A pastor asked me if I would purchase this devotional before leaving a dysfunctional marriage. I read God Calling faithfully, everyday for about 8 years. Now I’m more sporadic in my reading. This devotional walked me into a very real and very personal relationship with our very loving devoted Savior. The most amazing part was seeing how from year to year I had grown. From then until today, along with my Bible, it has been a central part of my morning devotionals. Every message within this book has been right on time. I have told many about this anointed book, and will continue to do so. I am also a faithful reader of GOD CALLING 2 Eventide. Regrettably I have not been able to receive it on my iPhone. It was discovered by her in the mid-1980s among her mother’s books when she passed away. The “two listeners,” two anonymous women in England in the 1930s, wrote these amazingly prophetic words in the first-person voice of Jesus. Like the Bible itself, each day’s writing seems to address just what you are going through. This comparison has made God Calling controversial but trusted application of it should assure the reader that God continues to speak to the faithful who are willing to stop and listen. My wife and I do prison ministry and have purchased hundreds of copies of God Calling for inmates, and have been told by them that, next to the Bible, it is the most valuable book they have. It is interesting to note that the two women who authored God Calling are anonymous and take no credit for themselves thus allowing for all glory to be given to God. The wisdom in their writings is profound. I have read this book every day since receiving it in 2012. I find it cold and sterile, not welcoming and inviting. I also find the font hard to read. Sadly, I will go back to my book copy and use this online version only when I don’t have access to my print version. If I could give it zero stars I would! Why fix something that’s not broken?! I have the notifications enabled on my phone, but every time it set the clock on the app for a notification time, the time has changed after the app has been closed. I have been reading the God Calling meditation book since 1991. I’m also a techy so was thrilled to find the digital version. However, these enhancements are needed to make it perfect: 1. A “select all” option on the context menu. 2. Add in the “Quoted from the God Calling app” (at a minimum) when using the Share/Copy option. This is common in other meditation-type apps and should be a no-brainer. I was walking out of his already open exit when a genial gust of wind stopped me. I enjoyed the breeze for a moment and looked to the right. There was a stack of Christian books from the late 19th century to the early 20th. I asked my father how much he was asking for them. He gave them all to me. Having been saved less than a year, receiving God Calling was a gift from God at a time my future ex husband left me and my children for another women and disappeared!
