### 3/5 — A strange flaw

*2018-10-20*

When I touch start, it shows the beginning angle, then when I hit stop, it shows the ending angle. Do I have to add the numbers (or subtract) to get the total and turned. This shouldn't be necessary, unless I'm missing something. 'Start' should be set as zero, no matter the original angle, then rotating the phone would show the total and turned, regardless of original orientation. Did I miss something?

### 2/5 — Difficult to use on yourself

*2018-08-02*

I had hoped to measure my own knee ROM, but although you can hit the start button, it’s super difficult to find the end button when the screen isn’t in your line of sight. Would be great to be able to click the home screen or a side button to start/end

### 1/5 — Appt update

*2017-08-04*

Please up date the app it cost $4,.99 I need to use it on the new iOS coming out soon it been a long time you don't up date and need to collect money if not up date I need my money back I will continue to post

### 1/5 — Only works for select joint measurements

*2017-03-04*

Only works for joints in the sagittal plane. Does not work for any measurements where the phone is not vertical. Not worth the money, you can get a free level app that does the same thing. Seems good for patients post total knee replacement who want to measure their own progress, but not clinicians.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2016-11-25*

Does not work!

### 4/5 — Good goni

*2014-04-04*

Take a few minutes to get used to how it works, but it works alright. I use it for my PT classes and does the job

### 1/5 — Can't figure it out

*2013-07-12, version 1.0*

I am a home health occupational therapist & often find myself without a goniometer when I need it...so I bought this app. BUT I can't figure out how to use it correctly. If someone can tell me how I would appreciate it. There are no instructions on how to use it :-(

### 4/5 — It Really Does Work Once You Figure It Out

*2012-12-08*

This app really needs instructions on how to use it! It took me a couple of days to figure it out but it does give an accurate reading. Sooooo ..... I've been measuring my knee ROM. I sit in front of a mirror and first hold my iPhone against my thigh and line it up with the angle of my femur (thigh bone), making sure the "measure against this edge is at the bottom of the screen, and press start. Then, I move my iPhone to my tibia (calf bone) and line it up with the angle of my tibia bone, again with the "measure against this edge" at the bottom of the screen, and then press end. Wala! That's how you get a reading! I even took it to PT and the therapist and I got the same reading when she used her own professional gadget.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2012-05-22, version 1.0*

I can't get this to work. There are no instructions.

Would not recommend. Wish I would have bought a real goniometer instead.

### 1/5 — Half A Star

*2012-05-15, version 1.0*

This app:
-has no instruction on how to use. It ticks (as if somebody's snapping his/her fingers telling you to get started) prompting you to press 'START' (or else).
-after lining up the iPhones edge to static limb ie. femur, press start. Then line up the same edge to mobile/dynamic part (ie, tibia), press END. This gives you a fair to good measure of a cadaver's (knee) joint.
-if you have a live patient who can feel pain and has the ability to wiggle off from the starting/resting limb position - use a real goniometer. This app would give a false measure.

THE PRECEDING COULD BE THE ONLY KNOWN INSTRUCTION IN USING THIS APP.

Buy @ your own risk.

### 3/5 — Limited utility for a PT

*2012-04-06*

I would rate this more highly if features requested nearly a year ago had been implemented, namely, this goni needs to store multiple results and be able to measure in the coronal plane. Also, it would be nice if the tool could be zeroed with the iPhone oriented vertically. Finally, there really ought to be at least one illustrated page of instructions. $4.00 is a lot to pay for something so limited.

### 3/5 — Minor request

*2011-01-27, version 1.0*

Wonderful app. Asking for an update that will allow reading of Cervical rotation ( coronal/horizontal plane on a vertical axis). :)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Absolutes gibberish

*2025-10-05*

No real instructions. First angle doesn’t match what “instructions “ show, not level with phone. Totally useless. Don’t waste $4.99.

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work

*2021-09-06*

I can’t read the instructions, ie the start and end, can’t see which to press and thus far cannot figure out how to use this. For me, was a waste of money.

