You can’t search for items. It’s a store finder and a Blog??? ### 1/5 — App Malfunction *2022-01-25, version 3.3.12* I use to be addicted to shopping on this app & have spent thousands but now, I cant even go to the next page. It always times out. It says when you try to search something "oops looks like item can't be found" when I was literally just in it shopping. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS !!!!!! It goes to store and can’t login. ### 1/5 — The App is Terrible! *2021-11-24, version 3.3.12* I love shopping on shopgoodwill but this new version of the app is even worse than the previous version, which is hard to believe. The app is extremely slow and half the time doesn’t respond at all. When you’re searching through auctions and click on an item, once you are finished looking at that item and hit “back”, rather than going back to the place you left off, you are returned to the beginning of the last page you were on. So if you had scrolled through 20 auction listings, clicked on one to look at it, then clicked “back”, you are returned to the beginning of the last page you were on and you have to scroll through those 20 auction listings again. You also can’t set up how you view the listings. It gives you a choice of looking at them in rows of 3 across the screen (grid style), or in single rows down. If you prefer to look at listings going downward, one at a time, like I do, you can click to view them that way, but as soon as you look at an auction or go to the next page, it automatically goes back to having the auctions listed at 3 across the screen. It’s so frustrating that I have basically stopped using the app on my phone (which is how I used the site 99% of the time) I have purchased hundreds of items off shopgoodwill but I barely use it anymore due to the horrible app update. It’s a shame because I’ve gotten some fantastic deals over the past couple of years but it’s just not worth the hassle anymore ### 1/5 — Useless app *2021-09-23, version 3.3.12* I looked up my local goodwill store on google maps then opened this app and found it but couldn’t access it or use the app search to locate it I only found it because I already knew where it is it shows up on the map but the app don’t do anything at all but show a map this app makes goodwill look bad and should be pulled from the App Store. After wasting a lot of time I end up giving up. So frustrating, why bother having an App that's useless???!!! ### 1/5 — Inaccurate and Incomplete *2019-12-01, version 3.2.4* The first donation center the app sent me to had shut down. The next one I learned no longer takes donations. Having lost faith in the accuracy of the app’s information, I phoned the next two sites that were listed as accepting donations. The first one said they aren’t accepting any donations at this time and the second one said they don’t take furniture donations. The app does not provide any indication of the types of items accepted at any donation centers. Several of the Goodwill sites in my area were listed as having unknown hours. This surprised me. I would have thought the Goodwill App maker could learn the Goodwill Store hours. I concluded that the app is at best useful as an out-of-date phone directory of Goodwill Stores. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App is no good *2022-12-16, version 3.3.12* I had to delete the app because it wouldn’t even open after trying many times. I even tried to get the app to locate the local goodwill and it said not found. Hate the app isn’t good. So I fixed it by removing the app and not re-installing it. ### 1/5 — It’s a pointless donation app *2022-04-18, version 3.3.12* I downloaded this hoping to be able to have a physical app for the auctions so that I could get notifications of items I am watching and bidding on. Instead the app can’t even find the Goodwill that’s a few miles down the street and there’s no auction in sight. Put the stuff in the bins and the person asks if you have an account with them you give an email or phone number and a certain amount of points is added to your account so then when you return to donate or shop you can collect or use points to get discounts or something ### 5/5 — Easy to Use *2013-04-28, version 1.0* Found a location to drop off my stuff with one click. What’s happening is that when you first open up the app and allow access to motion and location, it can’t populate any stores around you, nor where you are via a dot. Appears to be using google maps Something fixable from the back end. I was hesitating because it only had one review but I figured let me tdy anyway. Googling is a pain in the neck for locating Goodwill Stores in my area. There’s is a bug where it won’t let you go past the find a Goodwill page. I thought I could find merchandise on there but obviously not. There is a constant pop-up to enable location and notifications. Is it so difficult to get the store hours and add them to the app? They also need to update periodically as some stores are no longer in business but are still listed in the app. ### 2/5 — Map doesn’t work *2019-01-27, version 3.1.0* The list view displays all of the locations near me but the map view doesn’t work-the map opens up but there aren’t any pins indicating where Goodwill locations are. The app does allow me to filter for retail locations and provides store hours which is more helpful than Google maps. I’d like to use this app to explore new Goodwill stores when I travel so I hope the map view is fixed soon. ### 2/5 — Data needs updating. *2016-10-02, version 2.0.2* Looks like the filters are working now. But, while on a road trip, I tried two "outlets" in South Carolina. The first one, in Georgetown, was just a retail store. The second one, in Charleston, had moved quite a while ago. Only by doing some searches, did I find their "regional" website, with updated store and outlet info. There needs to be more coordination of updating the store data.
