For every order, at least RM2 should be given for fuel. I rent a GrabCar and pay RM55 per day. I earn about RM200 a day working 11 hours. Working 5 days a week, I make around RM4,400 a month. After deducting fuel (RM880) and rental (RM1,705 per month), I’m left with just over RM1,000 a month. That’s crazy — about rm 1k for working 11 hours a day? That’s not reasonable. Even without renting, it’s only around RM2,000 a month. My suggestion: charge customers RM1 for fuel and reduce the percentage Grab takes from drivers, then give RM1 per trip to each GrabCar driver for fuel. That would make it more worthwhile and help reduce the burden of fuel costs.
