### 3/5 — Meh

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

The app has janky interface. It does the basics of what you need it to do, but the original fitbit app before the switch was way better. This isn’t worth it really.

### 3/5 — sleep duration benchmarking

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Done everything suggested to get sleep duration benchmarking but nothing works. Any idea on when this will be updated?

### 2/5 — Period tracking crashes app

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Since Google Health has taken over the FitBit app, I can no longer track my period. When I click on the period tracking option, the app crashes and completely closes out. This was one of the features that I used the most. I’ve tried several options. No luck. I’ve read posts on the community page and this seems to be a common issue. Fix please!!

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work with Fitbit well

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

After they decommissioned the Fitbit app and switched to Google Health, you can’t check the weather on your fit bit watch without unlocking your phone and navigating to the Google health app (even if it’s open in the background), and the sleep function is really inaccurate. I’m often wide awake and it tracks it as sleeping. Steps and heart rate work well.

### 4/5 — Sleep efficiency

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

I think the Sleep Efficiency feature isn’t working. It tells me my efficiency percentage is 0% when I have slept 7 hours and was in bed for 7 hours and 12 minutes (Sleep score was 86). Shouldn’t the sleep efficiency be 97%?

### 3/5 — Layout is not good, needs work unfortunately

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

This app needs better organization across the various pages and the ability for user to customize more views. Also not sure why we’re unable to drag and drop the tiles around on the Today page.

I use the app with a Fitbit Air which is a great product, though I do think there are improvements to be made on:

-Step count: it counts a ton of regular arm movement as steps
-Sleep detection: it thinks I’m asleep if I lay still in bed even though I’m awake which throws off my total sleep time dramatically
-Women’s health: it doesn’t allow to simply start/stop periods easily the way most apps do, very hard for navigate.
-Stress: wish it had some more real time stress insights I could see as I open the app throughout my day to check in on how I’m doing.

Really hopeful Google continues to invest in the app experience and data insights. There’s great potential, just needs a fair bit of work.

### 2/5 — Fitbits app was much better

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

This new update to Google Health has felt like a step back that those of us who use fitbits are now forced to use. The app is clunky and updating items like water and monthly periods is slow and requires multiple taps and lags.

### 3/5 — Glitched

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

One day I realised my watch wasn’t recording anything It was supposed to and then it had two different screens overlapping each other and the screen was not moving the trick is to re set it and put it on charge 🙂😒

### 3/5 — Less of an app

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Having previously used the FitBit app for some time it migrated to the Google Health App the day after I renewed my subscription and I have to say that I’m disappointed!
Previously if my watch needed charging I could add any steps in manually by recording any walk etc but now it simply logs the activity but not the steps! There seems to be no way of manually adding in any activity achieved when not wearing the device. I have an alternative device that I use when the Fitbit is charging which tells me my steps but I can’t add them in. My Fitbit data is synced to a health program I am on and so it now records inaccurate data to it on the days my watch has been left at home to charge.
Overall the app is inferior in comparison to the FitBit app and has I known I would not have paid to subscribe for the year! I certainly won’t be renewing the subscription next year and don’t recommend this app if you need accurate data to sync anywhere else.

### 2/5 — Why can I see my lifetime data on one graph

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

On Fitbit I could see my weight data from when I first got my scales (04/2016) to current date on one graph, now I can only see one years data at a time, not a fan!

### 3/5 — No longer getting sleep efficiency scores

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

I’ve checked for updates, checked fit … what else can cause this?

### 2/5 — Useless

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Since Fitbit was purchased by google the app is useless. My versa 4 doesn’t sync to the app. I’m constantly removing and adding the Fitbit to try and get it to sync. I’m assuming there was an update a few days ago because since then my watch will not sync to the app.
It makes the Fitbit useless. I need to find another watch that isn’t Fitbit or anything to go with google. It’s a shame because I really love my Fitbit watch and have been using it since 2020.

### 3/5 — Dismissing A Card

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

When you dismiss a card, it stays there even if you move to another screen. I don’t want a coach. If I do, I will look for it. No need to keep asking me.

### 1/5 — crash！

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

crash！

### 1/5 — Disappointing Changes

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Yet another Google takeover that made the original product worse. This new interface is clunky & glitchy and made completely unnecessary changes to the very simple format FitBit used to be in. Every time you do anything, a white pop-up permanently stays at the bottom of your screen unless you tap it to make it disappear. All that does is block the screen. Additionally, the menu of food items you can search for seems to have shrunk. Things I could previously search and find immediately now don't exist. You can no longer save frequent foods as favorites, and you can't track for future days to meal plan. You also can't edit the foods you've already tracked for the day, so too bad if you make a mistake. This changeover is SO BADLY DONE. I put off this update as long as possible bc I knew switching to the Google version would ruin things. And I was right. I don't want to use my FitBit anymore and miss the former FitBit app. So frustrating.

