Google Assistant is pretty good with sort queries or short commands. However, sometimes when you ask more complex questions, it often times struggles and spits out the response sorry i don’t understand. Now Copilot and some other ai providers seem to handle complex queries pretty well. When i tried to ask google how to turn on my google nest hub gen 2 nightlight, it was like i don’t understand. When i asked my trusty ai friend copilot, it had no trouble at all guiding me through my google Nest Hub set up. Google assistant ai seems like its for small tasks. Lately, however, when I say “Google, play the news” (the very first command I give my phone each day), it just replies: “Sorry, I don’t understand.” This was one of my most-used and favorite features, and it’s now completely broken. It makes starting and ending my day much less convenient. Please bring back the working “Play the news” functionality — it’s a simple but incredibly useful feature for many users. Fix this soon! You don’t need to uninstall it right now just wait for the transition. The classic Google Assistant is still on iPhones that haven’t been upgraded yet and it’s also on low end or older devices. You don’t have to uninstall the classic Google Assistant (THIS APP) before or after downloading GEMINI. Upload an image of a schedule and have Assistant create the calendar events. This doesn't work since there's no camera or upload button. First it claimed to be able to do what I wanted, but couldn't answer when asked about how to upload a photo. It kept asking about when the event was. If I wanted to manually type in the event, I would have done so myself.
