Would be nice if it was satellite map based rather than fake map. Easier to place shots relative to landmarks that way. Also would be nice to see all tee boxes regardless of chosen tee box. Some courses have no fairway or no green which skews the data. Putting in penalty shots seems challenging as well. Then they switched to a visual entry system, and ever since the app has been terrible. I just went back in after several months, started a round and could not place my first shot on the hole. The app will work once and then after will not load again unless I delete the app and redownload. However, the next time I open the app the same thing happens. It happened in the middle of a round and I took way too much time trying to delete and redownload the app just to have it happen again. Even if the data is good the app is unusable currently. I think it is easy to understand, the suggestions for practice, different baselines is very cool. I don’t find the entry to be difficult at all. If you’re into doing the gps during the round it’s great and easy to get much more accurate numbers than what the scorecard may say. My issues have come with the app itself. Too many bugs and making it difficult to use. I completed a round and the Home Screen just never loaded…I had to get on my laptop once I got home to see anything. I wasted $100 for the annual subscription based on good experience with the old app. I tried using the help multiple times but never figured out how to enter a single shot. Plus I cannot figure out how to cancel to prevent auto renew next year. Impossible to enter shot data quickly with one hand. They updated a “no map” version which helped a little as entry was similar to old. But app will still frequently crash. Currently I can’t see any analysis of rounds because my Home Screen permanently shows a spinning circle and no rounds. Hasn’t worked for four weeks now. I’ve emailed support several times and no response. I honestly liked the old interface more, it was simple and reliable. The software company Broadie partnered with should be ashamed. It's very sloppy. There are typos. The tutorial doesn't load the visuals. Nothing is intuitive. They need to go back to the drawing board. For something that costs $100/year, the quality should be WAY better. It is a bad look that they charge for an app of this quality. ### 1/5 — I miss the old Golfmetrics *2026-04-14* It used to be perfect. No frills, easy data entry, gave you all the insights you’d want from a strokes gained app. Unusable after the refresh. I wish there was an option to go back to the old version. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-12-14* I tried multiple times and the app would crash after one hole. Submitted error through the app and didn’t get a response. Unable to restart the round where the app crashed and would crash when “edit round” was selected. ### 1/5 — App malfunctioned before I even got it set up! *2025-10-05* You know it’s a bad sign when you can’t even get logged into the app the first time. I went through the initial part of putting in my info, name, email, etc. Then the app freezes and won’t let me tap “get started”. I got the email from golf metrics welcoming me. So I close out the app and go back in and log on. It takes me back to putting my information in, but when I get to email it says it is already in use. So I close the app and log back in. Same thing. Close the app and try to start like a new account, same thing. So I’m in an endless loop of not being able to even log in and get started. I wanted to try this app based on hearing about it on “Chasing Scratch”, but after this experience and seeing other terrible reviews since the app made an overhaul, I guess I won’t be using it. **Developer response:** Hi Bubbegeez, Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately when I logged in last month there appears a paywall that doesn’t work no matter which option I selected. This has made the app unusable. I’ve reached out via the app and instagram and utilized the help menu but haven’t gotten a reply in 5 weeks. I can still see all my data but can’t enter new rounds. I absolutely love it. One request is that I’d like to be able to more easily “select all rounds” and do more trendline analysis and track progress. Another is to perhaps add toggles for SG against 5, 10, 15 handicap players. Love seeing how I stack up against pro and scratch, but more realistically I’d like to see how I stack up against the guys ill be playing against. Better filter ability when selecting rounds to include (like last ten rounds, rounds this year, rounds last year, rounds this month, last month, etc) 2. Time series analytics to compare improvement (for instance a chart that shows how one is improving on shots gained over a certain time range); this data acts as a feedback loop to validate my efforts to fix my weaknesses are effective. 3. Is there a way to add miss characteristics? I don’t want “basic” to sound like a criticism though - because it is wickedly fast to enter data as a result. I find the analysis incredibly helpful. One thing though, as of this morning when I use the app, it crashes after about 1 minute. Also, golfmetrics.com is not reachable on the web. Has the app/support been discontinued??
