### 2/5 — Poor WiFi

*2026-08-04, version 4.4.0*

After trying other companies similar products, the frequency with how often the GZ Yeti disconnects from WiFi is unacceptable. I hope they bring a software fix for this problem. Otherwise, as a battery back up and power station for my house, is fantastic.

### 3/5 — Ehhh

*2026-06-05, version 4.4.0*

The app seems a little bit weak. It frequently loses connection to my YETI 1500. At which point I have to reactivate the pairing on my YETI to get the app to connect again.

### 2/5 — Loses my power station

*2026-04-28, version 4.4.0*

After a while, I started saying device disconnected. I closed and reopened the app, and it had unpaired the power station from my phone.

I have to get at the battery and push a button on it to re-pair. What is the point then? I could just use the battery control panel.

### 3/5 — All power NO COMMUNICATION

*2026-03-25, version 4.4.0*

We have been on the road for a bit more than 5000 miles over a one month period. We have just had a new Yeti 4000 Pro placed in our van after the first one did not allow for either Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity to the app.

On the positive side the electrical storage of the original (and this one day old) Yeti 4000 Pro has been quite good. It charges rapidly via 530 watts of solar on the roof and more slowly via shore power 110 A/C and pitifully slowly via alternator while driving on the road.

The inability of connecting with software/firmware for the past month has been a nuisance but mostly surmountable.

This inability to connect with the unit while away from the van has altered our activities. When we needed to leave our dogs in the van and were unable to monitor the condition of the system - including the temperature the lack of app functionality was a major problem.

Compounding this software communication issue was the challenge of getting direct answers from the company. This dropped ball of no or inadequate communication was repeated like a scene from the movie Groundhog Day.

Our initial attempt to communicate with the company (while we were in western New York state) was met with the response, “we turn our phones off at 2 pm Mountain time and we cannot call you after that”.

This would have been comical had we not been in sub-freezing temps and truly uncertain of what to expect of the battery system.

Only after I repeatedly expressed my dissatisfaction about unconscionable customer service did their communication about the problem - not providing any solution for the failed software- -other than “drive to Utah where we will install a new unit” occur.

The epitome of this “challenging” communication occurred just yesterday.

After being told the unit would be shipped from California to Utah “as fast as possible” one week ago, I received email of a FedEx tracking number and the fact that tracking number was not then active this past Friday.

Finally FedEx informed that the unit would arrive on Monday between 10 am and 2 pm.

I called GZ to ask to confirm the arrival on Monday and the fact that they would install it after testing it on Tuesday afternoon.

I was then told that “unless there was a significant issue”, I would get an email and not a phone call to confirm.

The good news was there was no call of a major problem.
However no email to confirm installation was sent either.

When we arrived at a rented warehouse of a different company’s name, the nice folks subletting space to
GZ helped direct us to the right spot.

Although the GZ tech is a nice guy, he knew nothing from his customer service dept about what was to be done.

As he is a patient and considerate guy, he listened intently to the Kafkaesque tale of the poor communication that his company displayed.

His take was basically that it didn’t surprise him.

Now to provide some CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM to the new owners of GZ, instead of more karen-like whining;

1) if you know of faulty software/firmware, do not sell or ship units.
This will cost $ upfront but do you REALLY want comments like this?

2) If you have a customer service department, please teach those folks to treat the customer as they might like to be treated.
Simply, when a call back or an email is requested, DO IT.
Never tell a customer that “we turn our phones off at 2 pm and we can’t call out after that”.

3) Keep in mind that these units are not a bag of popcorn costing $2. These units costs thousands of dollars. Please treat your customers like you are aware of that.

My jury is still out. The battery side of things seems to be great. Unless the software/firmware bugs are 100% resolved, this jury will not look favorably on this potentially excellent product.

I would sincerely like to see this company and product succeed. How much the new ownership agrees is yet to be seen.

You know how to contact me; I’m available if you care.

### 2/5 — When it works… three stars

*2026-03-23, version 4.4.0*

However, it is a royal pain to get paired, units updated… constantly dropping and you have to re-pair the thing AGAIN!

### 4/5 — Well designed app but lacks features

*2026-01-16, version 4.3.0*

Easy to use and looks nice but is severely lacking in features. You can set the battery charging profile but that’s about it. What would be more useful is an auto off for the AC inverter (with a selectable timer), and ideally schedules to turn on/off that and other ports.

### 3/5 — Constantly logging me out

*2026-01-07, version 4.3.0*

Not impressed

### 3/5 — Poor WiFi

*2025-12-01, version 4.3.0*

After trying other companies similar products, the frequency with how often the GZ Yeti disconnects from WiFi is unacceptable. I hope they bring a software fix for this problem. Otherwise, as a battery back up and power station for my house, is fantastic.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2025-09-24, version 4.3.0*

Does not work

### 2/5 — Not user friendly

*2025-07-29, version 4.3.0*

Not user friendly

### 1/5 — Never accurate

*2025-07-23, version 4.3.0*

Love my goal zero yeti. This app is not useful. Connection data inaccurate and no good way to refresh.

