## What is Go! Be the Change?

The Go! app is the social media platform for anyone who wants to create, follow, support, or participate in any social cause, movement or club. 

Our participants not only will be able to share information about their causes, movements, or clubs they will also be able to create and track action lists that their followers can take to make real change and reach specific goals. Our platform is designed to put all the information you need to achieve any of these goals in one place. Go! allows users to interact with their peers and with social movements that matter to them and understand the purpose and end goals of each movement and without the hassle of tracking them on the web and on many social media outlets. Go! is a space where you can connect with other people with the same goals for your communities and support one another in achieving them. 

The Go! social network is two-pronged, featuring different Causes and Changemakers for users to subscribe to - Causes being large-scale movements and Changemakers being individual activists, the participants themselves. 

At Go!, we prefer the term Changemaker to user for two reasons. Firstly, we aim to be an ethical social media platform that grants our Changemakers the agency to create large-scale social change; we dislike the connotation of addiction that comes with the word ‘user’. While our platform is meant to be fun, intuitive, and most of all inspiring & motivating, we want to avoid the addictive and stressful culture surrounding the social media platforms that are most popular today. Secondly, the term ‘user’ is too passive. Our goal is to have every Go! participant take action for their favorite social movements and causes regularly and make change happen every day. That’s why we call our users Changemakers.

At Go! we believe that our participants should be in control of their data, Go! aims to build a platform where each participant can choose how they want to use their collected data gathered during the time they spend on the app. The more time they spend on Go!, the more positive impact they will make. Our Changemakers will be able to donate the value generated from their data and time spent on Go! to the cause, movement, or club of their choice. They will also have the choice to monetize their cause which will include sponsored posts on the forum and checklist forum to generate revenue for them, regardless of whether or not they choose to monetize their data. In a later version, our participants will choose if they want to exchange their data for goods or services offered on the platform.
