Setup is very difficult because it either works or doesn’t after going through setup. You don’t know if you made a mistake until the end. My suggestion for setup, go very slow and double check each step before moving on. If you make a mistake or think you made a mistake, factory reset and start over. Thx ### 3/5 — Great app but poor video *2019-10-17, version 2.4* 2 years on and no reply or update I fitted this device to a garage door and a shutter door and this device opens and closes the doors seamlessly from anywhere using my phones 3g or 4g or wifi and combined with my ring doorbell pro I've taken more than 30 deliveries whilst being away from home, sometimes in other countries. There is one problem, I bought the video add on for about £30 for 3 years which after fitting a camera in my garage allows me to see inside my garage whilst using the app but this doesn't work as advertised or is next to useless. The video to my phone is running at about 1 frame per second which is not fast enough to see what's going on, delivery has happened and all I see is a closed garage then the next frame is a half opened garage then a fully opened garage and the parcel has been delivered before the next frame which is of the fully opened garage. If I swap to the app that is associated with the camera I get smooth video (obviously when connected to wifi or good phone signal) i have a very fast home internet speed and even with the gogogate2 hard wired to my network this is still the case. I spoke to Gogogate2 and they said this was normal. I say that they should not be charging for the video feed until they sort this. ### 3/5 — Refuse to allow CarPlay Siri integration *2019-10-11, version 2.4* What a shame, with some simple software update you could permit your loyal existing customer base to have the GGG2 app work with CarPlay and Siri but instead you just try to up sell us to buying new hardware and binning the GGG2. I do not wish to re wire premises with new hardware for something that could be done with a software release. Works great but everyone wants Siri and CarPlay functionality. ### 3/5 — I like it. Setup not easy *2019-04-14, version 2.4* This took a while to set up, not the physical install but the setup process. It is not intuitive and the instructions are lacking in detail at points. Also, i can’t find anywhere in the app that tells me if there is a firmware update. It does work once installed and it does work with Amazon Alexa – although I’ve never found a use for the voice control. I set this up with IFTTT to close every night at 11 PM As a precaution so the garage is not left all night open if in fact it is open ### 2/5 — Works okay but could use some modern features *2019-03-30, version 2.4* It works okay but it’s missing: Either HomeKit support (preferred) since you no longer need hardware to make that happen it could be added via a firmware update. Or At least Siri shortcuts support so you unlock your garage/gate with just your voice in the car rather than having to open an app. Also the interface is a little ugly and gimmicky. Why not just have a list of gates/doors and an open button. Next to each. No need for each one to take up the whole screen. And why swipe up and down? Just make it a friggin button! Finally why do you need a random code to set this up? Can’t it just be set up with a username/password and then that’s all you need? Just makes this whole thing seem second rate. ### 1/5 — Nope not this one *2019-03-22, version 2.4* Lots of choices on control of garage doors out there. This one has No support and after 3 hours and 11 set ups. It’s in a box back to amazon very unpredictable on set up network and if you set it up and later move it you get to start all over. No paper at all. I will pass on this one. I control 2 garage doors and a gate with it. The app works but as per some other reviews it would be nice to be able to customise the pictures for the doors. The watch app works but takes a long time to come up and its often quicker to just reach for my phone and use the phone app, which typically connects almost straight away. What’s really needed is a CarPlay app though. Installed a wireless IP Camera Foscam FI9821P Camera work great with it own app, but very slow and delay with GoGoGate app. GoGoGate2 app need an update to fix the delay that cameras connected to it. FYI. When garage door is open. Bottom of the app shows “GARAGE” door was still open Update 6/2/20 Gogogate2 having problems with date. Works fine when on WiFi at home. But when away or on date app on iPhone not working. “ Gogogate times out not found”. Reset Gogogate2 and WiFi three times and still having the same problem. Not sure does the app need new update. iPhone iso was updated to 13.5.1 and it seem to stopped working. Not sure is it the gogogate2 app on phone or the unit it’s self. ### 1/5 — Total trash! *2020-05-27, version 2.4* Was painful to install. App setup requires professional skills. In less than two years, two out of three relays on the device are dead!! Contacted support and they had nothing to offer. If you’re outside the one year warranty, all they offer by means of support is a 15% discount on the next piece of trash! ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t work at all *2019-04-21, version 2.4* Could not get the unit to allow my iPhone to join its WiFi network, therefore could not set it up at all. At first, the unit would not present its WiFi network for me to choose from. I attempted resetting the unit by holding down the black button. Then it did display the GoGoGate network for a couple or three attempts, but it presented me with an error saying cannot joint the network. Finally the network name stopped appearing in the list of network names to join. Too many other choices out there to fool with something like this. It is going back today. ### 1/5 — Great hardware. Poor app. *2019-03-25, version 2.4* As stated by another reviewer: Hardware works well. But app is definitely due for some very simple updates. Like allowing more than one person to receive notifications. Also custom notifications if the garage door is left open. Maybe the ability to send a one time access pass to people without them having to sign up and download the app. Many possibilities. I spent 1 hour hacking together an app for myself with some of these features. I've never changed my settings because it worked. I checked the settings and these are not changed. Notifications are enabled. What's happened Gogogate2? ### 5/5 — Unreliable Location Service *2020-06-10, version 2.5.1* Perhaps an IFTTT issue rather than Gogogate2 issue. Cannot rely on it to function reliably. ### 5/5 — Update:Remote access issues still happening *2020-06-09, version 2.5.1* Update June 9 2020: as expected, the firmware and app were updated. I had to reload the unit from scratch. But, we are back to working again! Still a great and solid unit. Previous review: Been rock solid for several years. This week, noon. Remote access broken. Then a firmware patch, remote Access still broken. Am sure they are working on it. More work needs to be done there (pinch to zoom, full screen). You had to configure the option to be able to open it when your phone is not connected in the same WiFi network but they tell you how in the instructions.
