But we also want to use our travel time well, and not have to spend half the day researching! GoWhee has made it so much easier to find fun places for kids near wherever we are in the world. Whether we're looking for a playground, nature trail, indoor fun, or something, GoWhee helps us find places and understand key things about them, like whether or not there's parking, restrooms, water fountains, and more. Whether you want to check out a new park or you're trying to find something for your kids to do in an unfamiliar city, GoWhee is the best travel app to find fun places for kids. ### 5/5 — Great for finding kid friendly locations *2022-04-25, version 1.9.2* The app allows you to find kid friendly locations asap, without having to spend a bunch of time sifting through reviews on other platforms. I’m super excited to easily discover new locations we’ve never heard of before and to see how the app only continues to be more useful as more users add locations in. You can see reviews that include useful information depending on your specific family needs. Overall pleased with the app so far and look forward to seeing how it continues to evolve over the upcoming months. ### 4/5 — This is the parent travel app I’ve been waiting for! *2022-04-11, version 1.9.2* GoWhee is a super handy app for parents on the go! We have been road tripping with our kids for 15+ years, even before Google had photos and details of the locations! It was always so hard to find a playground or place to run off energy with our kids. Even now, although Google has photos and reviews, it’s not always written from a parent perspective: it’s missing important details like whether or not there’s a changing table, whether or not the staff are “family-friendly”, whether there’s Wi-Fi and so on. GoWhee is a crowd-sourced app for parents that gives these kind of details so busy parents can make a more informed choice about a location before they arrive. Finding a playground when needing to let off steam is a lifesaver! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cannot make it past Login Page *2025-04-01, version 2.0.0.3* I was all geared up to try the app for their 3-day free trial. I verified my Gmail account, etc. Every time I went to log in, it’d bring me to the subscription page. If I x’d out, it’d bring me back to the login page which I had already logged into. If I selected the subscription again, it’d bring would give me a warning saying I was already subscribed. There was no way beyond that page. I am not going to sit around and screw with an app that won’t give me access. I’m sure you’ll figure it out at some point, but I don’t plan to return to the app. It was frustrating enough dealing with that. Not very user friendly if the user cannot get past that stage. ### 1/5 — Buyer beware! Misleading subscription *2024-05-05* This app promised a 3 day free trial but I was charged $5 right away, I didn’t get a free trial. Then, I couldn’t even sign in! The app crashed while I was trying to sign in, and it did that three times in a row. I wasn’t even able to preview any features because the app requires that you sign up for a pricey subscription right away. I love the idea of this app and hope somebody makes a community-driven app for families to find places for kids someday that is free to use with a subscription for premium features. **Developer response:** We are sorry the login is giving you trouble. Releasing our 2.0 very soon with all fixes, but in the meantime please write us at maud@gowhee.com so we can take a look at your account and get your access fixed. Thank you for your feedback. ### 1/5 — Eh 😒 *2023-06-08, version 1.12.1* For the price I don’t see this being worth it. It appears places listed are only user added. So not many places on the map. I think it is much easier and obviously cheaper to just google. I cancelled the free trial only mere minutes after signing up and seeing so few places on the map for large cities and none in smaller towns. ### 1/5 — Stuck in endless loop. Cannot sign in. ### 1/5 — Falsely advertised as free *2020-03-08, version 1.0.1* The App Store listing indicates this is a free app with in-app purchases available, but upon signing up you must opt into a paid subscription. There is a trial period, but this app offers no free functionality otherwise. ### 2/5 — Can’t even test it *2025-08-05, version 2.0.3* Downloaded it. Realized it cost money, singed up for the free trial, never got any emails and never could get past the login screen. So I took time to make an account and give all my info, but I never actually got to use the free trial. There is no way to route your trip.
