## What is Golden Apple Paradise?

Every spirit is modeled on a real plant native to Taiwan — companions the island cannot do without. Meet them in the game first, then get to know what they really look like.

Pick your spirits, pack their bags, and let them go.
Every expedition has its own terrain and conditions. Carry, climb, cold, drought, water, symbiosis — learn what each spirit is good at and build the right team for the trip.
Once they leave, you don't need to keep watching the phone.
The spirits finish the expedition at their own pace. When you come back, they may already be home with new memories.

* Asynchronous expeditions
From a fifteen-minute stroll to a full-day trek. Choose the destination, form the team, and leave the rest to them.
* Camp life
Spirits chat, rest, spar and cheer around the campfire, and wander between the nursery, the study desk and the notice board. Life goes on while you're away.
* Six ecological abilities
Carry, climb, cold, drought, water, symbiosis. Different land needs different combinations; no single team fits every journey.
* Raising and awakening
Grow alongside your spirits and strengthen what they do best. After awakening, new possibilities may appear.
* Turning of the solar terms
Time moves on and the island changes with it. Every solar term is a new season: new routes, new spirits, and things you can only meet in those few weeks.
* Trail questions
On the seasonal routes you meet what Taiwan’s ecology is really doing on that trail right now. Read a short scene, answer one question — the answer is hidden in the land itself.
* Lumber Run
Pack the tent and the campfire and head down the trail for firewood. Invasive bugs pour out of their nest and crawl toward camp along three paths — every bug fears a certain kind of plant, so bring the right companions to hold the camp and drive them back. Each stage gives up to three stars, and stars turn into firewood and Thriftwood.
* Underground Farm
The People Below live beneath the camp. Follow Iku down, hand them care items as fertilizer, and come back a few hours later to harvest materials for your Rest Area. Every level you expand houses one more spirit, and the Rest Area keeps growing.
* Friends and visits
Add friends with a player code or a share link, walk into their camp and see what their spirits are up to, then head down to their farm and help with the watering.
* Camp decoration
The campfire stays; everything else can change. One new set each season, earned on the road, until the camp slowly becomes your own.
* Gallery
Every discovery the spirits bring home becomes a painting by the fire. The gallery remembers everywhere they have been.
* Journals and bonds
Who went out with whom, where they went, what they lived through — it all accumulates, and past journeys leave traces in camp life.
* Notes in your backpack
The tainted beasts and bugs you have met, and the butterflies and leaves around camp, are all kept in the Notes page of your backpack — tap one for the full story and where to find it.
* Field guide
Behind every spirit is the story of a plant: scientific name, family, conservation status, habitat. Learn it in the game, then learn the real thing.

No need to stay online.
Drop by now and then to see where they went, and what happened at camp.

Every departure brings you a little closer to Taiwan.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.20.6 — 2026-10-28

What's new in 1.20.6
• Lumber Run bug variants have new looks: Black-shell is tougher and wrapped in dark mist, and Platinum gets back up once after being knocked down. Meet them in Hard mode and event stages.
• Each bug's page in your Backpack notes now records the variants you've met.
• The Lumber Run control panel stays the same height, so taller screens show more sky.
• Running out of time for 3 stars? Use Dew to gain 10 more seconds, up to 3 times per stage.
• Swipe left and right on the Lumber Run map, and gold stars in Hard mode bring back firewood.
• Rewards on the results screen now appear as item icons with numbers.
• Expedition mid-trip choices redesigned: spend Dew for a sure success, make camp and take a little longer, or come right back.
• Various display fixes and stability improvements.

### 1.20.5 — 2026-10-26

What's new in 1.20.5
• See your spirits grow: the Enhance and Awaken buttons now tell you what's still missing and where to find relics, and after training a bar at the top shows the before-and-after change.
• Lumber Run results now compare with your last attempt and suggest which spirit to train next (seasonal and event spirits included).
• The preview card before a run also shows before/after values.
• Friends list: choose on your nickname page whether friends can see when you were last online.
• The app is now a bit smaller.
• Fixed several English and Japanese line breaks and overlapping text, plus stability improvements.

### 1.20.3 — 2026-10-23

What's new in 1.20.3
• Friends list: mark friends as favorites to pin them to the top; everyone else is sorted by when they were last online, and the list resizes to fit.
• Lumber Run stars now have three goals: drive back 80% of the bugs, clear the stage, and clear within the target time. Stars are awarded one by one on the battlefield, and even a loss earns a star if you drove back 80%.
• Call the Iku now plays out in full: Iku runs in, crashes into the swarm and pushes the bugs back.
• Ranged spirits standing off-camera now show up at the left edge, so you can see who is helping.
• Stars still turn into firewood, and now give care items on top.
• Friends' last-online times are now shown more accurately.
• The friends page now fits fully on iPad screens.
• With Reduce Motion on, replaying a stage no longer marks stars you already earned as "New!".
• Bug fixes and stability improvements.

### 1.20.1 — 2026-10-22

What's new in 1.20.1
• Music library in the Underground Farm: each of the six rooms has five albums (tracks and cover art). Grow closer to the keeper to unlock more, and set a favorite as the room's music. Albums are picked in a swipeable cover carousel, and the progress bar takes on the keeper's color.
• Opening a room now fades in that room's theme.
• All 16 tainted beasts have been redrawn with a flowing aura, and they appear larger in their frames and in the Backpack notes.
• From Frost's Descent on, upgrading a farm room no longer needs a harvest count.
• Lumber Run has its own music during the Halloween event.
• Easier-to-read numbers on Lumber Run cards; the trait info page now matches the card (including bond bonuses).
• Small display fixes.

### 1.19.9 — 2026-10-21

What's new in 1.19.9
• Underground Farm: when Iku walks into a room, he now carries a rock in, sits down and has a quick chat with the keeper; each of the six keepers has their own reply animation.
• Iku is now the same size as the other People Below in the farm.
• The harvest cheer now uses a standing pose.
• Tapping a butterfly flying over the camp shows its picture on the info page again (it was blank for the newest seasonal batch).
• Better onboarding diagnostics so we can keep improving the first few minutes.
• Small display fixes.
