## What is Golf Handicap Companion?

Golf Handicap Companion works alongside an official handicap record providing greater visibility of how differential scores and generated and how a handicap index develops.

The app shows how a handicap index has developed over time.  Details of the next round including course handicap, which deferential will be dropped, what score is needed to improve the handicap index, and the effect of a bad score on the handicap index are provided.

The golfer will see how calculations are made in the WHS system and can also see how well they are player against there handicap and what affect a run of bad scores will have.

The app provides a link to the R&A website to look up the slope and rating of any course on their database.

### 5/5 — No Frills Handicap Tracker

A bit buggy at times, with occasional crashes when clicking differentials in the handicap index tab. Dev please look into this. 

Most importantly, no ads, no subscription, just a one time 99¢ purchase. 

Who needs an app all with that course data that you need a monthly subscription to access when a scorecard, that every course provides has all the information you need, let alone that this app provides the link to a R&A webpage which also provides that same data you’d find on a scorecard. Also there’s no GPS, but… what course these days doesn’t have gps on the carts? Some of these apps have monthly subscription fees at the cost of a range finder.

4/5, definitely would be a 5/5 if not for the crashes.

I like to see independent developer apps but this needs a lot of work. Doesn’t display properly with larger fonts on dynamic type with elements going outside screen bounds. Non-standard buttons, non-standard animations, update or delete of score entered incorrectly is not intuitive. Easy to enter previous round on wrong date and can’t correct it. UI is messy and navigation is inconsistent. Need manual override to handle 9-hole courses. Crashes on the Next Round button. I’ve given up trying to enter my last 20 from England Golf and put this down as a waste of money. I’m surprised it gets past App Store validation in this state.

Love this app!  Nice feature to calculate what you need to score in next round for HI to drop or show calculated rise!  Very simple but effective app!

Version 3.0 includes:
- Clicking on the Differentials title on the last 20 bar chart screen shows how the handicap calculation has been made.  This works for less than 20 scores and for 20 score scenarios.
- The course name can be edited and this will change the course name for all scores from that course.  This is good if a course name has been mis-spelt or as in the case of my course if it has been rerated and the old rating needs to be archived i.e. changing "coursename" to "old coursename" and adding a new course with the new slope and rating.
- On each individual score from the edit score page the low handicap index can be changed.  This is then the low handicap index that will be used for the handicap index calculation where that score is the last score.
- The link to the R&A website to retrieve the slope and rating of a course has been fixed.
