Gottardo Live shows you exactly what's happening at the Gotthard road tunnel right now — queue lengths, waiting times, official alerts and live webcams — so you can decide when to leave and which direction is actually moving. It's built directly on official Swiss data from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO / VMZ-CH), not a third-party scrape. WHAT YOU GET • Live queues both ways — queue length in kilometres and estimated waiting time, northbound and southbound, updated automatically. • 7 live webcams along the A2 and over the pass, ordered from the portals outward, with full-screen zoom. • Official alerts from the Swiss traffic management centre, grouped by direction and shown in your language. • Automatic push alerts when a queue forms, gets heavy, or clears — so you don't have to keep checking. • A 24-hour trend chart to see how the day is developing and spot the quiet windows. • Portal weather at Göschenen and Airolo. • Designed for both iPhone and iPad, with a layout tailored to each. When the official feed goes quiet, the alerts list and the direction cards now stay in agreement. • Waiting times published in hours, not just in minutes, are now read correctly — long queues are no longer underestimated. • Pull to refresh now always fetches fresh data. • Clearer trend chart: legend at the top, a distinct colour per direction and a smoother line. • Faster updates, with noticeably less battery and data use. ### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-01 This update makes Gottardo Live steadier on the busiest days: • When the official source falters or updates in pulses, the app now keeps the last valid reading instead of wrongly showing free-flowing traffic. • The 24-hour chart is now driven by a single, curated data series — no more misleading dips and spikes. • If the official server is overloaded (peak travel days), the app automatically retries. • Longer texts are now fully justified for easier reading. ### 1.1 — 2026-07-29 • Gottardo Live stays free and is now supported by a single banner ad, placed between the two direction cards. You stay in control of personalised advertising: the app asks for your consent and for tracking permission, and works exactly the same whatever you choose. • Clearer, more accurate traffic: queue length and waiting time now always come from the official Swiss (FEDRO / VMZ-CH) feed and are shown together.