### 1/5 — Hate this. Give me back my fitbit app

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

If I wanted google health I would have google health. This app sucks. Every time you do something a bar pops up on the bottom that tells you what you just did and it wont go away. It blocks anything else you try to do so you have to tap what you think is underneath it. And if you do it successfully then a new bar pops telling you that you did that. Its enough to piss off the Pope. I hate the new home page and how you log food. I have to look up almost every item I eat online since search options provided by the app are all insanely specific premade food and nothing basic. And if you can find something general it has no quantity options. It says the calories for (1). One what??? Gram? Oz? Cup? Tbsp???? The only reason I even have stupid app is my fitbit screen quit working when this new update came through and it said to make sure the app was updated to see if it would then work. Now I am stuck with this awful app and a still broken fitbit that is 3 weeks out of warrantee so I have a 50% off coupon. Thanks a lot. Funny how these always break within a month of the warrantee running out. Hope your 15th vacation home is worth it whoever made this decision.

### 2/5 — Google Health takeover reduces data & ease of use

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Changes made since Fitbit disappeared have made the App less user friendly & lost some functionality

### 2/5 — User unfriendly

*2026-08-24, version 5.06.1*

I appreciated my Fitbit until the conversion to Google Health. I am unable to track my sleep data, the history feature jumps back three months

### 1/5 — Won’t pair with my Device

*2026-08-24, version 5.06.1*

I have an iPhone 13 and an out of the box unused Alta hr Fitbit. This particular model IS included under the devices this app supports pairing with- but it won’t pair no matter what I try. The Fitbit is perfectly fine- it shows the code and powers as it should.

The answer I got in public help forums is that Google simply doesn’t support updates for this model anymore and there are unknown problems with connecting to certain iPhone models.

It’s incredibly frustrating and disappointing to be told my device is supported in app- then find out it’s actually not. When troubleshooting there was zero resources on failure pairing with a device. The FAQ pages only discussed syncing data issues. I couldn’t submit any proper help requests because it wasn’t even an option.

If a device is listed as useable- it should work! This was an extremely frustrating process!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Sleep tracking was not accurate since Fitbit changed to google health

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Sleep tracking was never accurate, show I only slept 3 hours that’s way off, missed the old app

### 1/5 — Bricked my Fitbit

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Since google took over the fitbit app my Versa4 has had constant recurring issues. At this moment the time on it is off by 3 hours. It quit recording O2, and the last two nights missed my sleep. The health app food logging is difficult at best. I have almost given up logging my food. I HATE this app and that Google took over control of my previously smooth tracking of health indicators.

### 1/5 — Google has ruined fitbit

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

I'm a fan of most things that Google does, but ever since purchasing Fitbit, Google is steadily destroying the product. In the past, my Fitbit watch was amazing at auto-detecting activities and sleep, and that's the reason I used it. Ever since Google bought the company, it's steadily become less good at detecting accurately the activities I do and the sleep. The latest update from Fitbit app to Google Health app has been a disaster-ever since, it simply does not detect my tennis matches, and this new AI coach has no memory context and so continually says idiotic things that are not helpful.

It’s crazy. in 2018 Fitbit tracked and identified my activities with perfect accuracy. It was amazing. In 2026, I have to manually enter every single activity since Google has no idea what’s happening.

It's a real shame. It used to be a good product. I don't see the point in it anymore.

### 1/5 — Bring back “yesterday” button, fitness scores,

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Bring back “yesterday” button

Bring back fitness scores

Too complicated to use now.

Improve accuracy!! Sleep scores are contradictory to readiness scores. Bring back clearer coaching, “take a day off” “get your cardio on”

### 1/5 — Won’t log simple foods

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Search for “Avacado” and nothing comes up. Can’t log any food.

### 1/5 — Battery life

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Since this last update (Aug 2026) my Sense battery dies after a few hours. Please fix it.

### 1/5 — Always crashes

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Horrible app. I’ve restarted and redownloaded countless times. Update, reset my Fitbit, and googled everything I could. Still crashes every time I open it. Never seen an app this bad before. So sad.

