## What is Got Dill? Shared Grocery List?

The apps that organise your shop properly cannot take a spoken list. The apps that take a spoken list do not know your shop. This one does both.

SAY THE WHOLE THING AT ONCE
"We need milk, bananas, chicken thighs, oh and coffee." Not one item per command — the whole sentence, the way you'd say it to someone in the kitchen. It comes back as separate items. Paste a wall of text, photograph a recipe or a handwritten list, and the same thing happens.

THEN YOU APPROVE IT
Nothing goes on the list until you say so. You see every item it thought it heard, you drop the ones you didn't mean, and only then does it land. Where it is unsure it says so and asks, instead of guessing quietly. It is your list — a machine does not get to write on it while you are not looking.

IT LEARNS YOUR SHOP, NOT A GENERIC ONE
Say you have arrived and the list regroups under that shop's aisles. Tell it once that tahini is in aisle 4 at your corner shop and it stays there — for you and for everyone else in the house. What it suggests for the next new item comes from what your household has actually bought in that shop, not from a category list somebody else wrote. Ask it to place a whole trip's worth at once and it will. Keep as many shops as you use, each with its own layout, each in the order you personally walk it.

EVERYONE WRITES ON IT
Your partner adds something from the office and it is on your phone before you have put it down. No sending it, no sync button, no second copy quietly going stale. Every line says who put it there, so a mystery item has someone to ask. Everyone can see when a trip is underway, so nobody comes home with a second bag of onions.

IT WORKS WHERE THE SIGNAL DOESN'T
The list is already on your phone. Cross things off in the freezer aisle with no bars and it catches up when you come out. Say which aisle you are standing in and that is recognised on the phone itself — no connection needed, nothing sent anywhere.

NOT EVERY ERRAND IS A BIG SHOP
A quick trip is a scratch list that lives on your phone, syncs nowhere and never turns into a suggestion. If a trip ends at the wrong shop or gets cut short, putting the list back is one tap.

HAND IT TO SOMEONE OUTSIDE THE HOUSE
Someone offers to do the shop for you. Hold up a square, they point their phone at it, and your list lands on theirs — without joining your household, seeing your history, or seeing anything you write afterwards.

THE SMALL THINGS
Attach a photo to anything words will not cover — the exact jar, the brand she likes. Add a note that expires when the trip does, or one that stays on that item for good.

Finished trips become suggestions, so next week is mostly tapping things you already buy instead of spelling them out again.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.18.0 — 2026-10-07

A new camera for list photos, item photos and aisle signs. Tap anywhere on the picture to take it, or press a volume button. Zoom by pinching or by sliding a thumb along either edge.

Every editing screen now has Cancel and Save. Nothing changes until you tap Save, and swiping away unsaved changes asks first.

A free-code link opened before installing the app is picked up after you sign up. Tap Allow Paste when asked.

An aisle typed on an item during a trip now saves.

Tapping Retry on a slow start no longer shows a "CancellationError" message.

### 1.17.0 — 2026-10-02

An empty list now shows four ways to fill it: Speak, Camera, Photos and Paste. Paste takes a list straight from Notes or a message. Afterwards, the same four sit behind the clipboard icon in the search bar.

Off-grid trips now know every one of your household's shops and where items are in each, not only shops this phone has visited.

Deleting your account now closes it straight away and deletes it after 30 days, so a mistake can be undone by writing to support@got-dill.com.

The sign-up code screen and email say the code lasts 24 hours and how to get a new one. The code submits itself on the sixth digit, and number pads have a Done button.

### 1.16.0 — 2026-09-28

Fixes for shared households. Removing, deleting, renaming or editing an item now shows up on everyone's phone straight away, not only after pulling down. A phone that loses its connection for a moment now reconnects by itself.

Checkout. A new standard section at the end of the walk for the gum, mints, candy and cold drinks by the registers.

At the shop, tapping the shop's name opens its menu, and the menu says whether you are shopping, helping or watching.

Read a Reminders list. In Settings, the app can pick up what you add with "Hey Siri, add milk to my shopping list" and put it in your inbox for review.

The app icon no longer has a white line along its top edge.

### 1.15.0 — 2026-09-26

Terms of Use. The first time you open this version, the app shows the main points of the terms and asks you to agree. It asks once.

Aisle details. The pencil on an aisle opens a sheet where you can edit its name and what is in it. Each aisle shows the words from its sign, and Map with AI uses them when placing items.

Fixes: the sign-in screen no longer shows a "session expired" warning; a phone with no saved sign-in goes straight to sign-in; and a refused household invite says why without asking you to try again.

### 1.14.0 — 2026-09-25

Invite links. The invite message now ends with a link. Without the app it opens a page with the code and the App Store button. With the app it opens the join form with the code filled in. Codes last a day.

The aisle order can learn from how you shop. When two trips in a row walk a store the same way and it differs from the layout, the next trip start shows that order on a card. Drag it into shape, then use it or not. Nothing is rearranged on its own. Each store has a switch on its page.

Photograph an aisle sign. From the store's Aisles screen, the app reads the sign and adds that aisle with what it lists. Items still without an aisle can then be mapped with that knowledge.

Dictation Shortcut. The list offers it once, and Settings keeps a way to it.

Fixes: watching a shopper no longer shows the list under NO AISLE YET; the At Store search bar has the same import button as the list; the "things you said" inbox clears when opened; an import review cannot be swiped away; one Aisles row in the trip menu with a pencil to rename; the split-the-shop sheet says who it is for and where they tap; profile colour can be changed on every account.
