## What is Golden 1 Card Controls?

Log in to Golden 1 Card Controls with the Golden 1 Mobile banking app. Launch the banking app, tap "Manage your Cards" in the "More" menu, then download and launch the Card Controls app.

Card Controls Features:
 
•     Card On/Off Setting - turn your card ON to allow transactions per setting, or OFF to decline all purchases or withdrawals
•     Real-time alerts for PIN and signature transactions to detect unauthorized or fraudulent activity
•     Usage controls and alerts - set spending limit thresholds, monitor activity by categories (such as gas stations and restaurants) and by transaction type (such as in-store purchases, e-commerce transactions and ATM transactions)

Fiserv literally offers an app that has card controls built into the main app, which also uses location-based security. MERCO credit union in Merced does this and they’re like 1/100 the size of G1. How are they a such a large credit union but still manage to offer subpar services. If they don’t get way better by the end of 2023 I’m switching banks. G1 been acting like Chase for quite some time now anyway…

I was able login with no issues, but now it gives an error “unable to authenticate…”. Luckily, I’m about to still access my card controls the G1 main app 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I also called Customer Service and the first rep tried to help then transferred to another rep and still could not help.

This is a good card to have when you want to be notified when your partner spends. It worked at first for a few weeks, then it just stops notifying me. I went into the settings to change the notifications but the only thing that works is to uninstall and reinstall the app.

Every time I try to add a card or a trip plan to the app I end up having to call the support line, half of those calls route me to a silent hold… I’ve given up on using this and just call the main line for travel alerts now. It would be great if it worked but as of this morning I’ve tried using the app 4 times in the past year and it hasn’t worked correctly once. It’s a shame because Golden1 typically has great customer service.

Based on the developer response I reinstalled the app. The result was mixed, I can set a trip plan for my card, but when I try to do so for my wife’s card I get an error popup that tells me to call. I can see the trip for her card that I previously called about so it’s not like the card info is missing in general. Maybe it just can’t handle joint accounts.

If you haven't done so already, please try uninstalling this app and the mobile banking app, restarting your phone then reinstalling both apps and trying again. If you continue to have trouble, please let us know and we will investigate the issue.

I’m using an XR iPhone. I took it to Golden 1 for the customer service lady to help me and she couldn’t fix it. I have uninstalled the app and downloaded it back on my phone and it still doesn’t work. Its not signing in. It ask for my debit card number which I added to the app and each time it tells me that “the registration process has been disconnected. I’ve called the phone number that came up on my screen, and the customer service person didn’t know how to fix it. So my last solution is to take my money out of Golden 1 and go to another bank and open a new account.  I hate to leave you all with all the many years I’ve been your customer. None of my other banking apps give me any problems like this one do.
