### 4/5 — Works pretty well

*2023-04-24, version 3.0*

I have had 3 of these over the course of 4-5 years. When they first came out they were insane, I could burn through 100pokeballs in minutes just cruising a parking lot. Things have changed since then it takes a few seconds per pokemon now so you have to be walking to clear out areas which is fine since I like to walk. The connectivity issues are kinda bad also now but I think that might be on niantics end not the gotchas. Iv noticed when I use it on walks it seems to stay connected longer then staying static around a bunch of stops. Walking or driving I can get it to stay connected for about 45min but when standing still it seems closer to 10. I still think it’s great I just turn my on every time I drive somewhere and it will spin stops as long as your below 35mph. I also like to take it on hikes so I’m not staring at my phone the whole time and can enjoy the walk. For me the catch rate has been around 33%. I never run out of poke balls or really any items anymore. I find myself deleting great balls and just keeping poke and ultras.

### 2/5 — I haven’t been able to connect gotcha to app for a year now

*2022-11-30, version 3.0*

Probably longer. I would love to see the number of mons it has caught and how many have flown the coup but I cannot get it to pass the “loading” screen on the app when the gotcha is plugged in. Confirm charging AND connect and Nothing. Is it unsupported now?

### 1/5 — Needs updating

*2022-10-31, version 3.0*

Won’t pair up or work in the game any more.

### 1/5 — Can’t update

*2022-09-29, version 3.0*

I can’t update my gotcha so it disconnects after 10 seconds. Device and app now useless.
The app only says connect, which is doesn’t even connect

### 2/5 — Update

*2022-09-26, version 3.0*

I have to re pair my gotcha to use it two or three times a week. With new iOS systems coming out regularly it would be nice to have a updated app. It’s frustrating to us as consumers of your products to constantly have issues

### 1/5 — Use to be good

*2022-09-13, version 3.0*

I loved my gotcha when I first got it. It did everything it said it would. Caught Pokémon and would spin stops so I could raid. Since the last update it no longer works. It will charge fine and cycle through all the screens but when I try to pair it with the app or the game it cycles for a second then shuts off. I thought maybe mine was defective so my friend gave me hers since she hardly ever uses it. It was paired with her phone and working fine then when she gave it to me and I tried to pair it with mine it started to cycle through every screen really quick. I’ve uninstalled the game and the gotcha app and neither will pair up again. Don’t buy this product, they don’t keep current with updates and there is no support. Just save your money or buy a different auto catcher.

### 3/5 — Decent so far

*2022-08-29, version 3.0*

Product is decent so far but I would like to see more features!
I would like to see a shiny focused feature/ option, specific Pokémon selection, something showing on the band like the normal device (color and selection for certain Pokémon), more indication of how the device is connecting to see issues, allowing you to click on a Pokémon and get into it (cancel the auto catch since it causes Pokémon to disappear off the map), and options to use other ball types or berries?
I also wish the band was easier to push the bracelet into.

So far decent, but honestly not sure it is worth it yet since it seems to lose most Pokémon for me and disconnects really fast.

### 2/5 — App is broken

*2022-08-13, version 3.0*

App crashes when touching the settings, they are not connecting well either.

### 2/5 — Didn’t help

*2022-07-19, version 3.0*

The screen on my device just stopped working and I tried the troubleshooting many times thought the app my help with and update but I couldn’t even connect it to the app. Another thing made to break thanks datel 😕

### 1/5 — No Longer Works

*2022-07-08, version 3.0*

Now this app just spins on the main screen, although the Go-tcha itself shows that it connected. Until/unless it's fixed, there's no way to change certain settings on the device like turning off the display during catching.

### 1/5 — 3.0 is too minimalistic and does nothing

*2022-07-06, version 3.0*

The stats is gone which is a bummer
But now there’s no animation for the progress of firmware update, and I have not been able to update the firmware, despite there’s animation for update on the go-tcha

### 1/5 — Save yourself

*2022-07-04, version 3.0*

Save yourself the time on this product and app. Trust me.

### 1/5 — What once was good is now completely useless!

*2022-06-30, version 3.0*

I don’t even want to give this 1 star, worked fine until recently (updated) then my settings kept randomly changing and turning ‘catch pokies’ off, now I can’t even access the app to check and change my settings making my gotcha pretty much pointless!
It’s not an issue with my watch as it connects to the game and Bluetooth but will not connect to the app!
Please fix this!

