I have used this app for years. The last year or so the compass doesn’t work correctly. It’s showing E when pointing to the SW on my iPhone. I’ve tried the tips, precise location and calibration with the figure 8 pattern. Nothing has worked. Perhaps someone can give me some advice as I’ve always loved this app. Thank you.

This app really is elegant and easy to use. The only thing that keeps it from 5 out of 5 is the slippery clunkyness of the time and location interface. Fix that and PERHAPS icing on the cake add a geo specific horizon (solar parallax and proper motion drift? I don’t know)  - THeN you have something to build another Stonehenge with! 

All the same - you want to be able to “see” the path of the sun under the earth at night? The realm of Osiris made “real”? There’s this app for that. Totally enjoyable and useful ecliptic positions.

アプリの解説で、画面中央に天体などを持ってくると詳細が開くような話だったので、別アプリも持っているが買ってみた。

画面中央に天体を持ってきたら、音声で簡単な解説でも入るのかと思ったら、惑星の場合に天体名を言うだけ。しかも金星が「きんぼし」、天王星が「てんのうぼし」だったりする。
さらに言えば、独自の解説は無く、ウィキペディアに繋がるボタンがあるだけ。

かなり昔からあるようだが、他のアプリに取って代わられている。
もう少し努力して欲しい。

大三角形などの説明や天体の見つけ方を説明している、プラネタリウムの簡易版なら『World Museum』がある。このアプリは箱庭の中を歩き回ってサファリパークや博物館を散策することもできる。
本アプリと同様のものなら、もちろん『Star Walk』シリーズが良い。『Star Walk 2』では星座の星の地球からの距離を含めた実際の大まかな位置関係や神話の解説も見ることができ、人工衛星も網羅されている。

This is my favourite planetarium app by far. 
Easy to use, and the “find an object”  and Wikipedia links are 2 of the many great features. A complete novice can master it in minutes and make you an expert of the night sky.

I have been using this app for years and it works every time! Accurate, consistent, fun and informative. It is the best one I have found for stargazing. It works on an old iPhone 6 as well as an iPad 9th gen.

The suite of Astro Apps coming from this developer is in my opinion the best you can get on the subject. Easy to use, understand, and manipulate the views, etc. The data is extensive and interfaces with the graphics seamlessly. Even without a scope this app is a educational tool. If anyone interested in astronomy and it’s ‘brothers’ ie.ISS etc don't find these apps of use suggest one takes up another pastime... maybe Astrology!

I’m wondering why I see the sun showing on the app as if it has just gone down past the horizon in the west, while simultaneously watching it rise in the east with my own eyes? Broken

Privacy policy hasn't been updated since Apple required it starting last year.

Developer replied about app not being updated because it doesn't need to be updated.  They are apparently the worlds best software developers and have made the perfect software that wouldn't benefit from new features and is also completely bug free. 

They didn't address the lack of a privacy policy update.  They could easily do that at least as a show of good will.

Get SkyView Lite instead. This app points in the entirely wrong direction. The compass is off and the horizon is reversed somehow. I’ve now gone through app updates and iOS updates and no changes.
The iPhone Compass app is correct as are all other navigation apps and SkyView Lite.

...every time i reset my phone (about once a year) its impossible to find the app to re-download it. Goskywatch is not categorized under stars, stargazing, star watching or even “sky”. So it always takes me 10 minutes to remember the un-memorable name of the app. Which apparently isnt searchable in the app store unless we all remember the apps name.

Ich hatte mir sehr viel mehr erhofft. Schade ums Geld. Nicht empfehlenswert. Der Mond wird als Mars bezeichnet, bei vielen Sternen/Planeten wird ebenfalls eine falsche Bezeichnung angegeben. Völlig Unbrauchbar, schade ums Geld!

Ich habe die App von P.M. Schon viele Jahre auf dem iPad und dem iPhone damals war sie umsonst. Trotzdem habe ich sie gekauft um zu unterstützen. Ich bin wirklich davon angetan. Andere Apps sind komplizierter hier ist der Umgang einfach. Auf den Punkt ausrichten den man sieht und schon kommen die Informationen. Es lohnt sich für wenig Geld ein gutes Ergebnis.

I bought this years ago and it never fails to fascinate and inspire me. An object in the sky appears, not twinkling so you know it’s a planet but which one? Launchpad this app, point your phone at the object and there it is in front of you, alongside the other planets and stars relative to the original object position. Simply brilliant!

I have had this app for years and nothing works better for finding out which star I’m looking at whether it’s a planet, star, or an airplane. There are also many other great features, the sun tracking I use to plan my garden. There’s also a setting labeled “Pluto is a planet” 1000/10

One of the first apps I installed when I got my first iPhone, and still use regularly.   No fancy VR nonsense, just tells you what star that is.  Still works on iOS 18 and I hope it always works. The other apps are not as functional.
