We have a heater in our baby’s room linked to the app and often we can’t turn it on/off or adjust the display light via the app. The heater will sometimes be on and the app says it’s off, and vice versa. It is very usual for us to have the heat set to one thing, but the heater putting out too much heat. Say we set it at 19 it will often show as being at 24. ### 2/5 — What’s the Point…. *2023-06-02, version 2.0.8* Bought a Goldair Platinum heater for my elderly Mum’s bedroom to take the chill out of the air before she gets up or goes to bed. The timer function on the app is useless. There is absolutely no functionality to set the timer to come on at a certain time, the only functionality it has is to turn off after a certain number of hours. So this means waking up earlier just to turn the heater on. Surely the timer functionality could be upgraded to be able to set it to turn on and off at a certain time each day and in increments of minutes not hours. It’s not rocket science. 🙅🏼‍♀️ ### 4/5 — New App, new problems *2022-12-12, version 2.0.6* For some reason I can turn the Fan on/off but you can't access the other features as it just says Device Offline then eventually says Network Error. E.g. I’d like the heater in my hallway, to come on at 0500, so the space is warm when we wake up an hour later at 0600. Presently,I can only turn it OFF from a timer. Good start but needs Work. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2021-10-30, version 2.0.5* Rubbish app. Doesn’t let me connect to my wifi fan as it does a Bluetooth search for new device. There is no option to select the device you want to connect and as soon as I click “confirm indicator rapidly blink” it does a Bluetooth search and then picks up nothing. Have had to set up my fan using the brilliant smart app instead. This is on iPhone 13 pro max running iOS 15 ### 1/5 — Doesn’t function *2021-09-05* This thing has never really worked. Needs to be adjacent to Wi-Fi and by adjacent I mean 2 feet from the router. Which is not ideal or practical. When I call customer service they’re response was like “oh well. Sorry.” I set up the schedule, but then it inexplicable disappeared three weeks later. Three months in the on/off switch doesn’t work. It’s stuck on 24 degrees. None of the buttons work and I can’t access it through the app. Honestly, just the worst space heater I’ve ever owned. If you want a headache, buy this product. If you want a heater I would recommend literally ANY other product over this one. ### 3/5 — Eh… mixed results *2021-08-10, version 2.0.5* App works really well with the heater (Goldair Platinum Digital Inverter), but won’t connect with the fan (Goldair Sleepsmart), which is a bit irritating. ### 4/5 — Good control of heater *2021-08-06, version 2.0.5* The app is a good way to control and monitor the heater. Most of the time I get a direct line to it, but sometimes when I open the page for the heater, it shows me old data for temperatures or being even turned on/off rather than current so I end up turning off something that’s turned on or even just nothing happens. So I’ve “learned” to leave the app open for 5-10 seconds and wait for it to refresh before I look at the heater info. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App simply does not work *2025-07-24, version 2.1.2* Very frustrating. I spent 30 minutes attempting to connect with no success. I’ve managed to connect and troubleshoot other appliance apps successfully but this one simply does not work. ### 1/5 — App scheduling poor *2025-07-22* App is a nightmare. Schedule on / off functions are hit and miss at best. (Some part of the app is in Chinese.) Sometimes the app won't even communicate with the heater. We bought the heater so we could set up scenarios to be more energy efficient. But. It is using more energy since the heater is always on! I'll go and by a delonghi oil heater. At this pont it will be more efficient especially with a separate timer-thermostat plugged into the wall. ### 1/5 — Needs an overhaul *2024-05-18, version 2.0.8* Possibly the worst most useless app produced. It should be an embarrassment to the Goldair CEO to link their product this app. It makes me wonder if the Goldair product is also poorly produced and maybe dangerous. ### 1/5 — App update *2024-05-18, version 2.0.8* App updated and won’t allow me to pre schedule the heater to turn on and off. I previously could have set timers for the heater, this was very beneficial in my toddlers room overnight. Prior to the update, the app was user friendly and easy to navigate. The app also won’t allow we to log feedback. Love how I can control it from my phone. We always have the fan on during the nights and when it got colder one of us had to get up to turn it off. Now, I can just pick up my phone and turn it off. Just what you want out of a heating app. ### 5/5 — Great way to control Goldair’s heaters. *2021-06-13* Six Goldair Wi-Fi heaters throughout the house. Family members can control their heater via the smartphone app. Update now allows heaters to be controlled via Google Home (and Alexa). I had a few issues with this feature - found deleting, and reinstalling the Goldair app fixed the intermittent connection loss. Only feature I miss is a schedule on/off capability , either in the app or via Google Home. Google Home won’t allow you to create a schedule for heaters due to safety concerns. A great new feature is now when I’m the last to l leave the house I ask Google to switch off all heaters - none are left on heating an empty house all day. ### 5/5 — Awesome! *2020-08-26, version 2.0.4* I only operate it by the app, very happy. Not much increase to my power bill & I havent hardly used my heater since I bought my dehumidifier. The timer functionality leaves a lot to be desired. It would be great if there was a timer functionality to turn the heater on as well as off . No responsive tech support (clearly as Goldair NZ have made no effort to update v1.1.1 for iPhone). So the developer is not watching this feedback here nor over in the Google Play either where the reviews are equally awful. Dear Apple App Store, please have a conversation with the developers to pull the app now or quickly upgrade it. Many functions don’t work like the simple task of adding a user! Says to phone the developer. Yeah right! They need to update the software, and improve the GUI to be more intuitive in where you find the functions. It’s a GUI /UX mess right now.
