Lags. Crashes. Lights got stuck on during time change. The lights are great but I need a better app to control the light. Whole system has crashed and no update yet. When it works, it’s fine—but when it crashes (which it’s done twice for me), you instantly lose control of everything. No fans, no lights, no temp or humidity control. And there’s no manual override! The fan shuts off, lights stop following the schedule, and you’re basically stuck waiting for the app to come back. That’s a huge fail on Gorilla’s part—no grow system should rely 100% on a glitchy app. PLEASE get the app back up and running soon. ### 2/5 — Needs improvements *2025-11-08, version 1.3* Decent system & app but there are major issues with the app/host going down. 3 times there have been issues that do not get resolved quickly and can cause damage to current grows. This affects the operation of lights and completely eliminates any option for the exhaust fan since there is no manual on/off switch. I can’t believe how easy the setup was-no wires, no research. Plug and play. Their phone number doesn’t work. They do not reply to emails. Their kits make setup simple for growing the dankest flower at your home base even for idiots like me! The Smart Control makes it even more user friendly! Get it, you won’t regret it ### 5/5 — Solid app *2026-03-17, version 1.3* I ended up going with the full gorilla system and honestly it's been amazing so far. The standout piece for me is definitely the xi420 light. My plants have been growing so crazy dense under it, I've gotten some of my best harvests using this setup. When I was first setting everything up I had a small issue getting the light connected through the app, but their support team was awesome and helped me troubleshoot it pretty quickly. Really appreciated that. The app itself works well overall, but I do have a suggestion for the devs: it would be really nice if they added the ability to save multiple custom schedule presets instead of having to rebuild them every time. Other than that though, the system and the light have been incredible and I'm super happy I went with gorilla 👍 ### 5/5 — Gorilla grow 🙌🏻 *2026-02-06, version 1.3* I just recently purchased the 5x5 grow tent kit that they offer. It’s amazing! One harvest done and many more to come. I’m so happy with the results that I got and the app made this whole experience even better than I thought it would. You can also set a target temperature and the inline fan will turn up and turn down to keep you right at it. Works really well. Also love the real time monitoring from my phone and the alerts if something goes out of range. It lets you seamlessly control all GXi gear so easily. I can literally dim my light from my phone, and control the light channels as well as their respective intensities individually. The automation and presets are a really nice touch. It also tracks your VPD history which really helped me fine tune and get my environment dialed in exactly how I wanted. Super cool how everything works together to make my grow very manageable. Cannot hype this up enough. Wish more companies were doing this.
