### 3/5 — Fundamental Changes

*2021-12-27, version 7.15.2*

Cute logo. You look less like Walmart. Good for you.

You also moved or changed some of the fundamental tools that every presenter uses like “Mute All”!

I have 52 people attending every week on site and virtually. About 25% are elderly and are “Challenged“ by the technology.

When I can’t help them by Muting their end we hear every car drive by, every dog that barks, the healthcare providers who walk in and ask VERY “Personal “ questions. I hope you get the idea.

We will SEARCH for all the tools we need, but an instructive email in advance of the changes would have been helpful.

Leaving the key operators ALONE! would have been helpful.

Of all the platforms out there we sought out GoTo because we KNOW how superior you are compared to the upstart Trick of the Day platforms that are are STILL trying to measure up to YOUR reputation.
What a dreadful shock when we discovered in the meeting that you had bowed to change for change sake like the others.

We are not leaving you.

We just will not trust you as implicitly in the future.

Sad day.

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2021-11-03, version 7.14.0*

Was using the GoToMeeting software on my laptop and it was great, recently switched to the iPad Pro and not so great. The controls I had on my laptop are missing - like the ability to mute those who refuse to mute themselves. Also I can not close the meeting using the “close meeting for all” button, I have to exit the app and close the app to close the meeting. It’s much better on a laptop. I don’t recommend if you as the presenter are using an iPad Pro.

### 4/5 — Video dropped/speaker dropped

*2021-10-25, version 7.14.0*

I was just doing medical/doctor visit, and there was issues with my microphone kept muting and un-muting. And then when my video call came through I was about two minutes into the call and MY video dropped where I could see my doctor but she couldn’t see me and then all the sudden the speaker dropped too, but we could hear each other through our phone line. During the meeting I had gone to settings after this happened and went to turn the video back on and it said ‘turn video off’… So my video was still on but it just wasn’t working. So we just completed our call w/out video or sound, through the app.

### 3/5 — No wonder why...

*2020-11-26, version 7.12.1*

I kinda was wondering why this app is falling behind zoom, but after last time I tried to organize a meet I know why. The platform needs lots of fixes. I had an account with it, so I tried to log in through the app, but after I put my email it took me to the page where the only message or a clickable button was “not me”. I didn’t know how to proceed further, as there wasn’t anything else, it didn’t even say your email is not registered or anything that could have given me any hints for further action.
I tried through the website, and seems like I had to register the email. I go back to the app after registering through the website, and there the name is not what I used to register. It has the name I used before, although the new information I put was different. Gave me multiple error messages and asked to try later while creating a meeting.
Shortly, they are not trying to keep up with the market.

### 2/5 — Not Quite Zoom

*2020-09-29, version 7.11.0*

Honestly I am not impressed. I used it as a presenter, and a participant. Why can’t they just make both mute for sound and turning off video both red icons when off and both green when on? It is maddening to me that you can’t be sure if you are on camera or not especially if you enter in the middle of a slide share, not very intuitive. It seems they go out of their way to be different and fail in the process.
Same with the chat room, it’s too hard to mute everyone and hard to dismiss people, too many steps and hard to find icons.
The worst of it all is the set up, my co-presenter and I didn’t know if we had certain permissions and control, I had to log on as a guest and test to make sure I could perform simple tasks that everyone in the room could see. No I’m not technically challenged, but when your a presenter that’s your concern, not laboring over dum issues that should be intuitive.

### 4/5 — GoTo meeting is an incredible tool but can overheat your cell in a meeting.

*2020-07-02, version 7.9.0*

I have used GoTo meetings in the past. The software is extremely helpful for meeting with our clients around the USA and even a few around the world. GoTo recently started to overheat and shut off after a 20min video call. Support reached out to me after posting my bad review. All apps need to be closed. I’m good about always having my apps closed but I’ll have to double check. GoTo has great support and I’ve revised my rating. I am doing only 4 stars because there are times when we have audio problems in calls and when reaching out to GoTo, it’s an issue they’re resolving. Excellent communication with support and always ready to help!

