If you decide to look up something in maps and try to go back to the app(it was kept open), it will take you to the Home Screen. I have several people including myself and my kids in the app. My kids Jr licenses are showing under my name. My brother’s name/ID, is showing my tags and licenses….he hasn’t bought anything for this year yet. ### 4/5 — After the update *2022-09-08, version 1.4.0* I had to delete 3 times before all my tags and licenses loaded. I don’t like that the regs push you to the site it used to be all integrated into the app. Gets the job done. ### 2/5 — Needs work *2022-01-14, version 1.3.0* iPhone 13 Crashes. Won’t sync. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times. No luck. Great idea but not there. Finally was able to complete a purchase after multiple attempts. Spent a lot of time pressing buttons on my phone that did nothing. Kept saying I had zero items in my cart when I had five. At the end, gives you the option to print something, I'm not sure what because nothing would print. And, not directly related to the app, but why does fish and game charge convenience fees for on-line purchases? Isn't it more convenient for them? Are they trying to discouraged on-line purchases? And it's not a flat fee. It increases as you add items. Bizarre. One final observation... I wanted to purchase the elk card. Could you please put something on the card that actually looks like an elk. Fortunately the fish is good. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Frustrating Experience with this GoOutdoorsID App *2023-12-02, version 2023.218.1* I recently had an extremely frustrating experience with the Idaho GoOutdoorsID app while trying to purchase a hunting tag. The app's performance was abysmal, causing me to waste hours of my time and ultimately getting kicked out of the queue. But the worst part came when I finally reached the purchasing stage. After enduring extremely long wait times, the app suddenly kicked me out of the queue (when it was redirecting me to the site), forcing me to start the entire process from scratch. This not only wasted my valuable time but also left me feeling utterly disappointed and let down by the app's unreliability. Considering the importance of timely tag purchases for hunting enthusiasts like myself, this app's unreliability is simply unacceptable. It's disheartening to see how little consideration has been given to improving the app's performance and user interface, especially when technology has advanced significantly in recent years. I sincerely hope that the GoOutdoorsID developers takes this feedback seriously and invests in revamping their app to provide a smoother, more efficient experience. As it stands, the current version of the app is an exercise in frustration and wasted time. I will never use this app again when purchasing licenses and tags ### 1/5 — Poorly designed app *2023-12-02, version 2023.218.1* Ever since the app was implemented, it has bad glitches with severe consequences. Again, it was my turn to buy my tag. Plenty in the que. Then , it says it is“redirecting “ me to another page. I assume its to select and purchase my tag. Nope. I get kicked off and sent to the back of the line. No tag. Again. Happens to a lot of people. I dont even want to give it one star. ### 1/5 — DO NOT USE *2023-12-01, version 2023.218.1* DO NOT USE THIS APP to buy tags. Just do it on the GoOutdoors website or in person. I got a good spot in line this year, made it through the wait and all the way to the front. Got stuck on the part that says “thanks for waiting! You are being transferred to the purchasing page!” and instead it transferrred me alllllllll the way back to the end of the line and said “whoops, sorry about that. It’s been reported but please get back in line!” It took 3 more attempts to finally get in (yes I waited in line 3 more times because of the same problem). By the time I got in not a single tag was left and my Idaho season was ruined. I’m angry, but mostly at myself for believing a state-funded mobile app might actually work. Silly me. ### 1/5 — Amateur App Time *2023-04-01* Horrid app - everything we have come to expect from years of government service. Insists on biometric login or it cycles you back to log in multiple times. Well, Idaho Fish and Game, my biometric data is none of your damned business. Buy it, managed that after slogging through this recycled recycler several times - now I cannot print my licenses. Oh, I can see them, but print even a pdf? Noooooo…. They want $5 for a stupid (get this) “collectible” plastic card. Know what? I don’t want to collect a stupid card - I don’t want to even carry a stupid piece of paper. I have my phone, if one of your agents needs to see my license where there is no phone service (most of Idaho’s great outdoors) I want it on my phone where I don’t NEED internet access. Gad. It does not appear to be correctly submitting my account and login details when I try to add license. Luckily, husband has 1.3 still installed on his phone. That version found me, and added my license without issue. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2022-08-19, version 1.3.0* This app is hard to navigate wants your location no option to enter zip code can’t see draws makes you go to just the google one don’t recommended taking up any more space on your phone poor design. ### 2/5 — Update doesn’t work on IPad *2026-03-03, version 2026.246.0* Ipad 9th Generation, IPadOS 26.3, app opens then immediately closes. Yesterday worked well. Restarted IPad, removed and reinstalled app, still no joy. ### 2/5 — App is SLOW *2025-09-02, version 2025.240.0* Multiple attempts to submit information, only was successful once to pull up my license. This is on an Iphone.
