## What is Glyphmint?

Glyphmint is an offline QR, Wi-Fi, contact, payment, event, and barcode studio built for people who need codes that look polished and survive real-world printing.

Build a code, style it, run a preflight check, export it, and keep a private on-device history without an account or developer backend.

CREATE MANY CODE TYPES
- Website QR codes with automatic https handling
- Wi-Fi join codes for WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP, open, and hidden networks
- vCard and MeCard contact codes
- Email, phone, SMS, plain text, map location, and calendar event QR codes
- SEPA payment and crypto payment payloads
- Code 128, Code 39, EAN, UPC, Aztec, and PDF417 barcode options

STYLE WITH SCAN CONFIDENCE
- Choose colors, module shapes, QR eye styles, gradients, and frames
- Add center glyphs for Wi-Fi, links, contacts, calendar events, payment codes, and more
- See live contrast, dark-on-light, quiet-zone, and logo recovery checks
- Repair low-contrast palettes with one tap

PREFLIGHT BEFORE YOU PRINT
- Preflight Lab rolls content validation, scan profile, payload density, export resolution, and sensitive payload reminders into one report
- QR capacity gauge estimates byte use and QR version from ISO/IEC 18004 byte-mode capacity tables
- Print Size Advisor estimates physical size and pixel targets for common use cases
- Bundled reference sheets help proof labels, posters, noisy surfaces, contrast choices, and barcode strips

EXPORT AND VERIFY
- Save high-resolution PNG images
- Share image files through the system share sheet
- Export QR codes as SVG for sharp print layouts
- Export PDF pages for quick proofing
- Copy generated images to the clipboard
- Scan and verify QR payloads in-app before sending a file to print

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Glyphmint works on device. It does not require an account, does not use analytics SDKs, and does not send generated payloads to a server. Camera access is used only when you choose Scan and Verify. Add-only Photos access is used only when you choose to save an image.

Glyphmint is made for real labels, signs, menus, flyers, inventory tags, contact cards, and Wi-Fi handoffs where a broken code is expensive and embarrassing.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1 — 2026-07-01

Glyphmint 2.1 adds a pro print-readiness upgrade:

- Preflight Lab checks payload quality, scan contrast, QR density, export resolution, and sensitive payload reminders before sharing or printing.
- Print reference kit includes bundled proof sheets for contrast, labels, posters, noisy surfaces, and barcode strip testing.
- The Create screen now exposes Preflight and Reference Kit actions directly.
- App Store screenshots and support copy now reflect the current interface.
- Additional tests cover the new preflight report and reference-kit coverage.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-06-24

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, plus small display fixes. iPhone is unchanged; still fully on-device.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-21

Glyphmint 2.0 — a big pro upgrade for beautiful, scannable codes, still 100% offline.

• Many more payload types: URL, text, email, SMS, phone, location, calendar event, vCard/MeCard contact, Wi-Fi, crypto, and SEPA payment.
• Advanced QR styling: gradients, custom eye shapes, and a center logo — with a live scannability check (contrast, quiet zone) that bumps error correction when needed.
• One-tap "Fix contrast" that keeps your code readable while preserving its look.
• Content validation: IBAN checksum, crypto-address shape, email/URL/phone sanity checks with plain-language advisories.
• Paste a code to edit: import an existing code back into editable fields to clone and restyle it.
• Batch generation, a saved history, 1D barcodes (Code128, EAN, UPC, Code39), CTA frames, and PNG/PDF/SVG export.

No account, no internet, no tracking — every code is generated on your device.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-16

Glyphmint 1.2

Three new features built around the question every code-maker asks right before printing: "Will this actually scan?"

• Scan & Verify — point your camera at a code you just made and Glyphmint tells you instantly whether it reads back correctly. Green badge = ready to print. A mismatch shows you both the expected and the scanned payload side by side so you can spot the difference. Available in the Create tab action bar and in every History detail sheet (QR codes only).

• Payload capacity gauge — a live bar under the preview shows exactly how full the QR code's data capacity is and which version (1–40) the code will use, based on the ISO 18004 byte-mode table for your current error-correction level. The bar turns amber at 65% full, red at 85%. No more "content too long" surprises after you've styled the code.

• Barcode character check — type a Code 128 barcode value and Glyphmint instantly highlights any character that can't be encoded (Code 128 supports 7-bit ASCII only). The indicator turns green when every character is valid, and names the specific bad characters so you know exactly what to remove.

No subscription. No tracking. Still $0.99.

### 1.1 — 2026-06-14

Glyphmint 1.1

Three new features that make the app genuinely more useful:

• Custom labels — give any saved code a name ("Shop window," "Event badge," "Guest Wi-Fi") so it's easy to find in History. Tap any history entry and edit the Label field.

• Print size advisor — before you print, find out exactly how large the code needs to be to scan reliably. Pick your print type (business card, flyer, poster, banner, table sign, packaging, or a custom distance) and the advisor applies the ISO 18004 10:1 rule to show you minimum and recommended sizes in centimetres, inches, and pixels at 300 DPI. Tap ··· in the Create tab to open it.

• Copy image to clipboard — paste your code straight into Canva, Keynote, Pages, Notes, or Messages without needing Photos access. Also available in every History detail sheet. A separate "Copy payload" button copies the raw encoded text (URL, vCard, Wi-Fi string, etc.).

No subscription. No tracking. Still $0.99.
