### 2/5 — Circles need some work

*2026-06-10, version 2.8.0*

Our ward uses circles for communication and it is very annoying with several bugs. Take some people from your tools team and have them work on this app.

### 3/5 — Please fix some things, Lots of potential & very helpful for the ward!😇👍

*2026-06-08*

Very helpful and all on board trying to implement in our ward because of major benefits (easy to connect with applicable councils& organizations and to get connected, oriented & informed right away in ward. Plus the added perk that anyone that this can help with retention when moving to other wards if implemented there. Nice to have lots of church related communication all in same place) However, please improve to have ability to react to messages (to like/love/laugh/etc.) ~ an easy short-hand for engaging in the conversation without blowing up the messaging thread & helps as the sender to know if people saw announcements/invites/etc. for planning purposes. But especially pleeease fix the notifications lag/update issue. For some reason, even if I’ve clicked on and viewed a message, there’s a perpetual number indicator of 1-4 messages being in circles to be viewed. It’s very confusing and counterproductive cause it means I may ignore and miss an actual update because the notifications for messages coming in are continually outdated. Thank you for your time and consideration. Really hopeful to see future improvements 🤗

### 3/5 — Simple to use, glitchy

*2026-05-20, version 2.8.0*

I love that it is simple and easy to use. I dislike the issues it has. Sometimes, I will see and get notifications on my phone, but when open the app, I can see or find the comment that was made by someone.
I have had to remove the app and redownload a few times. Again, I love the design and the set up, dislike that it’s got problems.

### 3/5 — Circles needs work

*2026-05-06, version 2.8.0*

I love that we have this app, but the circles messaging feature is missing so many things. It gets super noisy and I know a lot of people just mute it entirely so they don’t get inundated with notifications. We really need a way to message on this app with more fine grained control over who sees the message. This app is so instrumental for communication within wards in North America, so please please improve it!

Really I feel like this app has so much potential, but currently it is not useful because:
- courteous technology users are hesitant to post anything because it creates noise for everyone else on the app
- less technically savvy people don’t know messaging app manners and post all sorts of random stuff, creating noise for everyone else
- people who are fed up with the noise turn off notifications altogether
- leadership can’t get important communications out because everyone muted the app 😕

Some things I would love to see:
- a way for wards to create their own smaller channels according to their interest groups and needs, with control over membership and who can post. We need an announcement channel that only presidencies can post on. It would also be great if we could create custom channels for things like activities, book clubs, etc. that people who are interested can join without causing noise to those who don’t want it. These need to have fine grained notification control so people can decide which channels they want to get notified about.
- For heaven’s sake: PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME A NOTIFICATION FOR A THREAD I’M NOT PARTICIPATING IN! It defeats the whole point of threads. Only users who are watching a thread should get notifications for it.
- Reactions! Please please please add reactions so that people can acknowledge that they saw a post without sending a message and cluttering up the whole channel!

### 4/5 — Needs a new feature

*2026-02-21, version 2.8.0*

This app is really great and super helpful, but there’s a feature I’ve been wanting for quite some time now. Is there a way to add reactions to messages? I don’t always want to reply to a message so being able to react to it would be fantastic

### 2/5 — WhatsApp works pretty well for ward communication

*2026-01-07, version 2.8.0*

May members around the world find the functionality they need in WhatsApp. Do we need to be paying to develop a separate Circles app?

### 3/5 — Age range

*2026-01-07, version 2.8.0*

Please make this 12+ not 13+. My daughter needs this app on her phone since she joined young women’s but even though I’ve changed parental controls, Apple won’t show this app on her phone because she’s 12. It doesn’t make sense to make the app for 13+ when 12 year olds need to use it.

### 3/5 — Circles

*2025-09-08, version 2.7.4*

Viewing my child’s deacon quorum circle it doesn’t give me the option to comment all the time, so I have to reply to what someone else said to get information.

It would also be nice to have an “emoji” or “thumbs up” or “heart reaction” to what other people say.

### 4/5 — Needs the ability to delete old messages.

*2025-08-03, version 2.7.4*

App needs the ability to delete old messages. Also, as presidency’s change. It would be nice to be able to remove old presidency & teachers from certain circles

### 4/5 — Getting there

*2025-08-01, version 2.7.4*

Good content and direction. My major complaint is that the Circles notifications don’t turn off. I keep turning them off and I keep getting message alerts. I’m going to have to turn off notifications for the whole app.

### 3/5 — Getting there

*2025-07-21, version 2.7.4*

But silencing notifications for a group doesn’t work. They still come up. So I’ve had to silence the app as a whole (especially as people start using it for conversations which sends it to everyone every time).

### 4/5 — Really great!

*2025-07-14, version 2.7.4*

It’s like wholesome social media!Because almost everyone has social media everyone can pick up on the style and feel for the app quickly. An improvement I would like to see is to be able to “like” a comment in the circles section. You could use only positive emojis, (👍❤️😊etc.) but a way to interact beyond replying would be great. Other than that I love it, super useful!

### 4/5 — Glitching

*2025-07-08, version 2.7.4*

I love the communication, I dislike that there are some circles that I cannot comment on that I am supposed to be able to. The parents portion of my children’s circles and my personal family circle, to be precise.

### 2/5 — Can’t Post In a Circle I am in

*2025-06-27, version 2.7.4*

Thanks for fixing a bug, but now I can’t post in a parent chat and the leader can’t post either. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app but that didn’t fix my problem. I love the concept of the app. I guess it’s just having a “bad hair day”.

