### 5/5 — What a great App

*2024-01-24, version 4.5.3*

Goes has everything I need and everything I didn’t know I needed all in one convenient place. Whether you are hiking or skiing, climbing or kayaking, the goes app is great for all outdoor activities.

Highly recommended for all outdoor activity lovers

### 5/5 — Wow

*2024-01-24, version 4.5.3*

It’s never been so easy to be prepared. There’s no excuse when there is an app like Goes! No matter what sort of outdoor excursion I’m embarking on Goes makes me confident that I can address unforeseen scenarios in the most educated way possible. I hope experienced, but even more so inexperienced, outdoors people use the app to build new confidence and connection with the wilderness!

### 5/5 — Life saver

*2024-01-24, version 4.5.3*

What an app. Logical and user friendly. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Will be using throughout my hikes this year.

### 5/5 — Lifelong Subscriber!

*2024-01-20, version 4.5.3*

Sometimes you don't know how much you need something. Until you do.

I was working in my garage when a fall from a step ladder caused my shoulder to dislocate (an injury I have sadly endured a couple of times before).

Fortunately, my wife had the GOES app on her phone and was able to pull up the dislocated shoulder section. There were step-by-step instructions that were easy to understand and allowed me to deal with the situation myself, preventing a trip to the emergeny room! A dislocation in particular can get very painful and tricky to handle when it's not dealt with right away.

Super grateful for the app and service to help get me out of a precarious situation quickly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No good!

*2025-08-09, version 5.4.0*

There is something wrong with this app on many levels.

The built-in medical advice is surprisingly limited. For example, look up bug bites and you'll find it very lacking. No info on chiggers for example, a common concern for those spending a lot of time outdoors. Overall, it is a pretty app but has very limited useful medical information.

The app claims it does not collect any data that is tied to the user. However, their privacy policy seems to say otherwise. The app has features that only work if you provide precise location tracking. I do not have confidence that this location data isn't stored and shared with third-party companies. A medical app like this should have a simple privacy policy -- that NO personal data is stored or used in any manner (outside of things like contacting support about app issues).

The hazards info (bears, ticks, etc) seems compelling, but in my use of it I found it inaccurate and therefore sort of useless.

There are many new articles that are online only. Why would anything in this app be online only? It is VERY likely that anyone who actually needs the info this app offers would be out of cell range.

The bottom line is that the CONCEPT of this app is compelling, but the implementation is lacking.

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money

*2025-08-01, version 5.4.0*

A waste of money and time. Medical advice should be from real live experts not bots. What a scam and frankly a dangerous misleading app that could cause more harm than good.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2025-07-31, version 5.4.0*

The last couple of months the quality has gone way down. It reads like it is AI generated and on the website all the doctors have left!

### 1/5 — Typical Worthless Expensive App

*2025-01-21, version 4.25.5*

It’s your typical app from Facebook, spam you with incorrect info and beg for money before you can even access the app. Don’t waste your money on money hungry predatory companies like this. It’s a scam. Garbage app.

### 1/5 — No support

*2025-01-18, version 4.25.5*

I subscribed through the Apple Store and was billed, but the app features requiring a subscription don’t work and just tell me I need to subscribe. If I try to subscribe I get a message saying I’m already subscribed.

I sent a message to GOES support and never received a reply.

### 1/5 — Paid App

*2024-12-31, version 4.24.1*

the free versión is just a weather app, need to pay a subscription to see anything else. Save yourself some money by just doing online research on the areas you will be exploring

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2024-12-12, version 4.22.8*

Like many modern trash apps, they force you through a pointless questionnaire just to eventually push you to purchase the pro version. Without paying, this app is pretty much useless. I tried to pull up instructions on what to do if someone is choking and they said I need to pay for that. Imagine if this was an actual emergency. This app places greed above safety.

### 1/5 — This information is free and easily available

*2024-10-09, version 4.20.1*

This app is a great idea to have. Seems like an accessible way to store all the first aid knowledge you’d need. That being said everything on this app is essentially free on the internet and can be saved on a notes app/printed out. Charging for this information is morally questionable and not worth the money. Having CPR instruction locked behind a paywall is wrong.

### 2/5 — I subscribed but it still doesn’t give me all the abilities

*2025-01-13, version 4.24.1*

Good app but even after I subscribed it still has abilities locked. Im not sure why.

### 4/5 — Great app overall

*2026-03-16, version 5.5.2*

I like the app and the information provided is great. Only problem is the “Question of the Day” is buggy at times. I lost a few streaks because it states it needs internet access. The app has access to WiFi and cellular networks. I lost my streak several times. Overall, a great app for the information provided.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Invaluable tool

*2024-08-03, version 4.15.4*

I got the basic subscription ahead of a road trip / camping trip and it was invaluable to have. Not only did it help with smaller questions, but on the last day my wife had an incident at our campfire resulting in a few 2nd and 3rd degree burns. We used the assess feature to evaluate the severeness, perform first aid / wound care and get her to the nearest hospital. I was so glad I had the app ready and could rely on it in that situation.

### 5/5 — So necessary in the outdoor space 🙏

*2024-05-31, version 4.12.2*

I was recently on a hike in upstate NY and nearly stepped on a massive rattlesnake that came out of nowhere — as I stopped in my tracks and waited for it to hopefully pass, I went to GOES as quickly as possible. Thankfully I was able to figure out all the steps I needed to take in case I was not as lucky. It was so easy to find next steps in this (almost) emergency situation, this app is absolutely necessary for the outdoor industry!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-03-14, version 4.8.3*

Didn’t expect such a high quality app. great work all around. would reccomend to others

### 5/5 — Perfect Outdoors App

*2024-03-13, version 4.8.3*

Has all the information you need and is super easy to navigate

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-03-12, version 4.8.2*

Awesome!

### 5/5 — Helped with my rolled ankle

*2024-02-28, version 4.7.4*

This app did me a solid when I recently rolled my ankle while out. Within two days my ankle was feeling extremely painful, though only under certain conditions. Using the app I was able to get an understanding of what I most likely had (mild sprain) and some tips on how to treat it since I was able to walk and stand on it normally. Really great companion to have when you’re out and can’t necessarily get to anyone quickly!

### 5/5 — Exceptional and Life Saving

*2024-02-27, version 4.7.4*

This app is absolutely brilliant. I feel safer knowing that I have instant access to top medical information and resources when I leave my house. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing, GOES has my back. I recently got a terrible spider bite and was able to diagnose and treat it at home, which saved me a lot of time and stress. I love that this app is applicable wherever you are, even if you’re not on an awesome wilderness adventure.

### 5/5 — Awesome for moms

*2024-02-26*

So great to have this information for taking my kids out in all their activities. Not just peace of mind, but actionable information when situations happen. And all available off line. Brilliant!

### 5/5 — Great for being prepared

*2024-02-16, version 4.7.0*

Amazing app for all things outdoors. I have a hard time understanding what the weather forecast means for what I need to pack and prepare for out in the field, but with GOES I have the best forecast along with what it means in terms of risk factors. Also, by just playing around with the Injury Assessment feature (not that I’ve needed it yet thankfully), I’ve learned so much about wilderness medicine that I feel more prepared for the worst. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Super useful for backcountry skiing

*2024-02-16, version 4.7.0*

A couple years ago I cut open my leg pretty bad while backcountry skiing in the tetons. The experience made me realize that despite having WFR and avi certification I had no idea how to deal with emergencies. Having GOES gives me the comfort of knowing that the next time something like that happens I’ll have the medical knowledge to know how to respond on hand and I wont be reliant on remembering details from a course I took 5 years ago
