### 2/5 — Checking in

*2026-07-06, version 1.15.5*

Hi Goodlife, not sure how much you paid the developers for this app but TBH its a waste. Suggestion is that you need to utilise the wallet function for check in as the method currently you use struggles to work at the best of times and also integrate account management in the app. If banks and other organisations can do this, I’m sure you can as well

### 2/5 — Aesthetically fine but dysfunctional

*2026-06-21, version 1.15.5*

The principal function of this app is to allow members to digitally access the gym; being able to see times for classes and the like are added benefits. Please make the change to NFC from Bluetooth.

This app using Bluetooth as its method to allow members into the gym has kept this app to a sub 2/5 rating. Having anything else connected to your phone via Bluetooth instantly reduces a successful scan from 80% to about 10% — the pitch of this app is to make the check in experience as convenient as possible, however this hasn’t achieved this. Too many times have I experienced first hand standing in the cold/rain and it taking multiple app resets and phone restarts to gain entry after hours.

### 2/5 — Terrible app check-in experience

*2026-05-01, version 1.15.3*

Looked forward to app check-in until it was rolled out. Frustratingly slow to detect phones, makes for an award with the poor welcoming team every time while they chime in with “it’s really slow today” (everyday).
Feels like incorrectly or insufficiently specified hardware readers as if it was an app issue would it not have been fixed with one of the many app updates so far?

If my company had paid for this solution & received such a bad solution, I’d be asking for a refund.

### 1/5 — Please allow physical access cards as a backup

*2026-04-18, version 1.15.1*

So, the app nags you if you haven’t updated to the latest version and blocks you from entering the gym if you haven’t updated. PLEASE AT LEAST ALLOW US TO USE TO THE DIGITAL ACCESS FUNCTION IN THE APP EVEN IF YOU HAVEN’T UPDATED. Sometimes a gym can be inside a shopping centre and you have no reception so there’s no internet to update on demand. Not everyone gets the update immediately. If you block physical gym access based on app version then at least bring back physical access cards as a backup option. Really, access cards are now much better in light of this poor app. It may have seemed like a good idea at first to use phones, but access cards don’t need to be kept updated continuously and don’t require internet access. This gotcha with using the phone app was not properly thought out.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-04-18, version 1.15.1*

This app has managed to make my life worse

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2026-04-13, version 1.15.1*

This is the worst gym app I've ever had. They used the Zapfit app template, just changed the colors and logo, but the guy who designed this app didn't put any effort into it. It's garbage.

### 2/5 — Logs me out

*2026-04-10, version 1.15.1*

I used to leave a positive review, but I can now confirm that just like other user, I have to log in anew almost every time I open the app.

I know what I’m doing:
• I never quit the app.
• I’ve selected “Remember me” on the log-in screen.

And yet the app doesn’t manage to accomplish something as simple as keeping me logged in.

Guys, it’s 2026. They just sent astronauts around the moon. I’m sure you can do this.

### 1/5 — Overreaching permissions

*2026-04-04, version 1.15.1*

No, I will not grant full write & READ access to my calendar. Adding a class calendar event should accept the available write-only permission! Also why do you need bluetooth permission?

App seems to require logging in. Otherwise isn’t too bad.

### 1/5 — No access when no phone data/credit

*2026-03-31, version 1.15.0*

I often run out of phone credit and the app does not load without credit… therefore sometimes I am unable to access my pass and unable to enter the gym and utilise the 24/7 membership I pay for. The app does not load on the shopping centre public wifi and I cannot access the gym wifi from outside. Not happy.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2026-03-22, version 1.15.0*

What a waste of time. Doesn’t work half the time. I can’t get into the gym. Just go back to the fob or barcode. Keep it simple stupid.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-03-16, version 1.15.0*

It won’t let me login into my account just says error retrieving data. Paying a weekly subscription and can’t even enter the gym after hours

### 1/5 — Why is this even a app

*2026-03-07, version 1.15.0*

The app is horrible and quite literally has no reason to even be a thing. The 24/7 digital access is horrendous, like they dont even try as it always acts up and gets removed from the app everytime i need to go to the gym, and every time i contact IT for support they tell me to do the exact same thing that they did before, which never worked. Please put in just a little bit of effort if your gym is going to be one of the most overpriced in australia, its ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2026-02-14, version 1.15.0*

Door access doesn’t work, no one to help as it’s outside staff hours and all the FAQs tell you to do is enable Bluetooth. Ok well what are the troubleshooting steps after that?

### 2/5 — Hardly works

*2026-02-11, version 1.15.0*

This app hardly works. Removes and downloaded again and message said it would no longer open the wallet app when you are using - guess what. Wallet opens when I hold against reader. Worked fine first week or so - now works 1 in 10 tries. Staff behind desk just tell me not to bother now most of the time.
Worked better when I manually added membership card to wallet and could use on Apple Watch !

### 1/5 — Where is Apple Wallet?

*2026-02-08, version 1.14.0*

Stop trying to invent your own systems. Where is support for the native Apple Wallet system? It can do everything you want - look at Woolworths Everyday Rewards.

