GPS Log is a location-first way to record your adventures. Whether you're backpacking overseas, or exploring your local neighborhood, GPS Log gives you everything you need to capture your travels, share your favorite places with your friends, and find your way back again!

1. GPS Log gets your location from your device in seconds.
2. You add photos, text, and tags (if you like).
3. Later, browse the list of saved log entries or search by text and tags.

Update July 2016: just when I thought the app had been abandoned, it gets an update to support the 6/6S/6+/6S+ screen sizes and some other fixes such as Open Street Maps works again, still as great an app as ever now it's been updated. Thanks developer.

Been looking for something like this for ages, allows you to keep a log of important locations along with notes and photographs and so much more, without the nonsense that comes with other apps like foursquare.

I am a photographer and I use this app for location scouting. It works perfectly and has all of the features and fields that I need for my database of locations. Update: this program made it so easy to create a "selfie" tour around my city of Pittsburgh, PA and was so much fun to post my pictures and locations information to Facebook. I also document and gather meta data on my yearly vacations in south Florida when I am using my film cameras.

I've traveled across Europe with this app and it has been fantastic for recording everywhere I've been and it lets me backup my locations online in case my device crashes. I also like that when I don't have Internet access, it lets me record the location using the longtitude and latitude of the physical address. I haven't tried the "share" function yet to see if my friends can see my locations but that's next on my list.
