Gouda is small enough to walk across in twenty minutes and old enough to have hidden something behind almost every gate. Gouda Now is the app that tells you which gate. WHAT'S ON, RIGHT NOW See every event in town in one calendar — from the famous Candlelight Night to festivals, markets, concerts and theatre. Multi-day festivals appear on every day they run, so you never think you have missed one. Tap any event to put it straight into your own phone calendar, address included. GPS AUDIO TOURS Four walking routes with 30 stops, and the story starts on its own as you arrive. No buttons, no group, no umbrella to follow. Walk the six-kilometre loop through the old town, or take the long one out past the Reeuwijk lakes. Available in all ten app languages. A STAMP CARD FOR THE CITY Seventeen places to collect, seven badges to earn, from First Step to Master of Gouda. No checking in and no QR codes — the app notices when you arrive. Phone in your pocket, stamp collected. WHEN YOU CANNOT DECIDE Press the dice and the app picks somewhere for you. The settings wheel is now a fan you tap open. Spinning it fought with scrolling the page; tapping does not. The themes have been redrawn from the real thing: the stained glass now looks like the windows of St. John's Church, the stroopwafel has its actual waffle pattern, and the grape theme has been replaced by Candlelight Night. Pick your profile — family with kids, with friends, a couple — and get tips and activities that match. Earn stamps as you go. Pass a landmark and your stamp card fills automatically, complete with background info from Wikipedia. Navigate with one tap. Open directions to any place or event straight from the map. A fresher calendar. Past events disappear on their own, and you can add events to your own calendar in one tap. IT - Now in Italian too. The app speaks six languages and adapts to yours. Plus many refinements for a faster, smoother app. ### 1.2 — 2026-07-15 Version 1.2 Calendar & automatic events New Calendar tab — A brand-new screen shows all Gouda events in a monthly calendar view. Tap any day to see its events, or scroll through the full month. Automatically updated — Events from gouda.nl and goudabruist.nl are fetched automatically every week so you always see the most current city agenda. Improved map — All places and events are now visible on the map. Events use a distinct icon so you can tell them apart from places at a glance. Featured places — Highlighted spots now also appear at the top of the home screen. Automatic language detection — The app now detects your phone's language on first launch. Improved Game & Progress (stamp card and Gouda Pass) has moved to the Profile tab for cleaner navigation. Messages from the city are now automatically translated into your language. Countdown banner for upcoming events on the home screen. Various performance and stability improvements.