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for your feedback. We have tested GoToMeeting with an iPhone 8 and did not run into battery or overheating issues. Can you confirm that no other apps were running in the background? We regularly hold our meetings via iPhones or iPads to make sure that we experience what our customers use every day. If you have more details, kindly let us know. Thank you, your GoToMeeting team.

### 2/5 — A disappointment

*2020-07-02, version 7.9.0*

I signed up for the professional version and was pleased the initial two months. I gave a two rating instead of one because I’m still hopeful. I experienced a problem 7 days ago with my webcam and the level 1 technicians who tried to help were limited. I was elevated to a tier 2. I was informed not to expect a call, but an email. No email at this report. I’m a professional counselor depended on video counseling during the in pandemic. This lack of response from GoToMeeting tech support has resulted in lost revenue. If no response is received in the next five days, I’m no longer a customer and will expect my monthly fee returned.

### 2/5 — Not up to Zoom standards

*2020-06-29, version 7.9.0*

The iOS app has poor functionality compared to the best of the competition. With the GTM app, you can see only 6 participants total (yourself as one of them) with no ability to scroll to see others. There is no option to view the Active Speaker either... all features that Zoom figured out long ago. Have also noticed that while the Windows app has more functionality, it is much less stable. I frequently lose my microphone with GTM in the Windows version. This has never happened with the Zoom or Microsoft Teams Windows apps.

### 4/5 — Appreciate GoToMeeting’s generousity

*2020-05-04, version 7.7.0*

GoToMeeting has allowed free use of their service to a non-profit utility that I chair during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is greatly appreciated as our meeting space is shutdown, even if we wanted to meet in person, but luckily we don’t have to. Thank you very much!
The app works well enough. I just wished is offered participant control features like in the full web client. Namely the ability to mute participants, as that’s helpful in a public meeting with guests not familiar with conference call etiquette.

### 4/5 — Works well for small groups

*2020-04-30, version 7.6.0*

We used GTM for first time to do a 2-hour review. It went well, despite having no prior experience. A couple of times we lost camera video (computer video stayed on) and getting colocated devices to not interfere with each other took some effort (mic & speaker mute controls would be very useful). But generally it was a good experience, if not as good as being together.
* An early 1-star review concerned inability to disable location tracking; however, GTM replied that the iOS app does not track location, so disabling is unnecessary.

### 3/5 — Want to like it but...

*2020-04-16, version 7.6.0*

I’ve used GoToMeeting a handful of times during the quarantine and have only been impressed once. The very first time everything worked well, but on the second attempt my mic stopped workin on my laptop. It works with all other programs, so I know it’s an issue in GoToMeeting. While getting that fixed, I’ve been using the iPad app. I have no idea why the screen is limited to 6 people and you have no control over who those six are. I thought I must be missing an easy way to see the other people, but after a lot of searching this seems to be the only option on the iPad. Why? This seems like a terrible failure if the app isn’t able to let you actually participate in meetings of more than 5 other web cams. At least it helpfully tells you who is speaking. However, this feature is white text on a light gray background and nearly impossible to read. This seems an accessibility issue more than a mere annoyance. Assuming I can get my mic to work again, most of my complaints are limited to the iPad app. But until this app is usable, I’ll be hoping my meetings switch to zoom.

### 4/5 — Best program for telemeetings

*2020-04-10, version 7.6.0*

Have used for years, I am responsible for helping our students to sign-on and even for those that almost never turn on a computer (yes, there are many of them out there 😄) I can easily get them signed on and ready to go. As with ALL programs, the more you use them you always have a ‘wish list’ but GoToMeeting has very few items that need to be changed... but since I’m here I’d like to request better support for showing videos, it worked in the past but newest updates require the presenter to ‘dial in’ to the meeting and have their phone on speaker while running the video for the participants to hear it, when that’s fixed it will be a ‘5+’ for sure. I was on the phone with tech support for over an hour and she and I ‘discovered’ this work around which has saved us so I am grateful to that tech for taking the time to help me find a solution. Easy to use and easy to explain to others, LOVE LOVE LOVE the program.

