Van in a poor state. Avoid and use GogetVan - seamless and would have used it if I had t lost my fob. ### 1/5 — Do not use!! *2023-08-15, version 1.3* Wish zero stars was an option. Look at all the other reviews, there’s a reason for the constant 1 star ratings. Horrible customer service, awful company. Use anyone but these guys. ### 1/5 — Don’t use. *2023-07-31, version 1.3* Listen to all the other reviews here. I used them the other day, only drove about 15kms total, put a few bucks fuel back in it and was charged over 75 dollars extra for fuelling? When I returned the vehicle it was parked on a hill and apparently the fuel gauge didn’t look as full. Also when I got to it, the car wouldn’t unlock or lock with the app so I had to call the company multiple times to get it sorted. The design of the app and emails are also clunky. Use another company is my suggestion. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2023-06-18, version 1.3* If you hire a Gecko vehicle, you will be forced to use this App, but they don’t tell you that until a father you have booked and paid for the non-refundable vehicle hire. Dreadful navigation in the App. Unnecessarily hard to use. A high school student could have made a better user interface. ### 1/5 — Video yourself fuelling vehicle *2023-02-02, version 1.3* Ensure you video yourself refuelling the vehicle, as well as obtain a receipt for refuel. A receipt alone is not enough if they determine the vehicle was not full. Based on what criteria? Remote pictures. So if your vehicles needle doesn’t hit the absolute max height, you must take a video of yourself refuelling and with audio to hear the click. You have been warned. I recommend other services where you have a human being to talk to at the time of pickup and return. ### 1/5 — Do not use!!!!! NO STARS *2022-09-28, version 1.3* The van we got was damaged, water leaked inside, boxes and a bookshelf got damaged, we destroyed blankets and sheets trying to mop up the water, the front cabin was not kept smoke free and had gotten into the air conditioning, there was duct tape on side of van, additional tape on front of van, back locks broken - its obvious minimal or no maintenance is performed on these vehicles and they run them into the ground. The inner damage had to patch it up with sealant as it was raining really heavy. Later when we complained about this we we're told it was impossible to have leakage even though we provided photos. Kimberley - National Operations Supervisor has made it clear that the experience of water leaking and our repair didn't happen and doesn't exist. So yeah, if you want all your stuff damaged and then to be gaslit by a horrible sales woman go with gecko. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2022-06-23, version 1.3* The app legit won’t even sign in. Keeps saying that my email doesn’t exist ### 1/5 — Worst rental company *2022-05-10, version 1.3* DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! These guys charged me $150 from my deposit(bond money) for fuel, when i picked up the vehicle it had half a tank, then when i dropped it off it has three quarter which is more than before, they charged me and the $50 saying they had to wash it when i only used it for about 2 hours Second time i booked and paid $400 for 5 days plus $200 for bond but then I took it back after 8 hours due to car shaking and choking, they sent the mechanic and said there’s nothing wrong with the car, and they wanted me to pay $150. They refused to give my money back when i returned their car because of this. So be careful with these guys. 😡😡😡😡 ### 1/5 — Scammers!! *2021-09-07, version 1.3* Do not use this service!! The charged me an extra $150 for cleaning fee?? After returning a spotless car no mess at all, then a $32 administration fee?? 100% scam! Don’t use this service, honestly, theses people are running a scam! Had to move house, booked the van a month in advance. It wasn’t remotely in the area I had selected. Van was unlocked, no keys and was full of other people’s stuff. They told me it had wrongly been allocated to me and there were no other vans available. Awful service, don’t bother just go with traditional hire. ### 1/5 — Do not ever rent their car! *2025-05-28, version 1.6* They rented me a car in terrible condition — the side mirror was broken, and the car was covered in scratches and dents. Later, they tried to charge me $1500, even though I never damaged the car. All the scratches were already there, but I didn’t manage to take photos as proof. They will do everything they can to scam you and use your money to fix their old car. Don’t rent from them. Then took 30 minutes before I was even able to access the app to show me the location of the Van. Then when I got to the van, I can’t even access it because the App is buggy. I don’t know why I ignored them… I rented a truck for an exorbitant price and was moved around three times before picking it up. Then when I got there, the truck was unavailable and they wanted me to drive 1.5 hours to pick it up despite deadlines for my moving day. They wouldn’t reimburse me fully for the inconvenience and were absolutely shocking with customer service. DON’T USE THEM!! (I went with Orana - perfect experience and half the price) ### 1/5 — Worst experience ever with a rental vehicle business. *2024-07-29, version 1.3* I booked online through the app. Pretty straightforward. Paid, as you do when you book. 1 hour before I was meant to collect the vehicle, a very nasty employee called me. Berated me that I couldn’t book with an interstate license, lectured me about the legality of it all. I simply asked for an immediate refund and she had a melt down. Yelling, swearing and all kinds of filth. They eventually refunded my money, 2 weeks later. NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. They should be closed down! ### 1/5 — Scam of a business. DO NOT BOOK! *2024-05-14, version 1.3* Absolute trash of a business. Do not trust and use anyone else but these guys. DO NOT BOOK! WARNING! Upon booking they charged me immediately $150 + $200 security deposit - but they never comtacted me for a week to confirm the booking. When I finally emailed them, they called me and pretended they tried calling me for a week when there was no call history. They then decided to change my booking to another location over 30 mins away - without warning, email or any comms. This pathetic customer service person “Sue” then proceeded to argue with me saying I was wrong with an arrogant attitude and that is the best she can do and I have to accept it. She then said I will get charged if I cancel, almost threatening me to not cancel or face losing that charge. Absolute audacity of this woman. I decided to cancel anyway since they don’t deserve my business. It then took another week for the funds to actually clear, again without any comms of what’s happening. I had to prod their support. ### 1/5 — Don’t use. *2024-05-04, version 1.3* Unresponsive, throws errors messages and you end up having to call support everytune. ### 1/5 — Can’t even book *2024-04-01, version 1.3* App is useless. Do what it asks for and worked fine.. used it a few times now. ### 5/5 — Not sure why everyone’s crying *2024-08-20, version 1.4* Literally did everything well, rented it out on time, got it back on time, charged $15 of fuel after my usage, got my bond back and I paid $500 for mine since I’m a P Plater and couldn’t go through Sixt. Had to take photos and everything. First time using a moving truck and had a great time. I was a bit worried about locating the van using the gps as it was apparently located in a ‘super centre’ which is spread across multiple car parks and two different buildings, and there is no indication what level it might have been on. But I guessed it might have been on rooftop parking and I was right, although some kind of written note about what level it’s parked on rather than just a symbol showing the location would have been more helpful. Drop off went smoothly. However would have been good if I could take additional photos rather than just the default front, back and sides showing more of the condition of the car like at the start of the hire, just to protect myself and the company.
