Maps/locations often missing ### 3/5 — Great app, but missing a web version *2025-10-21* I really like the GoFAR app — I’ve been using it for about a year now and it’s been very helpful. However, I find it very disappointing that there’s no web version available. All the data stays stored only on the phone, and I can’t access any of the information from my computer or iPad. Please consider developing a web app! For those having intermittent connection issues, I needed an updated module from GOFAR then it worked every time. **Developer response:** Hello, thank you for sharing your feedback. And in case you experience any further issues, please get in touch with us at support@gofar.co. ### 3/5 — Decent app needs improvements *2023-12-04* I have been using the paid product for over 6 months now. While its is very convenient to log odo, fuel and trip tags , there are some issues. 1 :- connectivity issues. Bluetooth pairing often gets crashed making the dongle not communicating to the app and takes multiple app restarts to fix it. 2.let’s say you have a scenario where you car you are driving a replacement car while your car is getting repaired. As soon as you add secondary car in the app if automatically takes your primary car off the subscription limiting your ability to access the primary car’s trip data. When you contact support they would delete the new temp car from system so trips taken on that is gone. 3. I have realised recently that despite the trips being marked as personal, it is still showing as business trips when generated through business export. Also when exporting the report, the odometer total doesn’t always add up to what total number says on top of the report. 4. If you’re doing some sort of parcel delivery / food delivery which requires multiple power off and on, then it struggle to keep up with the short trip. 5. They only have email support which makes things harder to explain over the email thread. There is no call support. **Developer response:** Hello, thank you for sharing your feedback. Regarding point 4 of your feedback, the app has a 'Split Trip' functionality that you can use to force a new trip to start immediately - perfect for the scenario you just described. You can access it on the app's home screen while a trip is being recorded. Regarding point 5 - our customer support tried calling you multiple times but unfortunately could not reach you. ### 2/5 — Not great *2023-08-23, version 2.10.11* Early days but seems to miss trips. Need an unsightly cord to connect Ray unit not mentioned in marketing. Pretty dissatisfied at this point. ### 3/5 — Nice concept, problematic execution *2023-06-17* Have used the app for 2 month, and initially very happy, but have deleted it now after finding it more annoying and frustrating than helpful. E.g., the app functionality a user pays for in advance is restricted unless full-time GPS access is provided in the mobile device settings (it is not enough to allow it GPS access it only while using app - it demands access even when not using the app, and then reduces functionality when you don’t agree). As a result, I ended up with lots of trips with no location detail or map, and no odometer. Also, the OBD2 connector is very sensitive to even small bumps from feet in the footwell - maybe only a problem in our LR Discovery given the OBD2 connector is close to the accelerator pedal? Needs a more robust connector. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, and we are deeply sorry for the inconvenience. Our device records all the trips so you never miss one, even if you forget your phone, but it does not have a GPS module, so we rely on the phone location data. That's why the app needs access to the location while in the background. Regarding the inconvenient OBD-II port location, extension cables are available to purchase at the market, which might help place the adapter in a more convenient place. ### 2/5 — Sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. *2023-06-11, version 2.10.6* It’s almost more inconvenient to have a program that doesn’t work every time. ### 2/5 — Requires a $100 device PLUS 15 /month subscription *2023-04-25* BE WARNED! This is not just an app on your phone. It requires a device which is either purchased separately or included if you pay at least a year up from. There are several other options for this purpose like Mile IQ that are less money and use the built in functionality of your device (what benefit does this device offer over them?). Seems pricey for a limited option (what if I drive different vehicles?) **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Thanks to the GOFAR Adapter, our app can be more battery efficient as it knows precisely when to start recording trips, in comparison to the app-only solutions that have to use the phone's services constantly to guess when you are driving. If you forget to take your phone, your trips will still be recorded (without the location data) on the device and then synced back the next time you connect the app. Our device also offers other functionalities, like helping you understand your car's diagnostic trouble codes and providing detailed statistics of your driving efficiency that helps save on fuel. ### 4/5 — Almost perfect! *2022-11-25* Really enjoy using Gofar over alternative ways to track my miles due to the accuracy. Pros: - Never has missed a mile, I drive 6000+ miles/mo as a courier driver and this is super important. - Simple, to the point. You just swipe and it tracks. - Love the maintenance tracker and scanner-tool built in. Especially helpful due to the amount of miles and being able to catch things early saves potentially thousands. Cons: - Scrolling through trips is very laggy. Sometimes won’t scroll, and I have to move my finger slowly through the screen till it “grabs” and will “skip/lag” as I’m scrolling. Most of the time it’s not a big deal, but if I’m trying to look at trips over several days, it does become frustrating. - No desktop version. This would be helpful as I’d like to review trips over the last 30+ days on one big screen, to make sure I didn’t miss a trip I drove for business. As of today, I can only scroll which leaves room to miss a trip. Overall, I won’t swing away from this unless there’s another OBD-II mileage tracker with superior features. Also updated the latest version ### 3/5 — Connectivity Issues *2022-08-23, version 2.5.29* App constantly breaches ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible Customer Service/Paid for a service and never received. *2026-07-20* Avoid GoFar. I cancelled my subscription years ago after never receiving the logbook I had paid for, yet they continued charging me anyway. When I requested a refund, they flatly denied it, claiming there was no evidence that I had ever tried to cancel. I then had to waste my own time digging through years of emails to prove I had contacted them and requested both a cancellation and a refund. The best part? Once I finally provided my own evidence, they suddenly decided they needed to "review my account history" before processing my refund. So apparently they can access my account history after all. If they were capable of reviewing it now, why wasn't it reviewed before they rejected my claim and made me do all the work? I paid for a service that was never delivered, had to create my own logbook by hand for tax purposes, and then spent years fighting to stop being charged and to get someone to take my complaint seriously. This is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Instead of investigating a customer's account properly, they put the burden on the customer to prove their own records wrong. A simple cancellation should never turn into years of unnecessary charges, endless emails, and excuses. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money with a company that actually supports its customers. ### 1/5 — Connect issues *2026-02-16, version 2.18.3* GOFAR will not connect or log Milagros as it should, no warning that it isn’t connected ### 1/5 — Great idea but faulty *2026-01-23, version 2.18.2* Be careful - this is a great idea but it doesn’t support all vehicles - it would be great if there was a checklist prior to someone purchasing the item before hand to save a lot of wasted time - I have a hilux sr5 2007 did the check (which was only known about once I had the item in my Ute and spent the money) but apparently even though the site allows you to check compatibility then gives you a cert to say your vehicles compatible - when it isn’t - there’s a force download option which apparently updates the device but nothing changed - 1 star because as a business owner making sure services doesn’t lead to inconveniences is what matters most ### 1/5 — My experience so far *2025-07-25, version 2.17.7* Trying to get hold of support so difficult, just sends you to a frequently asked page. I haven’t taken it to an accountant yet but I don’t foresee any issues. It’s been working great, I love that I can even track the locations I’ve been to and the fuel I purchase. I also gave the Ray a crack, I’m surprised by how much I like it, I originally thought I’d get annoyed at it, but funnily enough I’ve made kind of a game with it, how long I can keep it blue. Admittedly my brain still can’t help but think red makes it go faster. And today it did me a solid. I recently bought a new used work van and switched the GOFAR over (I have had some issues getting it to properly switch but I’m sure if I contact customer service I can get it sorted out) but after switching it over I got alerts that cylinders were misfiring, sure enough after a trip to the mechanics, the spark plugs were gone along with a few other issues.