### 4/5 — GoToMeeting

*2020-03-29, version 7.6.0*

Usual problem with codes and passwords, symbols too. Was able to hear everybody and see several. Hopefully we won’t have to do this distancing too much longer, but the system certainly allows us to feel closer. And I figure that since the logistics have finally been worked out, I should be good to go in the future. Just tell myself not to play with the symbols, or I might get cut off again.

### 4/5 — Almost there

*2020-01-13, version 7.3.0*

I use this tool so often with my iPad Pro and keyboard and the updated screen sharing feature works really well.

One big enhancement needed - GoToMeeting Notifications are useless if you are accessing multiple Exchange calendars in Outlook/Apple Calendar. You get notified of every GoToMeeting in all the shared calendars even if you’re not on it.

With Apple Calendar notifications, I only get notified of the meetings in calendars that I have selected to view. So if I uncheck someone’s calendar to view, no more notifications. GoToMeeting should work in a similar way.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — doesn’t work, extremely glitchy

*2021-11-21, version 7.15.0*

Not sure what they have done with the app recently, but the app is useless on my Ipad. Menus are glitchy and they just twitch and disappear while you are on a call. If you click the button on the upper left corner that ends the meeting by mistake the app screen flickers and all other menu buttons freeze and no longer work. The call continues, but you can’t do anything. How in the world in 2021 after 2 years of COVID do we still not have functioning webinar platforms, especially on mobile. I am using an Ipad pro 2nd generation and completely up-to-date software iOS 15.1.1.

### 1/5 — Processor heavy, clunky, featureless

*2021-09-08, version 7.14.0*

I think many of the reviews are positive because of what apps like this can do, not specifically that this app does a good job compared to similar ones. It just happens to be an option when the whole world went remote. The app is clunky, without many features, and processor heavy. On top of that when I went to cancel my account, it said it was processing it but it was never processed and I got charged for four more months. They would only reimburse one of them. There are so many better options out there; don’t waste your time with gotomeeting.

### 1/5 — I have missed 2 meetings

*2021-01-10, version 7.13.0*

I received a text message saying that my counselor would call me within an hour for a meeting. Never got the call . I just happened to go to my email to find that she did email me to start a meeting but never called. My appointment was scheduled for 10am she began the meeting at 11:40. I just don’t like this program because an email is easy to miss when you are looking for a call which what was stated in the last text I received from this counselor. This system isn’t helping me and I feel she could have called because that is what was said would happen. I’m disable and I need all the assistance I can get due to this being a three way communication it is a hit or miss program. Which I feel is keeping me getting any assistance.

### 1/5 — It’s okay... 😑

*2020-05-07, version 7.7.0*

I think the app is nice and I can be a good app for small groups but if you want to have a big group with a class for school or something I recommend doing it on a iPad computer or MacBook... The reason is, is because if you are doing a presentation or something then it gets super glitchy. It also drops your battery down A LOT. So do not do this on phone, that’s only if you have to because my battery went from 100% to 1%. Another thing is that if you are on a phone, tablet, or iPad you can only see 6 people. All in all, i think it’s a pretty good app for sure... :/ :)

### 1/5 — Unable to make or receive regular calls without hanging up

*2020-05-05, version 7.7.0*

So before today this app worked great. I could use it on my cellphone and basically if I had an incoming call, I would be able to answer it and put gotomeeting on hold then resume the call when I hang up the regular call. Also, I was able to make outbound phone calls while on the meeting using the app and it’s not allowing me to do that anymore. I really wish they would fix this! Very inconvenient especially since I have to make calls to other people and cannot do so unless I hang up the meeting. Please bring back the feature of letting us make calls and receive calls while on the meeting and make the app automatically put itself on hold until we hang up our calls

### 1/5 — An unmitigated disaster.

*2020-04-16, version 7.6.0*

My employer forced us to move from Zoom to GoToMeeting, and it was a huge mistake.

