this app is great assistance WHEN IT WORKS. Sending out emails to people asking why they are not using the app anymore just adds to the frustration

### 1/5 — Was a five star!

*2017-08-08, version 2.2.2*

Please please fix the app!! I have relied on this app as my saviour when out shopping but it keeps crashing on my iPhone 7! Argh!!

### 1/5 — Buyer's remorse

*2017-08-01, version 2.2.2*

This app is pretty useless if you don't have a £24/year subscription to the Coeliac UK website. I bought a subscription so that I could access all the features of the app and it's really disappointing. There are massive advertisements all over the place (£24 a year for adverts?!), it's really hard to find somewhere to eat, and the product finder only seems to list the really obvious gf items - i.e. The ones with gf all over the packaging.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2017-07-30, version 2.2.2*

Was a great app before but no longer works, very frustrating !!!!

### 2/5 — App won't open

*2017-07-27, version 2.2.2*

These past few weeks I am unable to open the app. It just freezes and then shuts down. Please can you fix this bug. It was a useful app when I was able to access it.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2017-07-03, version 2.2.2*

If they don't sort it out soon I'll have no choice but to cancel my monthly subscription.

### 2/5 — Now Crashing

*2017-06-30*

Worked well to start with(long time)
But now over the last few weeks it crashes just after opening.

### 2/5 — Useful, but why the ads?

*2017-06-29, version 2.2.2*

As a subscriber to Coeliac UK why am I seeing adverts, and why am I unable to pay extra to remove them? For a subscribed / premium service, I do not expect to see adverts.

### 1/5 — Needs updating

*2017-06-23, version 2.2.2*

The latest update won't even let me open the app. Needs looking at or what's the point of paying the yearly fee for access to the food bible

### 1/5 — Crashes!

*2017-06-23, version 2.2.2*

The information in the app is very useful WHEN you can get at it. But the app crashes all the time. Please get this fixed - this would be frustrating in a free app, but with a paid for service to be unavailable for this long, with no feedback from the provider/developer is unforgivable.

### 1/5 — Updates!!!!!!

*2017-06-18, version 2.2.2*

Was awesome till the latest update my girlfriend is coeliac & I need this app

### 1/5 — Update crashes

*2017-06-05, version 2.2.2*

Latest update doesn't work on my iPhone SE. Shame because it was really good before, very useful but now just won't work. Hopefully this will be mended soon.

### 1/5 — Update? Failure to open

*2017-05-29, version 2.2.2*

Since the latest update the app just keep crashing??

Really good app, very handy.

Would have given it stars but crash issue needs sorted!
😡

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2017-02-28, version 2.2.1*

It asks you to logging in all the time which is incredibly annoying when you are scanning some meals at the supermarket

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Finds hardly anything

*2022-10-30, version 3.0.7*

The “find a venue” option is hard to use and can’t find hardly anything.
Not very impress.

### 1/5 — Paid membership access only

*2021-10-17, version 3.0.7*

Really disappointed to find the only way to use this app is to pay for monthly membership. A real shame - something that could/should be really useful for finding GF is behind a pay wall. Can’t even get a free trial to see if there is anything in my area / see if it’s worth the price. Back to the other free GF food finder apps.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-07-01, version 3.0.7*

This app used to be ok, but now it doesn’t let me log in, it always says my login details are incorrect but they’re not!

### 1/5 — Why

*2019-04-06, version 3.0.2*

I don’t understand why you have changed this App so much. It’s now pretty much useless. Only any good if you want to eat out, not your everyday shopping checker which is what I need and use it for constantly. Wish I hadn’t updated the App now. What is the official Coeliac App that does the food scanning now then? Think I’ll have to cancel my subscription now and find a free scanner as this All is pointless :(

### 1/5 — Daniel

*2019-04-01, version 3.0.2*

Poor app, the previous version used to include product information so you could take it shopping, now with an update I loose the useful part of the app.

### 1/5 — Scanner gone..?

*2019-03-15, version 3.0.2*

Recently updated app... what a mistake! No food scanner anymore? The most important thing..!
Subscription cancelled

### 1/5 — This is Rubbish!

*2019-03-09, version 3.0.1*

Compared to the o this is just an advertising platform. No convenient functions all on the front page, no product database, no label scanner - very little functionality that could not be provided by Google maps. Seriously thinking of not renewing my subs this year.

4th and 5th words should be “old app”.

### 1/5 — Where’s the food you buy guide

*2019-03-08, version 3.0.1*

The new update is rubbish. Where’s the shop brought food guide? Most of the time you buy food from shops, not eat out.

### 1/5 — Rubbish App

*2018-03-31, version 2.2.2*

Why does this charity think it’s o.k. to charge people for find our information that will be useful to its members. I know a coeliac sufferer who I wish to buy an Easter Egg for but couldn’t find a list of products that were o.k. for them just this app was mentioned. Loaded it but doesn’t work useless you are a member.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2017-09-16, version 2.2.2*

Really awful app. Even though I've updated it, it constantly crashes and freezes. Please do something to fix it and it's completely unusable.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great update

*2019-03-05, version 3.0.1*

Easy to use venue guide and great additional info for eating and travel tips. Links back to their website for recommending venues and adding reviews

### 5/5 — So helpful

*2019-02-02, version 2.2.2*

Great for scanning bar codes to double check whether something is gluten free. Venue guide is also great to find somewhere nearby to eat out.

### 5/5 — Brilliant App

*2017-02-23, version 2.2.1*

Recently joined Coeliac UK as i've just been diagnosed. App is a very useful tool when finding food & places to eat. The tips are very helpful too.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2016-12-29, version 2.2.1*

Thank you

### 4/5 — Ad Free. 🙂

*2018-04-02, version 2.2.2*

Does the job

### 4/5 — Database works off-line - essential!

*2015-07-20, version 1.9*

This has turned the app into a usable one, now that the database can work off-line, for the Food Directory.

### 3/5 — Invaluable, but...

*2017-05-28, version 2.2.2*

This is excellent content wise, but having to login with full email address and password every time you open it to scan an item in a busy supermarket is a pain. How about a PIN, or even better, Touch ID? Thanks.

### 3/5 — Useful but needs refining

*2016-06-11, version 2.0*

In general this app is quite useful. However the search function needs revising so it can work better with what you enter and hence return a better targeted list of results. For example "M&M's" returns what you'd expect, but the app doesn't like "M&M" or "M&Ms" and gives hundreds of irrelevant items. One star lost on the review due to this.

The scanner doesn't always recognise items, even those that are present in the database. Another review star lost.

My biggest issue though is the screen hogging adverts that often cover up the search and scan buttons. These should be removed for members that are paying for membership (£24+ per annum), they are intrusive and ruin the experience. That final review star lost.

Could have been 5 out of 5, but as it is it only warrants 3 out of 5 I'm afraid.

### 3/5 — Helpful

*2016-05-12, version 1.9*

The app is really helpful, I'm currently waiting for test results to see whether I have CD or if it's gluten intolerance but either way it's being cut out of my diet, this app is really useful for that. However, it can be tricky to find your way around the app at first, I had to search extensively for the scan feature, nevertheless, the thing I find most cumbersome is that I'm paying for the membership yet I'm still getting ads on the app, I have no problem paying the fee but I don't like the fact that the apps are none negotiable... If it wasn't for those two points I'd definitely have given it 5*, and I will if it's changed :)

### 3/5 — Great info but

*2016-04-25, version 1.9*

The app is really useful but it is shocking that after paying for a membership fee, the app is still showing advertisements. This needs to be changed or the data should be free.
