## What is Go Field Research?

Go Field Research is a free companion guide for POGO trainers: raids, trades, and your collection in one place.

See current raid bosses and the strongest counters from your own roster. Explore the attacker tier list and full type matchups. Host and join remote raid lobbies with Field Raids, with alerts when a lobby opens

Check a trade before you make it. Spot the hidden value in special trades. Appraise your roster for GBL ranking and best moves with a quick screenshot upload.

Track your living dex, shinies, lucky trades, and perfect IVs. Import your roster from a third party companion app file. Plan Mega Evolutions with cooldown reminders and a Home Screen widget

Go Field Research is an independent fan-made reference.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.31.2 — 2026-08-18

PvP Appraisal now guides you to the exact value that needs attention. If a scan cannot prove the Pokemon, form, Shadow status, CP, HP, or IVs, Review Values names that question and presents the relevant correction first. Confirming Altered or Origin Giratina—or another ambiguous form—keeps the CP, HP, IVs, and Shadow evidence the scan already read, then returns you to the completed result.

Verifying a scan is faster without sacrificing privacy. Focused crops show the Pokemon and CP, name and HP, and IV bars in a compact evidence layout, with the full screenshot one tap away. Apple Vision and the on-device reader use improved layout evidence for regional forms and Lucky appraisals, while bounded recognition prevents an uncertain scan from waiting indefinitely. Screenshot previews are discarded when the appraisal closes and are never uploaded or stored in PvP Logs.

Share cards now follow Light or Dark Mode and include a clearer battle plan: National Dex number, recommended fast and charged moves, move-type colors, Trainer Battle energy bars, Elite TM or Legacy availability, final evolution or form, and truthful league targets. Cinematic target artwork and simpler rank summaries reduce clutter, while compact chips identify the exact-IV analysis and current bundled PvP data. You can also share the current appraisal without saving a log first.

This patch also compacts the Stat Calculator, improves shiny-source accuracy without guessing at missing form history, refreshes PvP rankings, wraps Settings descriptions on narrow screens, and restores the visible More Raids chevron in Field Raids.

### 1.31.1 — 2026-08-09

PvP Appraisal now keeps a private, device-local history without retaining screenshots. Reopen completed scans, review exact Great, Ultra, and Master League ranks, include the logs in a manual backup, or create an attributed share card with league results and optional caught-location details. PvP Logs remain outside Device Sync, and appraisal images and extracted data are never uploaded.

On-device scanning is more dependable across forms and Shadow Pokemon. Apple Vision can use the appraisal's type row to distinguish forms such as Alolan Vulpix, improved aura checks reject more false Shadow detections, and uncertain results ask for confirmation instead of guessing. Evolution Outlook, Advisor verdicts, matchup sprites, and reviewed Pokemon artwork are easier to read at a glance.

Raid counters now consider legal boss moves, resistance, survival, faint windows, relobbies, weather, and group size. Field Raids loads live coordination only when needed, routes notification taps to the intended raid, prevents self-host alerts, keeps guest completion behind the host's recorded invitation, and makes more bosses discoverable in the raid picker. This update also restores reliable Raid Bosses startup, strengthens offline delivery, and keeps the What's New header below the iPhone status area.

### 1.31.0 — 2026-08-04

Raid rotations now update from a first-party calendar using each player's local time, so scheduled lineup changes do not have to wait for a delayed third-party data update.

Home Screen widgets have also received a complete refinement:

- GO Today has cleaner spacing and more reliable raid-form identity.
- Weather boosts now use compact type icons.
- Type Guide has larger interactive controls for cycling all 18 attack types.
- Effectiveness rows use icons that remain readable without clipped labels.
- Widget links open the exact raid, event, trainer, buddy, Mega, or type selected.
- Native startup and widget refresh behavior are more reliable.

Turn an appraisal screenshot into a practical PvP decision without sending the image to a server. On-device scanning reads the Pokemon, CP, HP, IV bars, level estimate, Shadow state, form, and eligible evolution family, with a focused Review view whenever a value needs confirmation.

The new Advisor compares each evolution independently across Great, Ultra, and Master League. It weighs exact IV quality, species strength, roster gaps, Shadow and Best Buddy options, investment cost, and league opportunity before recommending whether to build, hold, use temporarily, or skip. Complete plans bring optimal CP and level, rank quality, Stardust, Candy, XL Candy, evolution, second-move, buddy, and other requirements together.

This release also adds organized Settings drawers, accessibility and start-screen controls, safer backup and reset tools, weather-aware roster battle plans, protected raid rotations, richer Buddy friendship controls, and opt-in Shadow search.
