## What is GoLightWeight?

The offline-first workout tracker built for serious lifters. Every set writes straight to your device — logging is instant, even with zero signal in the basement gym. Your numbers, not a feed.

LOG THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY TRAIN
• 459 exercises with illustrations and form cues — or create your own
• Supersets, circuits, and drop sets
• Warmup, top, backoff, and failure set types
• RPE or RIR effort tracking, tempo, and per-set notes
• Bodyweight, weighted, and assisted modes with true effective-load volume
• Cardio logging with time, distance, and pace
• Per-exercise rest timers and kg/lb unit override
• Plate calculator pre-filled with your working weight
• Interval timer for HIIT and Tabata
• Apple Watch companion buzzes your wrist the moment a rest ends
• Tag the exact machine brand and model you used

23 PROVEN PROGRAMS
StrongLifts 5×5, Starting Strength, GreySkull LP, Madcow, Texas Method, five flavors of Wendler's 5/3/1, PHUL, PHAT, Push Pull Legs, German Volume Training, and more. Each day loads exact sets, reps, and plate-rounded weights, and your training max advances from the lifts you actually hit.

ANALYTICS THAT EARN THEIR PLACE
• Automatic PR detection — max weight, volume, and estimated 1RM
• Big 3 total, volume trends, and per-lift strength charts
• Muscle map and muscle-balance radar
• Training heatmap, workout duration, and body-composition trends
• Monthly report with month-over-month deltas

YOUR DATA, YOURS
• 100% offline-first: no account and no signal required
• Sign in with Apple or Google to back up and restore for free
• Apple Health integration — finished workouts saved automatically, body-weight import, other apps’ workouts in your history (all optional)
• Export your data anytime; delete your account in-app

GO PRO
An optional auto-renewing subscription removes the free tier's one-workout-per-day limit and unlocks the deeper analytics panels plus hands-off background sync across your devices. Everything else — all 23 programs, the full exercise library, and every logging feature — stays free.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-16

Community is on its way — this update adds a Community tab with a preview of what's coming: a feed built from real logged sessions, routines you can pull straight from other lifters, and follow/block/report controls from day one. We're opening the doors gradually; you'll see it here the moment it's ready, no update required.

Also in this release:
• Cleaner workout labels when sharing a session (dates and exercise names instead of internal ids)
• Weight values in shared workouts now round sensibly (22.7 kg, not 22.67964…)
• Reliability fixes across sync and account sign-in

### 1.2.1 — 2026-08-13

This update tidies up the exercise library.

CLEARER EXERCISE NAMES
- Around 90 exercises now follow one consistent naming standard - Seated Dumbbell Curl, Single-Leg Barbell Squat, Smith Machine Bench Press, and so on.
- Old names still find their exercise in search, so nothing gets lost.

DUPLICATES MERGED
- Ten pairs that were the same movement listed under two names are now a single exercise.
- Your history, personal records and goals move to the surviving exercise automatically - nothing to do on your side.

MORE ACCURATE MUSCLE GROUPS
- Loaded carries now count as forearms, bodyweight conditioning as core, and the one-arm snatch as shoulders, so your muscle map reflects what you actually trained.

Plus: five exercises gained demonstration animations.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-12

This update makes your library smarter and your logging faster.

EXERCISE LIBRARY
- Import from past workouts: expand a day, pick individual exercises, even across several dates
- Multi-select filter chips, plus new Cable and Other categories
- Catalog aligned with NSCA standards: clearer names (Back Squat, Bent-Over Row) and corrected muscle classifications - your history, PRs and goals carry over, and old names still work in search
- Custom exercises get their own tab

WORKOUTS
- Countdown beeps in the final seconds of a rest - they sound even with the screen locked
- Rest countdown stays visible above the keypad
- Collapse an exercise card to keep long sessions tidy
- Programs can follow your training weekdays for accurate scheduling

MONTHLY REPORT
- Full-screen story with clearer insights, and a comeback summary when you return after a break

Plus: effort (RPE) tracking is now optional, choose your week start day, and fixes for a vibration bug in the options sheet.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-07

APPLE WATCH COMPANION
Your watch now buzzes your wrist the moment a rest period ends — even while your phone is in your hand. Start a workout on iPhone and the watch follows along, showing the current set and a countdown ring through every rest.

APPLE HEALTH
• Finished workouts are saved to Apple Health — with or without a watch. Discarded ones never are.
• Deleting a workout in GoLightWeight now removes its Apple Health entry too.
• New: see workouts recorded by other apps in your day history (Settings toggle, off by default).

80 NEW EXERCISES (379 → 459)
• Olympic lifts — clean, snatch, jerk, thruster and their variations
• Forearms — wrist curls, wrist roller, farmer's carry, dead hang
• Kettlebell — swing, Turkish get-up, clean and press, windmill and more
• Resistance bands — chest press, row, pull-apart, face pull, monster walk
• Conditioning and calisthenics — burpee, box jump, sled push, dragon flag, L-sit, muscle-up
• New Kettlebell and Band equipment filters

SMARTER RECORDS
• Bodyweight moves (push-ups, ab wheel, dips…) now set rep records instead of nonsense weight records.
• Volume now counts only the weight you actually lift — bodyweight no longer inflates your totals. Past workouts are recalculated automatically.

FIXES
• Kettlebell Swing volume was being counted twice. It is now correct — past workouts keep the numbers they were logged with.
• A newly saved routine no longer shows "0 exercises" in the routine list.
• Set the rest timer more precisely.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-07-28

This update is mostly about your data staying exactly as you left it.

Fixed
• Deleted workouts stay deleted. Deletions now sync between your devices instead of reappearing after a restore.
• Per-exercise units survive signing up. A set entered in pounds could previously be saved as kilograms.
• A backup that fails now says so. It used to report success even when nothing was saved.
• Opening an enrolled program no longer restarts it.
• Planned workouts start correctly and stay editable.
• Strength Progress is charted in each exercise's own unit.

New
• Settings follow your account. Units, bodyweight, rest timer, bar weight, goal and effort scale now arrive on every device you sign in on.
• "Replace backup with this device" in Settings clears out workouts you deleted before this update but that are still in your backup.
• Notes moved onto the exercise, with pinned tips and a look back at what you wrote last time.

Workout screen
• Delete any set, not just the last one. Swipe-to-delete is gone — the Delete button on the exercise card is now the single path.
• Add Set continues the block's scheme (pyramid, drop, top + backoff) instead of copying the last set.
• Load types read as Bodyweight, Weighted and Assisted, and the machine you picked is shown.
• Swap an exercise without losing its place in the workout.
• Warmup and drop sets are marked on shared workout cards.
• The app follows your device language on first launch.