### 3/5 — Buggy app

*2025-07-20, version 4.3.0*

In addition to unstable server connections when using the cloud connection feature over multiple releases of this app, the latest version of this is broken, producing a ‘Cannot get platform application’ error when logging in.

ETA: Updated rating after error was fixed. Will update again as app improves.

### 1/5 — Hardly ever works

*2025-07-19, version 4.3.0*

Like other reviewers mentioned the app and the device connection are very sporadic. Keeps logging me out and connecting is painful and has to be redone too often. The WiFi does not let you use other networks when connected directly. It is disappointing

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This app is useless

*2026-08-20, version 4.4.1*

I have had nothing but problems trying to get this app to pair with my yeti 3000x. Got a notification to download new firmware and after spending two hours trying to get the app to pair with my device (both Bluetooth and WiFi) I still cannot get this to connect. It was unreliable before, but is completely useless now

### 1/5 — 300x

*2026-07-20, version 4.4.0*

Always drops connections and won’t reconnect

### 1/5 — Requires account to be useful but doesn’t like good passwords

*2026-07-03, version 4.4.0*

The app shows the current status of the power bank but it won’t save it or even show historical data unless you create an account. Their own docs say that the device stores about 10 days worth of history but it won’t show it in the app unless you connect it to an online account. So dumb. But when you try to make an account, the app falls all over itself. It appears that the app has different password requirements than the website and some passwords that work on the web don’t work on the app. I found this out the hard way.

### 1/5 — Never stays connected to Device

*2026-06-28, version 4.4.0*

Can not connect to device

### 1/5 — Non functional

*2026-05-11, version 4.4.0*

Latest release logs you out of the app and removes your devices from your profile. Worked fine before, guessing this version had a bad bug.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work properly anymore

*2026-04-20, version 4.4.0*

The app loses the information and connection with the devices, sometimes when you log out and sign in again, sometimes just because…
Doesn’t allow changing name of the device, it freezes…
It used to be acceptable bad, now is really worse

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-01-31, version 4.3.0*

Impossible to connect initially and then will not maintain a connection overtime. Horrible.

### 1/5 — Hard to connect to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth

*2026-01-16, version 4.3.0*

Hard to connect to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
Wi-Fi Password provided by GOALZERO is not valid by the way the password is “GOALZERO”

Bluetooth is not showing on iPhone or iPad
All this happened on the 1400 lithium model
Customer Service never is available

### 1/5 — Never stays connected to Device

*2025-11-05, version 4.3.0*

Can not connect to device

### 1/5 — App does not work

*2025-10-27, version 4.3.0*

App just stops pairing whenever it wants
Now I have read 5 or 6 support articles that have not helped fix my issue
Pro4000 20kv whole house backup is now getting unreliable- will it work when I need it? VERY FRUSTRATING

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — TaraT4

*2026-05-15, version 4.4.0*

Great Always love my Yetis since 1996

### 5/5 — GZ 1500X

*2026-04-12, version 4.4.0*

I have GZ 1500X, this is the minimum someone have to take if use in car or van because has power enough to do everything, specially use computers and printer, smaller shuts off at all the times. So I recommend at least 1500x. It’s the best I got in all my interstate travels in the country. Using microwave, coffee maker, air fryer, printer, laptop and another devices accordingly my needs, of course, each one plugged as needed only.

### 5/5 — GZ 3000X

*2026-03-24, version 4.4.0*

I don’t know why I have Goal Zero 3000X and the App shows 1500, this mess up information in my AI capture of devices and keep wrong information on my system, because AI reads and act upon the information it get on my system. The 1500 is under my 3000X equipment. Even if I setup the name GZ 3000X the AI says I’m using wrong name.

### 5/5 — You rock

*2026-03-10, version 4.3.0*

Couldn’t be anymore pleased with your product

### 5/5 — Works well

*2025-12-13, version 4.3.0*

I’ve been using the app with my Yeti Pro for about a year and a half now. Overall it does very well and it’s really nice to monitor my device in real time anywhere I am. Slight learning curve initially, but no major issues.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-11-30, version 4.3.0*

Very good app. Lots of information.

### 5/5 — Mr

*2025-10-19, version 4.3.0*

Great App!

### 5/5 — Powerful power app

*2025-05-22, version 4.3.0*

The GZ 4000 and 500 power stations that we have are each controlled in the GZ app. Great design with easy to understand interface with input & output data.

### 5/5 — Yetiriverguide

*2025-02-17, version 4.3.0*

Goal Zero/ must have units.

### 5/5 — Yeti,3000x