My complaints are many! There’s no waiting room. Your only options are flood gates open, flood gates closed. And when your meeting is locked you can’t see who is waiting to get in! There’s no option to mute all participants automatically upon entering and even if you do mute all they can still unmute themselves at any time. And anyone who gets dismissed can come right back in! You can’t spotlight one video for all participants, and the audio and video quality are abysmal. If you record a meeting, you better hope it’s short because it will take absolutely forever to convert and save. And there is no way to turn off video mirroring! It might be unmirrored for other people, but that doesn’t really help me when I’m trying to present and read anything physical. The settings menu is laughable too. You can change the aspect ratio of your video and that’s about it.

Genuinely floored this platform has lasted this long. Maybe it’s because the market isn’t that big? Do people not know there are better options?!?

### 1/5 — BEWARE! Absolutely Useless For Months

*2019-12-24, version 7.3.0*

DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNTIL APP IS FIXED!!! The app USED TO be decent. It wasn’t great by any means, but I never experienced any real issues. However, the app has become completely useless. It is absolute garbage now. My meetings don’t show up (ditto for desktop app), I can’t unmute myself when I join meetings, and if I call-in to the meeting using internet, I literally cannot do anything, including unmute myself. On top of that, the incoming audio only decides to work in sporadic spurts where it is fine for a short while, then cuts out for a time. The app has become nothing more than an icon. It lacks any and all functionality. I reluctantly work with both the mobile and desktop apps every single day. These 5-star raving reviews singing praise are straight up fake. Everyone in my company has problems every single day. Without fail. BEWARE!

**Developer response:** Hey Cameron, we are very sorry to hear about your experience. Seems like you have issues on desktop and on mobile. Can you pinpoint, when the issues started? That would be really helpful. Otherwise, could you let us know about the device you are using and the OS version? Thank you very much!

### 1/5 — Useless for hosting meetings

*2019-02-28, version 6.14.0*

For the past two weeks I have been trying to use this app to host meetings and none have worked well. At issue is the requirement for the application to be currently active. If it isn’t the active application it will close your meeting entirely. This has made it impossible for me to host meetings from my mobile without risking shutting them down by simple using other features of my phone like SMS and email. I tried calling tech support thinking maybe Ive just got a setting wrong. Nope. This seems to be “as designed”. Also there is no way to set your default audio in preferences. It will always use internet calling rather than placing actual voice calls. So every meeting I join I have to rejoin using the “call me” feature

### 1/5 — Old and outdated

*2018-05-10, version 6.8.3*

We’ve used GoToMeeting for several years at my company. I’ve hated it since I came here. I’ve tried to convince the company to move on to a more modern and intuitive program, but these guys have never used anything else and don’t want to learn a new system. I’m sitting outside of a conference room where were having a company staff meeting and half of us are standing outside of the room because GoToMeeting is down (and no, it’s not on our end). We had an overflow room set up, as well as the TVs in the lobby ready to go with the meeting. Sure this may be a one-time-thing, but we have issues with the software daily. They can’t even manage to export their meetings in HD 24fps. That should be a standard.

### 2/5 — First Time user…

*2022-02-03, version 7.16.1*

It was ok, but maybe not the best tool for the intended purpose (a three-speakers-to-many-listeners interview/discussion). Some people who were supposed to be only listeners had microphones unmuted, which made for a lot of background noise that the speakers could not control. They said they didn’t have the ability to "mute all," which is surprising, as other competitive products do have that capability. And their repeated pleas for people to mute themselves either fell on deaf ears, or perhaps the participants were unsure how to do so. I myself found the interface less than user-friendly on that function.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2020-11-14, version 7.12.0*

I use this for everythjnf. The fact it transcribes my meetings and it can be searched I use it all the time for virtual assistants to have subtitles and also so I can search anything I ever say later. Also have meeting url that labeled whatever I want is awesome to keep all the different types of meetings that I always have going on separate from each other. They call this meeting rooms. But all it is is a separate URL for each type of meeting whether it’s my monthly council meetings or meetings with only the financial people etc. For some reason this review was all white text on a white background so I could not spellcheck it

### 5/5 — Easy to use platform

*2020-07-01, version 7.9.0*

I have been using GoTo meetings for all my organizational meetings lately. It’s been so easy to use, easy to share the invitation, and I especially love the calendar invitation capability.