### 4/5 — Lots of potential

*2025-04-29, version 2.7.3*

Our ward has been switching over to this app. There are lots of cool features, like being able to add in activities and track goals. However, I would love to see some bugs fixed mainly in circles.
-when you type a message in circles if someone else in the group send a message at the same time it ends up erasing the message you are typing.
-sometimes messages don’t show up and there is a lag in the notification and when you are able to read the message.
- I would love to be able to move group chats so the most prevalent ones are at the top.
-it would also be nice to be able to react to message such as “loving, liking, questioning, etc” similar to how iPhone has it.
I hope someone from the development teams checks these reviews to help the app run smoother. There is a lot of potential for this app and I think it would be better utilized if these bugs were fixed. Thanks!

### 4/5 — I love this app!!

*2025-04-18, version 2.7.3*

I love this app, even though it's a little buggy. Hopefully, it'll get better over time.

### 2/5 — Yes

*2025-04-10, version 2.7.3*

Yes

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Frustrating at best

*2026-01-22, version 2.8.0*

Between not updating automatically and not having a place to manually update information this app is garbage. It works and then it doesn’t and I keep having to uninstall/reinstall the app. For a church with so many resources they should put more of them into making this thing better

### 1/5 — Circles Messages

*2026-01-21, version 2.8.0*

Message notifications don’t show up in some areas and won’t clear after being viewed in others. Even after deleting and reinstalling, there is no improvement. Circles is unreliable and frustrating.

### 1/5 — App is good but faulty

*2026-01-19, version 2.8.0*

The app design is good however there is an issue with notifications. You don’t receive notifications for the app and once you read the recent messages it never clears that there are “new messages” so it always looks like there are unread messages and in turn never notifies you when there are new messages. It’s extremely annoying.

### 1/5 — Who did this

*2025-08-28, version 2.7.4*

I click on notifications and it doesn’t take me to the message and I have to find it. Sometimes the message doesn’t show up till the next day. Having tools work so that when you need to communicate with a group through text seems like a much better idea than this half baked dumpster fire.

### 1/5 — Allow People to Delete Personal Information!

*2025-08-24, version 2.7.4*

There is no way to delete your personal contact information. Even if you remove your information from the LDS Tools app. Where is the data pulled from?!

### 1/5 — Atualização em português

*2025-06-04*

O aplicativo não recebe atualização e mensagens novas desde janeiro de 2025

### 1/5 — Needs Work…

*2025-04-23, version 2.7.3*

Still at work in progess. Notifications are still very buggy and not reliable.

Also, I noticed that when you type a long message in the app, it will not display the entire message. Users have to tap the message to display the full text, but there is no indication that the text continues or that tapping on the message will display more text. You can’t assume that people will automatically understand how to reveal the rest of the message.

### 1/5 — Circles is REALLY Frustrating

*2025-04-22, version 2.7.3*

I have to believe the church’s IT department could do better than this. Notifications appear weeks and months after posts are made. Some posts can be seen by some, but can’t be seen by others who should be able to at least view, if not respond. Clicking on push notifications sometimes takes users to the relevant post or comment, but more often it doesn’t work. Circles does not work well, consistently, for anyone I know.

### 1/5 — Goals Broken for Months

*2025-02-23, version 2.7.3*

Keep contacting support to indicate goals are broken and get no response. Goals used to show the calendar if you missed marking a day. They don’t now. The workflow is hard and duplicative when you set up reminders. Please rework this area. So much potential.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2025-02-01, version 2.7.3*

This is one of the worst apps I’ve tried to use. It’s complicated and when it tells you there’s a notification it’s nearly impossible to find that notification in the app. We have a large family so the number of circles is way too many for the app to not take you directly to the notification when you click on it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Please fix the bugs in circles!! It is so needed for ward communication.

*2026-04-11, version 2.8.0*

I get notifications about updates in circles but the app doesn’t refresh in time to see the actual chat or event in the app, despite me closing, refreshing, updating, etc. Sometimes an activity or chat will only show up days or weeks after it was posted. Sadly, it’s just not reliable for ward communication needs.

### 5/5 — Please fun Friday

*2026-03-18, version 2.8.0*

Please add back fun Friday

### 5/5 — Circles: Great idea, functionality poor :(

*2025-07-20, version 2.7.4*

I get notifications about updates in circles but the app doesn’t refresh in time to see the actual chat or event in the app, despite me closing, refreshing, updating, etc. Sometimes an activity or chat will only show up days or weeks after it was posted. Sadly, it’s just not reliable for ward communication needs.

### 5/5 — Simple

*2025-07-09, version 2.7.4*

Simple to use, provides inspiring tools, and simplifies communication with all who choose to use the app

### 5/5 — Adding individuals who are not members

*2025-03-16, version 2.7.3*

How does one add individuals who don’t have a membership record?

### 5/5 — Firm

*2024-10-01, version 2.7.0*

This is a great app and you can watch videos and listen to music on it

### 5/5 — Great App, but links don't work.

*2024-10-01, version 2.7.0*

Gospel Living is used extensively in my Ward and Stake. Unfortunately, every Fast Sunday the Clerk posts Zoom Links. Recently, those have not been "clickable". They are just plain text. The text can be copied and pasted, but otherwise are not interactive. Android version doesn't seem to have this issue.

### 5/5 — Very Usful

*2024-05-26, version 2.6.1*

:)

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2024-02-18, version 2.6.1*

I am so happy to see the bugs have been worked out of this app! I do have a suggestion that would make this app complete. A full calendar! So activities could seen all at once. This would help with planning activities so much easier. This one feature would make this the perfect app. I would also love for something to be sent out by the church reminding the saints of this app since all the bug fixes. Many went away and haven’t come back or have never heard of it. This is too a valuable resource become this obscure!