### 1/5 — Why did the app have to change ??

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Since Google took over this has been one the most un user friendly app to use. Have to go on a mission to find health metrics and even then you can’t see them all together have to click on them individually. My watch has only just re synced after not connecting for the past four days. And my battery now last less than half the length of time it used to. Not sure if this is a reflection of its age though. Just generally confused as to why the app had to change. I intended to buy a Fitbit for my mums birthday coming up but if I can’t find my way around the app then she will definitely struggle. Will be looking elsewhere for both of us.

### 1/5 — Too difficult

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

I do not like this change, too many steps to get things set up and now half of my Fitbit applications do not work. I cannot get my sleep set up to save me. Liked the old Fitbit app much better.

### 1/5 — Won’t record activities now, + also no longer syncing!

*2026-08-25, version 5.06.1*

Google health is AWFUL! The app won’t sync w/ my Charge6 without my manually doing so multiple times daily, and even then it isn’t successful on the first attempt. I have restarted my watch + phone, verified all updates are complete, my phone has the latest OS, deleted + reinstalled app, etc, yet I can no longer open my app and get a snapshot of my daily activity!
Recently GPS tracked activities are successfully tracked and then the stupid app won’t actually record them! The app locks up and won’t do anything further. Have to force close the app and (of course) when I reopen it the activity history is blank 😒 Thank goodness my Pacer app hasn’t failed!
The new GH app layout absolutely SUCKS! Fitbit was great, but I’m replacing my now “GH Charge6” with an Amazfit or Garmin.

### 5/5 — Eye opener

*2026-08-23, version 5.06.1*

The app shows me things I never thought I wanted to know or needed to know. Easy to use.

### 5/5 — Google kill devices

*2026-08-23, version 5.06.1*

Since update battery life on devices has been reduced to less than a day with no reliability

### 5/5 — Good just one problem

*2026-08-22, version 5.06.1*

This is good and I love my Fitbit but… I update my app and Fitbit and when I go to clock faces a few say NOT AVAILABLE so I don’t know how to get those clock faces

### 5/5 — SAVE THE HYRAXES 2; a follow-up of my previous review of ‘My Talking Kitty Cat’

*2026-08-21, version 5.06.1*

As you well know, hyraxes and their baby raxlets are being potatoed as we speak. “Who is doing this potatoing?” You may be wondering, none other than the evil potato makers. Every 5.2 seconds, a hyrax is turned into a potato. Every 5.2 seconds, an innocent creature is slaughtered for your “vegetables”.
But, the hyraxes are not as helpless as we had originally thought, and fight back against the potato makers. The raxes have learned to do something called a “potato make”, where they turn the potato makers into potatoes. It all started hundreds of years ago when a rax by the name of Greg was captured by the potato makers. They were just about to turn him into a potato when Greg pushed them into the potato machine. Greg then led the other raxes and raxlets out of the potato factory to safety. Ever since then, the potato makers have been hunting him down.

Will the Potato Makers get their revenge? Or will Greg escape? Well, that all depends on whether you download ‘Google Health (Fitbit)’ or not.

Download this app today to prevent any more raxes from meeting a horrible end at the hands of the potato makers.

### 5/5 — I liked

*2026-08-21, version 5.06*

I liked

### 5/5 — When Fitbit works, it’s the best

*2026-08-21*

Update one year later: I had to replace my Fitbit AGAIN, but I had the extended warranty, so it was easy. Trying to return/replace through Fitbit is not easy, but doing it through the extended warranty is easy. You just have to plan to replace it every year (and buy the warranty). Also, I really miss the challenges! When they sold out to Google, the challenges and badges disappeared, and I haven’t seen any benefit from being part of Google. Bring back challenges and flights of stairs! UPDATE TO REVIEW (June 2026): I love the new AI friend! She’s great and I can’t wait to read her comments every morning.

I’ve been a Fitbit user since the very beginning, and I love the technology, looks, reports (especially on premium), etc. What I don’t like is how “delicate” the watch is. It only lasts a year or 13 months. I got frustrated with Fitbit and went to Apple for 4 years, and my Apple watch is still going strong, however, I don’t like the reports and info Apple provides as much as Fitbit. I switched back to Fitbit 3 months ago and, again, I love the info and reports (I do miss the up/down flights of stairs info), but my watch is already having trouble. I may have to have it replaced. I am still within the warranty period, but the Fitbit return policy is not easy and I’m frustrated that I returned to Fitbit and I’m already having trouble. So, Fitbit is the best when it works. Apple is a close second, and their watches last for years without troubles.

### 5/5 — Sydney Simpson

*2026-08-21, version 5.06*

love you
