### 2/5 — Can’t sync folders

I was expecting this app to allow me to sync a folder from my NAS to my iPhone but it seems to only be able to download a copy. Can’t see any value to it over using other similar file explorer apps

Despite the fact it says sync in the app name it is not really a sync app. It’s more an explorer of what you have stored somewhere else. They added the download feature, for the remote data, but this is not a sync. No integration with apple photos. For me this is crucial part of a eco system of a sync app to be available on all my devices. Plenty of completion for windows / linux.

Ça pourrait être une super appli mais on se sent abandonné quand on veut synchroniser ses dossiers de l’ordinateur vers l’iPhone 
La notice n’est pas claire 
J’ai déjà réussi à le faire sur pc mais étant passé sur Mac j’ai préféré laisser tomber en me rappelant comment j’ai transpire
Pour faire la synchronisation il faut un logiciel supplémentaire sur pc

The app appears to invite you to create username & password
Then tells you that you do not have a valid account..!!!???WTF?? 
Apparently you need to create an account elsewhere before using this app.

I'm a long time user of desktop Goodsync and love it. Mobile app has a long way to go. 

First, I'm not expecting miracles. Some of the reviews I've read think that the app should be able to do things that I know are limitations of the OS. That's fine. Still, there are some features that really need to be included for this app to be of any use. 

1.  App needs to be able to run in the background. Right now, if I start a sync job and then open another app, the sync freezes. Fixing this would (should) allow for automatic sync jobs like the desktop version. 

2.  Need to support creating and/or running jobs from the app. 

Right now, I have to grab my phone, open the app, then start the sync job at my computer - so all this app is really doing is saving me from having to connect my phone to my computer with a cable (since I have to be sitting at my computer anyway to start the job).

This sounded like exactly what I'm looking for - an easy way to synchronize files for a remote team. The app has no functionality built-in, though, until you have setup an account. 

OK, strange I can't setup my account through the app but whatever. I went to their website - I'm not 100% sure but I think I have to buy a license for each computer I use it on before getting a username/password? 

Lame...

It syncs the files well but viewing, editing and saving the files to to sync them again either does not work or opens the wrong file. Support has stopped responding to messages as it appears they have no solution. The money you spent on the desktop app is wasted.

While GoodSync is incredible at syncing between a Windows Server and a Synology NAS, this iOS app is utter FAIL. I cannot even get it to sync my home computer with my iPhone ("folders cannot be created here" error). 

I troubleshoot network junk all day at work and I shouldn't need to come home and troubleshoot an iOS app. Pro tip for any GoodSync employees reading this - QA your stuff before you release it. Imagine a typical user trying to figure this out. You should really fire your iOS team, because this is making you look bad.

Do not bother with this app.  Their support people give the same response no matter what the problem is.  They don't seem to even read the problem report or look at the extensive log file.  I've tried every version of this app.  I really want it to work but cannot get an intelligent response or get it to work reliably.

Wird von Western Digital als Ersatz für das hauseigene WDSync angepriesen, das eingestellt werden soll. Angeblich sollte die Funktionalität deutlich besser sein. Die App ist völlig unbrauchbar! Wofür kauft man sich einen NAS Speicher und eine App für IPhone/IPad zur Datensynchronisation? Genau.  Und das kann es nicht!  Die App ist nicht in iOS eingebunden, eine Synchronisation von Bildern oder Videos ist nicht möglich. Die App hat nicht einmal Zugriff auf das Dateisystem. Ich habe auch nach 2 Stunden Suche nicht herausbekommen wie man auf dem IPad ein Backup einrichtet. Keinerlei Erklärungen. Die Bedienungsanleitung ist ebenfalls unbrauchbar! Die Homepage kann man auch vergessen, nur schöne inhaltslose bunte Bildchen, keine Lösungen oder Erklärungen. Ich habe es lediglich geschafft die Dateien auf der NAS anzusehen, aber das hätte ich auch über den Browser machen können... totaler Reinfall... auf der Homepage des Entwicklers stehen ja so schöne bunte Bilder was der Sinn der Software sein sollte... hat sich von denen wohl niemand ernsthaft angesehnen.

Installando l’app sul nas riesci a vedere cosa c’è dentro ma puoi vedere foto e sentire audio, i video no e oltretutto il lettore è pessimo. In più dia iPhone puoi salvare solo nella cartella download non puoi sceglierne un’altra, su altri os non saprei....disinstallata e reinstallato MyCloud che non so per quanto ancora sarà disponibile ma per ora funziona egregiamente anche se un po’ pesantuccia in termini di spazio. FATE QUALCOSA!

Happy user of GoodSync since 2015, until a recent support request after paid upgrade. In my experience, GoodSync support is poor and condescending to loyal users. I was denied a refund when I realized the upgrade version doesn’t support my workflow.

Feeling pretty silly for recommending this greedy & unsupportive company to friends and fellow producers for the last 3 years :/

Tried for an hour to get a sync working. No luck. Cryptic interface. A simple back up my phone is impossible. A litany of vague messages: cannot create folder, filter is wrong (when I simply wanted ‘all’), etc, etc. gave up. The app is free but I paid for the Mac version. I was trying for the office and would have bought many more. Now looking for another solution.

Does what is should and became better since I last tried it some time ago. Decryption of folders stored online is a great feature. If it was possible to save the encryption password locally I would finally give a five star rating.

Addition:
Saving the encryption keys locally works if they are synchronized to the server.

I saw all the bad reviews and figure this would not be a good app but I was wrong.  Once you figure it out it is awesome.  I can send files to my home pc and I can get any file I want from my home pc by just browsing all the drives from my iPhone.  I think people thought this was more like a dropbox that you just set it and it does it thing.  Its completely different but I am really digging all the options that are available and what I can do.  Good job developers....keep up the good work!

Funziona egregiamente abbinato al programma Goodsync Pro versione PC. I files e le directories  vengono trasferiti e sincronizzati correttamente anche a due vie. Purtroppo non esiste la possibilità' di vedere e gestire i files direttamente su iPhone perché restano invisibili all'accesso sia dalla medesima app che da qualsiasi altra, quindi salvati, al sicuro, ma inutilizzabili!

The issue with other reviews is you need to have a paid copy of GoodSync running on another machine be it Windows or Mac. Then you can set up an account and run as a server on your machine. Then when downloaded on a ios device you can log in with the same details. This then allows you to run as a server on your device so your computer can see your device and you can set up sync folders. Also this allows you to explore from your device back to your computer. This should work anyway you have internet but find that the most reliable way is to VPN back to home network we’re my computer is sat running. This allows me to have copy of my work files on my iPad as iPhone doesn’t have any space but on my iPhone I can explore back to see the files needed. 
This isn’t explained in the app but as I have run the sync software for a few years went digging on the help section to work this out. Ideally this now needs to be linked to the files app as the files I carry on my iPad are available to see but hard to open in a app and change then to save back so that they sync back to my computer.
