### 4/5 — Magnetic or True?

Great app. I use it often. Unfortunately there is no indication as to whether the bearing and course fields are relative to true or magnetic north. There is also no option to choose.

Please add "While Using" option in Location Services settings.  Most apps now provide that option and I prefer not to use Always on option because it drains the battery or is just simply unnecessary.  I only need GPS turned on when I actually have the app open.
As for any reviewer saying this app needs an Internet connection, they are wrong.  I tested turning off both Wi-Fi and Cellular Data and it works perfectly fine outside with a clear reception to GPS satellite.  Maybe they tried testing indoors or had Location Services for the app turned off. For me it works perfectly fine on my 6s.

I like this app when it works, but the iPhone 5S version often (on IOS 8.1) won’t turn on to work (blinking light). Often says locations services denied by they’re enabled for this app, on/off doesn’t change things, and often requires compass calibration. The iPad version works without problems.

First off, the other reviewer is WRONG!
Not all iPads have the gps chip...only the ones with the sim card/3G 4G has the gps chip.  I learned the hard way.
App is great and has lots of useful info.  I would give it 5 stars if it could show the satellite map or at least how many satellites you were connected to.

OK for free but didn't include what I expected, namely satellite info like what you would get on a PND status page, to see which satellites are locked in and which are not.  I would also like to change the format of the coordinates.  Add that and it's 5-star!

Am I asking too much to say that an app called "GPS Intel" should include things like satellite availability and location?

And yes, the app is free, but I gotta admit that the "blank-screen" ad interference algorithm is most annoying, and will cause me to stop putzing around with the app altogether if a 99¢ version isn't made available in short order.

Can not remove the supposed interference notice, even when not within 100 metres of any devices, also dont rely upon speed detection is out by about 5-7 kms, other than that can be handy..

After installing this app, I was worried about my iPhone because it became very hot in a couple of hours. I turned it on and found that the battery was very low. Then I read reviews for newly installed apps and found that this app kills the battery. I do not think that this app is supported, because in spite of fact that there were so many complains about the power usage, the last update was released a year ago. I do not really know how Apple allowed publishing this app in the App store, being so aggressive about the power usage by other apps (Flash player, etc.).

This app keeps the GPS functions active when it closed inactive, therefore killing the battery. Make an update that stops GPS tracking when it's not actively open and i'll give a better review.

This app has an information screen that explains why it cannot get location for iPad saying iPad does not have gps chip. That is definitely incorrect.. All other location based apps can get accurate locations on my iPad.

I purchased because it says works on Apple Watch BUT it doesn’t appear to AND it says make sure you turn off or you will keep using data But there is no off button and you have to turn off at settings and turn off map location services and turn off Bluetooth

I've been using this app for a few years and it's great to be able to see all available GPS data on the device. One improvement would be the addition of the GPS time as it can be different to the device time by quite a few seconds.

I have used this app for several years on iPad 2 and iPad 3. It has always worked fine. And by the way, the developer TELLS YOU that it can be a background battery hog if you don't turn it off.

Works fine now... Previous cessation was poor signal reception. App is great. Identify your homes exact location and stick it by the phone to give emergency services (especially if remote)..

I have an external GPS receiver that works with the IPad2 and this application tracks all of the relevant data quickly and accurately. I would actually pay $1 to remove the ads but that's not an option. Kudos to the developer!