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-08-02, version 3.0*

Doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Wants money?

*2025-12-29, version 3.0*

Why is it trying to charge me 12 dollars?

### 1/5 — Hi

*2024-08-30, version 3.0*

Please can you do me patch its broken.

### 1/5 — App no longer being updated??

*2023-03-21, version 3.0*

The app will not connect to my gotcha even tho I’ve disconnected and forgotten the device from my phone and pogo app. It says the last update was a year ago.. pretty sure there have been major iOS updates since then.. does this mean this app is no longer receiving updates?
Gotcha is working but there is latency where it takes a while for it to find anything to catch/spin that I was hoping to address.

### 1/5 — Crap App + Extra Crappy Device

*2023-01-27, version 3.0*

What an absolute waste of time and money, Datel has no support, their product is garbage.

### 1/5 — Won’t Connect

*2023-01-11, version 3.0*

It connects to go and spins stops - sometimes - but it doesn’t catch Pokémon anymore, and I can’t get it to connect to the app. I’ve tried it while plugged into the charger, while unplugged, nothing works since the new update.

### 1/5 — Connection problem

*2023-01-03, version 3.0*

Stuck on connect. I have the gotcha right next to it and it will not connect at all. Deleted and redownloaded and nothing!

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2022-12-28, version 3.0*

Barely works. Don’t Recommend.

### 1/5 — The app sucks

*2022-12-23, version 3.0*

This app is horrible. I got it to connect for a couple hours and then it stopped working altogether. Waste of money as I now have to return my Gotcha device.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2022-12-05, version 3.0*

Already tried pairing / forgetting the device . No longer connects to Go or this app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It's back yes!

*2026-07-01, version 3.0*

Works perfectly thank you

### 5/5 — Worked!!

*2024-10-01, version 3.0*

Got a new iPhone and had trouble connecting the Go-tcha Ranger to my Bluetooth. This worked perfectly on iOS 18.

### 5/5 — Clear browser cache

*2023-07-01, version 3.0*

My Go-tcha began defaulting to no spin, no catch upon startup. Was unable to connect to this app until I cleared Safari web browser cache, Go-tcha app was able to connect and I reset defaults. Datel needs to update FAQ with this fix.

### 5/5 — pls sell me urs

*2023-02-21, version 3.0*

honestly this has always worked like an absolute charm for me and I left mine at a hotel on vacation and they don’t seem to sell this one anymore and I bought the UK version like an idiot 🥹

### 5/5 — It kinda woks

*2022-12-14, version 3.0*

1. Install the app
2. Disconnect the watch from the Bluetooth
3. Remove the device from the Pokémon go setting. (If it’s connected in app)
4. Once the device is disconnected from Pokémon go settings. Turn on and connect the devices within the app.
5. If this did not work check YouTube for other methods.

### 5/5 — Working again

*2022-11-06, version 3.0*

Dunno if there was an update to Pokémon or this app…I’m removing my 1* and giving 5* because it is working.

### 5/5 — Updated and watch not working

*2022-09-24, version 3.0*

Hello, I’ve had no issue with my watch for almost yr until the first update I’ve received stoped my watch from working. Now it just flashes a connection symbol (like it needs to connect to the internet) and it also flashes a static screen . I’ve done the troubleshooting steps by plugging and unplugging 10 times, but no success

### 5/5 — Works SOOO good I could not stop using this

*2022-03-27, version 3.0*

Deez nuts

### 5/5 — How to use

*2022-03-11, version 3.0*

Once it is pared go to setting inside Pokémon go and under Pokémon go plus you should see additional devices. Press the power on the gotcha and it will show up in the app.

### 5/5 — To JayStarLRD

*2022-03-02, version 3.0*

You have to forget in Bluetooth the Pokémon device. Open your gotcha. Make sure you have WiFi connected. Tap connect on the gotcha app. Tap your gotcha immediately after so the app pairs with your gotcha. Let it update. It will take a few minutes. The gotcha will go blank when done. And guess what, your problem should be fully fixed. Now change your bad review. Never leave a bad review when you haven’t tried everything.