### 1/5 — Digital access disappointing

*2026-02-07, version 1.14.0*

My app digital access constantly denies my access to my work and home gym which is huge inconvenience when I head out to the gym after hours and the I can’t get in at all. Huge issue that needs to be fixed! It’s just embarrassing at this point.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pretty much useless

*2026-07-30, version 1.15.5*

Takes ten tries for 1 success

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-07-26, version 1.15.5*

Pure junk. There was no reason to get rid of physical cards in favour of this poorly implemented mess that seldom works. The staff know it, the devs know it, so why they are continuing to force members to use this broken junk is mind boggling. Nobody asked for this.

### 1/5 — Annoying and slow and unreliable

*2026-07-24, version 1.15.5*

Slow fiddly poorly designed and annoying. I’d gladly go back to a magnetic card

What a mess.

### 1/5 — Great Gym, Terrible App

*2026-07-05, version 1.15.5*

Love Goodlife and the gym community and staff, so no complaints there, but the digital access is an absolute joke. You’re lucky if you can get in 50% of the time even with all the updates!

### 1/5 — Waste of Time

*2026-05-25, version 1.15.4*

Complete rubbish. Works less than half of the time

### 1/5 — Bad app

*2026-05-12, version 1.15.4*

Terrible idea, fob was 10x better.
People getting lazy and get told to download app or do it online.
Should be zero star to a minus

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2026-05-01, version 1.15.3*

Please allow physical access cards. The updates, the bugginess, the slow response and if your phone is dead. A few times had to go home rather than work out. Please revert to physical cards with a photo is fine but a PHYSICAL card that always allows you in the gym. It wouldnt be hard for someone to give their login to friends anyhow. This is DUMB. Goodlife sucks and so does this app as long as they force you to use digital means. I work in IT i dont want to have to stuff around with it at the gym. Stupid.

### 1/5 — Pathetic

*2026-05-01, version 1.15.3*

Literally never works. Was introduced to solve a problem that never existed. Perfect example of anti-consumer corporate behaviour

### 1/5 — Accessibility

*2026-04-30, version 1.15.3*

So frustratingly hit and miss with actually working.

### 1/5 — Quite possibly the worst app to exist

*2026-04-27, version 1.15.1*

Every single time I have to check into the gym and I’m sitting at reception for 10 minutes waiting for this app to load, and the utter refusal to give me a proper fob key really has me questioning why I use this gym at all. A complete waste of time this pathetic excuse for an app is

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Pretty good.

*2026-03-31, version 1.15.0*

Pretty good. Needs to let you know on screen when the machine turns green. Sometimes logs out. Other then that’s it’s been good.

### 5/5 — Product support is amazing

*2025-11-13, version 1.14.0*

The app has its issues, but I really like how quick product support replies to queries and fixes issue. Very good!!

### 5/5 — Review on app

*2025-09-25, version 1.12.0*

Seamless experience using this new app across multiple clubs and inside and outside of staffed hours. Another great initiative from Goodlife!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-07-30, version 1.11.4*

Love it

### 5/5 — Good app

*2025-07-22, version 1.11.3*

Happy that my club has digital access and the timetables are easy to use. Simple app but does the job

### 4/5 — Filters please

*2026-04-06, version 1.15.1*

Relatively intuitive app but would like a filter option to EXCLUDE certain classes eg Reformer as they just take up a lot of real estate if you’re looking at the timetable and you don’t have a Reformer membership

### 4/5 — Mostly fine

*2026-02-14, version 1.15.0*

I have to say that my experience with the app has mostly been “alright”. After the recent update the UI is a bit better (e.g. they moved the “Close” button), so it’s good to see that the app is actively being maintained, which is an achievement nowadays.
I’ve noticed that I and many other people at the gym have trouble getting the reader device to receive the signal from the phone, and it often takes quite a while until I find the position of the phone right. Since it’s the same technology as that used for wireless payments, it’s likely that the reader device is the issue and just doesn’t reach far enough.

### 4/5 — App crashes after updating - Fixed

*2025-07-22, version 1.11.3*

For others facing similar issue - it is an account problem. Contact the gym front desk, they will help to resolve it. Resolved it for me in a day.

### 4/5 — Visit History Feature Would Be Very Helpful

*2025-06-29*

I’d like to be able to see the visit history. I needed this information recently and couldn’t access it through the app. Hopefully, this feature gets implemente

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We are continuing to work on bringing additional features and functions to our app to improve our members experience and assist them in their fitness journey. I will pass your suggestion on to the relevant team for consideration. If you require any further assistance with regards to the app please reach out at https://www.goodlife.com.au/contact-us/

### 3/5 — Good but

*2026-04-24, version 1.15.1*

Good app. Easy to look at timetable. A few time it didn’t read my phone. However, my phone ran out of battery so I ended up standing outside the gym for ages because there was no one and my card key no longer worked :(
