Um I think that if it had a widget where you could see your portfolio without having to open the app that would be awesome or have one that shows the price of silver or smth. Be able to look up by name or mint instead of manually scrolling a never ending page looking……. It would be great if it could calculate average cost automatically. Edit: I wish we could add the sell price. It’s some, does exactly what I was looking for and is free with no tricks. One feature I’d love to see is being able to add a photo of your inventory item though. Will be updating my review after seeing it’s becoming a membership app after next update. I’ll see what’s left for us long time users, but can see it being deleted if no one time price is available. The ability to see the exact prices directly in the app, and have quick buy links straight to the dealers, I’ve waited for an app like this for ages! Great work here, dev team! Lukas ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Another app that you have to pay for *2026-07-25* This app was brilliant but as usual now you have to pay for basic features. I would have given it 10 stars let alone 5 but now they’ve started introducing “updates” so you have to pay for features. My recommendation is just write your portfolio down on a piece of paper before you store all of your info on an app that’s eventually going to block you through a paywall forcing you to buy your info back. I’m going to stop using this app now and stick to a pen and paper before I lose it all. I understand running costs exist but just add a feature where you can donate something as most of us are so appreciative of the app. I would donate £10 just to keep it the same as it was before **Developer response:** Hi this is heartbraking for me. I spend so much time and money with this app and if i see one star for this reason it makes me cry. You cant imagine how much money i need to spend every month to just run this app. How much cost every update. I am donating this app every month because i made this for users. Thank you ### 1/5 — Paywalling features that were free *2026-05-10* I understand implementing micro transactions to the app and normally this wouldn’t bother me. However, taking away features that were free in the beginning(adding pictures and advanced pricing) and then paywalling behind a micro transaction is disgusting and not the right way to go about it. Let us know, and I will do my best to find a solution for you. ### 1/5 — Uninstalled *2026-05-09* I’ve uninstalled the app after they’ve changed features like photos and bulk upload to a premium subscription that users pay for, the app is clearly desperate for money, instead of incentivizing users to download their app by making it better they just add a subscription service. Widgets don’t work, P/L doesn’t work, and before you could add a photo to an item in your inventory to catalog but now it seems that adding a photo is becoming a “premium” feature. (dumb thing to pay for) But now there’s a catch! You want the premium features? The button doesn’t even work either!! Kinda funny really… **Developer response:** Could you please send us a video at info@goldfolio.app ? Many people think the markets are open during the weekend, so that may be the reason why you see no changes in widgets or P/L during weekends :) We also need to add a paywall because there is no other way to cover the app’s monthly costs. ### 1/5 — This new Premium addition makes the app not worth it anymore *2026-04-29* What they had for the last couple months has been perfect. No issues, efficient and accurate. Then they added these new premium features as a cashgrab and make the app borderline impossible to use without paying the premium fee. Coming from someone who has been using this app for about a year or so this is a big disappointment. Especially as I’ve been using this mainly over the Tavex myportfolio section on the website. Now I’m going to have to manually add my things to the Tavex app and delete this. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it and not everything needs to be monetised. What a complete joke i woke up to, i wish i never had automatic updates on so I could’ve avoided this and i know its not going to be reverted so this is where i make my exit. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review. Several hundred lots and today less than a week later it's locked me out and deleted the usuer. Don't waste your time and effort. There is no backup and no way to retrieve your account database. If you share more information with us we can investigate that. ### 1/5 — Suspicious *2025-03-13* According to the privacy policy, data may be shared with affiliates. It's hard to trust a free app that sells extremely sensitive data, especially when they are not upfront about it. **Developer response:** Hi we update our Privacy Policy and we did not sell data or provide your data to anybody and we will not do that for sure in the future too. Sorry for that. ### 2/5 — Inaccurate prices *2025-12-07* The app shows my calculated silver prices way below what it should be, even with their live spot price, which too is lower than all spot prices a stacker would utilize. I’ve been using this app for ages, and I started it because it does everything I wanted. It’s easy to track, the layout is nice, it’s clean efficient. Overall the app is amazing. But I’ve spent hours added all my portfolio to this app, going back through all purchases making sure everything is correct to now not be able to use half the features I was already using…. Do I now go to another app and all my time was wasted. Or do I stay here with half the features I had. I understand and respect costs and bills need to be paid and things are getting more expensive, but also not everyone can afford a fun bill like this on a monthly basis. I would much prefer banner ads at the bottom or optional donations etc etc. maybe these are not cost effective. But I’m super gutted this is now paid as the app is absolutely amazing what it is. I’ve been using this about a year and achieve around 150% returns on my metals using this app to track my purchases It is easy to use even my elderly Dad can keep an eye on his portfolio I downloaded about 6 other apps before this one which were all useless. Lukas ### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for *2026-02-08* Simply put the title of this review is that… “exactly what I was looking for”. I’ve seen some other decent reviews that voiced constructive criticisms for things that could be fixed and I’ll reiterate some of those here. Previously there was a critique to add a printable portfolio option and it is up and running perfectly for me (saves as some sort of CSV format I believe). I also do concur with some of the other critiques that the UI could be a bit better and it does feel somewhat clunky at times. Other than those two though (one of them being addressed already) the app was exactly what I was looking for and really the only one on the IOS app market that addressed my needs. My only real individual suggestion would be to add some sort of donation or support option for the creator/ dev team so that we can try and keep this app free as long as possible. However, the operating and development costs are very high, which makes it difficult to sustain everything completely free. That’s why we will add a Premium version. The app will remain free to use (70%), but some advanced features will be available only to paid users (30%). I’m sorry for this change, but it’s the only way for us to cover costs and continue improving the app. Even with Premium, we may still need to invest some of our own money to support development.
