## What is Goethe Flashcards?

Goethe flashcards - the most frequent 1000 words of the German language.

Learn the words German actually runs on. Every card is drawn from a frequency list built on tens of millions of words of real spoken German, so if a word is in here, you will meet it constantly.

HOW IT WORKS
- Tap a card to flip between the word and its meaning.
- Sort each word into Known or Learning with one tap.
- Swipe left to right to undo a decision you did not mean to make.
- Open either list to read every word and meaning on one scrollable page.

WHAT IS ON A CARD
- The word, with its article marked the way German course books do it: -r for der, -e for die, -s for das. So "-s Auto", "-r Mann", "-e Frau".
- A definition in German or English. Tap the flag on the home screen to switch the base language: German definitions come from the German Wiktionary, English ones from the English Wiktionary.
- Its part of speech: noun, verb, adjective or adverb.
- How often it occurs, so you can see what "frequent" actually means.

BUILT FOR STUDY
- Works completely offline. No account, no sign-up, no network.
- Nothing is collected about you. Your progress stays on your device.
- Your Known and Learning lists and your language choice are saved between sessions.