While the meetings are in session you can easily switch off between presenters (sharing screens) among other great features. I like this app and the full web version because I am not a “tech” person and this platform allows me to conduct professional meetings seamlessly.

### 5/5 — Great Tech

*2020-04-29, version 7.6.0*

I like this because it is HIPAA approved and so protects our clients’ confidentiality, first of all. And while not as user friendly as some other apps, this has a lot of features that make this an effective remote videoconferencing program - once you figure them out. This seems to be completely intuitive for my younger staff members, and they seem to think this is extremely user-friendly.

### 5/5 — GoToMeeting helped keep our healthcare team safe

*2020-04-21, version 7.6.0*

GoToMeeting was amazing and quickly provided additional subscribers when needed to assure our small community hospital was able to continue to care for the needs of our community in a safe way during the COVID19 pandemic. We do appreciate having this great platform!
I’d like to also acknowledge Aaron Boss for being very responsive to our needs quickly and efficiently during this time.
We’re very happy with this product and what we are able to do.

### 5/5 — Thank You Go-To-Meeting!

*2020-04-12, version 7.6.0*

Thanks to Go-To-Meeting, I shared a wonderful piece of my Easter Sunday with my sister and brother-in-law, who are social distancing at their home 4 hrs from me, and my niece and her family who live on the other side of the country! It offered so much more than a conference call, or even my normal video chat. We were able to all see each other and watch a “slice of life, as kids came and went, during a fun live conversation that allowed you to see emotional reactions and feel like you were in the same room. It was a wonderful gift of togetherness!

### 5/5 — “Almost” perfect!

*2020-03-29, version 7.6.0*

I love the platform. Sound is great. Easy to use and understand. Only reason it’s not “ perfect” is because there isn’t a way to slide the screen to be able to see all the participants using video. I understand that the screen is too small ( using iphone) to see everyone at the same time but it would be nice to be able to slide through to be able to at least see all of the faces when I wanted to.

### 5/5 — Great for rainy days and busy schedules!

*2020-01-23, version 7.4.0*

GoToMeeting is wonderful on a day like today. It’s cold and rainy! I just finished attending a business meeting with 35 others. I was able to get to the meeting on time (always a problem for me!) and the 30minute meeting was productive and I could easily comment by hitting the microphone button or stay mute. All in the comfort of home, with my cup of hot coffee at the kitchen table.
GoToMeeting idea is especially good for people like me who are easily distracted. Our supervisor went over a change in policy using a graph and I could easily follow it...as good as a one-on-one meeting!
Many Thanks to Marketplace Ministries for using GoToMeeting!! Great addition to our workforce!

### 5/5 — First-time user found it quick and easy to use

*2019-12-18, version 7.3.0*

Today was my first time using the app, and I found it quick and easy to use. I literally downloaded the app while the leader was taking attendance, and was up and running (including viewing the leader’s PPT presentation) before attendance was taken! Once in the meeting, I found the navigation and controls easy to use and intuitive. Great experience!

### 5/5 — Fantastic, lightweight app, strong quality.

*2019-04-16, version 6.15.0*

Been using GoToMeeting for a couple of years. Downloaded and started using the phone app a bit more recently. I use it to communicate and share screens with my team around the world. Just finished a USA to Columbia conference, sharing work on 3D cad files in real time, all over LTE (cell phone) wireless connection. Once again, super high quality video, very little latency, and great VoIP telephony quality.

I recommend GoToMeeting and the app to new associates all the time. Couldn’t work productively without it.

Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Super easy to use!!!

*2019-03-12, version 6.14.0*

I had an important meeting I needed to attend today and was running errands/didn’t think I would be able to make it to an office with my laptop in time for the confidential meeting. Fortunately, the meeting organizer said she set up GOTOMEETING and it was available via smartphone. I parked my car, downloaded the app, and then attended the meeting ON TIME!! Quality was great and I could CHAT/see participants on the meeting/look at the slide deck, all from my smartphone! Very convenient and great quality!!!