### 1/5 — This app doesn’t work

*2021-07-01*

This app is a scam. I followed the instructions and it does not work.

### 1/5 — Need better instructions

*2019-06-27*

The info page is okay but you still need to show an example of the numbers mean. Do I subtract the end measurement??
This wasn’t worth $4.99.

### 1/5 — Limited functionality

*2019-06-19*

Waste of money.

### 1/5 — Waste of money - DOES NOT WORK

*2019-03-23*

Seems like the developer has not updated the app with iPhones updates. This should be removed from the App Store unless it becomes functional. Do not buy until new reviews mention it has been updated.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-03-11*

Not worth the money if I have to figure out results after the measurements. The Goniometer should start out at zero and then give number after you measure.

### 1/5 — Needs update for IPhone 7 iOS

*2017-11-17*

Needs update for iOS 11.3.3 !!!!!
😡

### 1/5 — Wasted my money

*2017-09-05*

Wouldn't have given it one star, but had to in order to post a rate. After purchasing, I found out it won't work on IOS 11. The app needs to be updated. I feel ripped off😡

### 1/5 — Good luck measuring in the transverse plane

*2017-08-28*

I got this app with hopes that it would measure cervical rotation. Doesn't. App is also really shakey. I would not recommend it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It Works!

*2017-02-09*

Right on the money. Measurement agrees with the one my PT gets with a the old plastic one.

Now I can easily follow my progress after TKR

### 5/5 — Works well

*2016-05-05*

I’m recovering from a knee injury and surgery and am very motivated by numbers! My physiotherapist measures my knee angles weekly and I’ve been using this app to keep track of my own progress. Yesterday I tested this app against his real measurements in his clinic and they were right on target, off by about 2 degrees which is a fair margin of error for both the app (and his measurements). Overall I’m very pleased and will continue to use this app through my rehab! Thanks!

### 5/5 — Invaluable tool after total knee replacement

*2014-12-11*

I've never rated an app or anything online before but had to take a minute to tell you how invaluable your tool has been for me. I'm 48 and had a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago. I'm fortunate to have a top notch PT team at UCSF to guide me through rehab and, being a numbers person, wanted to buy a plastic goniometer like they use in PT to track my flexion & extension. On a whim, I searched for an app & found yours. Truly a fantastic way to motivate & push myself during home based PT. Has given me a great sense of accomplishment as I see the numbers creep up as the weeks pass. At 6 weeks post op today, I am at 115 degrees of flexion and pushing forward. I would HIGHLY recommend this app!! The PT staff had never heard of a goniometer app and have also been impressed with its accuracy and how easy it is to use. Thanks for making a great app!

### 5/5 — Nice App

*2014-04-04*

This app is quite similar to the physical device that I use. The fact that it has been made so similar and easy to use makes it very easy to switch to the digital version.

### 5/5 — A little boon of sorts...

*2014-04-03*

As a physio, I am fortunate to have found this app! Technological brilliance presented in such remarkable simplicity is highly appreciated. Kudos to the makers of this app. 5*

### 5/5 — Simple and Effective!

*2011-05-21, version 1.0*

As a homecare PT, I hate it when I leave my Goni in the car or a different bag. Well now I'm going to leave it in the trash. This app is exactly what I need. I figure, if goniometric measurements have a 5 degree variability between raters, this is more accurate. Thanks for such a simple and effective Goni app!

### 5/5 — Request for Feature

*2011-04-19, version 1.0*

This app is perfect as is. Would be nice if we could store more than just the last reading taken, would help me in my job immensely as a physical therapist.

### 5/5 — Replaced my goniometer.

*2010-12-20, version 1.0*

I am a PT that has been using this everyday now for the past week with pretty accurate results. Great App !

### 5/5 — Works Great !!

*2010-12-20, version 1.0*

Was able to get a hang of using it after trying a few times, I did not get the Start and End Position logic initially. Works like a charm now though.

### 5/5 — For Flexion and Extension

*2010-12-20, version 1.0*

Helped me push and measure flexion and extenion after knee reconstruciton when my therapist wasnt present
