New version has potential just have to fix a few things…… ### 3/5 — Love this but…. *2025-11-13, version 4.0* This app has worked fine for me for years and now, since the update I cannot modify the date in the attendance or assignment sections. ### 2/5 — Finally an update *2025-09-30, version 4.0* I’ve been using this app for years, primarily to record attendance for my college classes. I’ve always been very happy with it. The devs finally got around to updating the app, but unfortunately it wasn’t for the better. As others have mentioned the new color scheme is essentially no color outside of grays and white, making it nearly impossible to see. Time to look for something new. ### 4/5 — Great app, but now declining *2025-09-01, version 4.0* I love this app truly. I tried to email, tried to contact support, nothing is working anymore to contact someone. The issue is the colors on the attendance. I can barely see them, when before this new update, the colors were brilliant and I was able to distinguish between everything. Now it is just gray and white so it is hard to see that I clicked on the correct student. Attendance was the main reason I used this app. I sometimes still use to put in notes and grades for each student when I’m looking for a quick average. But attendance is what I use this app for. So even if you give us the opportunity to choose a color we want for attendance that would be great. I just have students type their names in so it doesn’t really matter. It is a basic grading program that does what one would expect it to do. Now, grades can mysteriously disappear and there’s no way to back it up to dropbox or other back up functions like you used to be able to do. So now, each time I enter grades, I email a great report to myself to keep as an archive copy just in case I need to look for things. I love it and it does everything I could ask for and then some. It doesn’t however update anymore, which makes it hard to sync with Drop Box and trust that it will always keep working. Would love for the developer to give an update or a comparable app. ### 3/5 — Very helpful *2018-02-02, version 3.10.5* I'd give it 5 stars if it could copy all the information of the student if the student is transferred to another class. It's a real pain having to re-type all the grades and attendance, especially if it's late in the semester and there is a lot of information. Also, can there be a way to enter "M" for missing? It would count as zero. Need to be able to print the student roster for substitute teachers to take attendance. ### 2/5 — Used to Be Wonderful but now... *2017-12-14, version 3.10.5* This app was amazing a couple of years ago. It was functional, easy to use, and flexible. I felt it was secure and I could back up my grades and databases with Dropbox. Now Dropbox will not connect with the app. I have looked for places to find help, but it looks as if this app is no longer supported. I cannot find any info on a newer version or help with connecting to Dropbox. I would try backing the app up with another service like Google Drive, but Dropbox is the only service that “works” with GradeBook Pro. I will have to find another app to use if this issue is not resolved soon. My grades need to be able to be backed up. If I were to lose this data my job could be in jeopardy. NOT HAVING A BACKUP IS A NECESSARY SERVICE. ### 4/5 — Still very good *2017-12-12, version 3.10.5* I'm a university professor and have used this excellent app for years to take attendance, record behavior, email groups and average grades. It is an indispensable tool for the teaching side of my job. Dropbox backup does not work (one star off) but it does backup to iCloud which for me is more convenient. Hope the developer continues maintaining the quality of this useful app. ### 3/5 — No more connectivity between GradeBook Pro and Dropbox *2017-11-05, version 3.10.5* I am a big fan of this application however, recently it stopped linking up to Dropbox which unfortunately is the only cloud service it allows for backing up grades, etc. One can no longer get help because the website for help is gone. I am unsure why this has happened but its unfortunate given that this application allowed me and those I recommended the application too to do many things when it came to grading. I will refrain from recommending it. By far its the most user friendly application that saves anyone submitting grades, reports, etc time. ### 3/5 — How the heck am I supposed to back up my data. *2017-10-17, version 3.10.5* The Dropbox link stopped working (this is from the Dropbox people-it hasn’t worked in months). This is the best grading app. Complete in every way and does everything teachers need. The reports are grade and backs up to Dropbox. Perfect! I have bought many of them here and they all lacked something I needed. Grade book pro does everything. ### 3/5 — Sad to see it die... *2017-10-05, version 3.10.5* This is the best app for teachers. However, it seems that they abandoned it since there is no updates or support. Someone mentioned that it seems that they sold it. If that is the case I wouldn't be surprised if another company bought it so they could kill it. Most apps require Monthly fees and this one does not. PLEASE COME BACK! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Attendance no longer works *2025-10-13, version 4.0* I have used this app for many years. It was a simple effective tool to manage my college classes. However, since the “upgrade”, the attendance function no longer works. It is no longer possible to choose a date to record attendance. I hope this can be fixed soon. The link to app support to report the problem doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Strange Update *2025-08-01, version 4.0* The thing that I noticed about a recent update is that in the attendance section, the colors for present (green), absent (red) and tardy (yellow) were changed to white and a light grey. This makes finding absences at a quick glance very difficult. If the new color scheme of white and grey are going to be kept, change the icons (check mark, an X and clock) so only the one selected is bold and the other two are not. At least this will help someone to somewhat gauge the student attendance ### 1/5 — GradeBook Pro *2018-01-12, version 3.10.5* Hi, I have used this app for a number of years and it has been rewarding with what it had to offer. However it does not function using Dropbox and despite numerous emails to the Developer I’ve had no response. I noticed that all the reviews are several years ago? Nothing recently. Until Eric Lombardo and someone with the support team get in contact I would strongly advise not purchasing the app or using another. I’m sorry but it’s not functioning despite numerous attempts to try and backup to other formats. ### 1/5 — Do not buy! No Longer Supported! *2018-01-07, version 3.10.5* I paid full price for this and have been dependent upon it for several years. But it is no longer supported, so it is a very risky place to keep your grades and attendance information, as it is impossible to back this information up in Dropbox or anywhere else. They are no longer updating it when IOS updates come out, so it is eventually going to stop working. What a nightmare it will be for anyone who uses it as a place to record their grades and then find the app crashing or nonfunctional, with no access to your grades. ### 1/5 — Support stopped *2017-11-18, version 3.10.5* Loved this but no longer supported. ### 1/5 — Save your $20 *2017-11-05, version 3.10.5* this app was fantastic until the developer refused to update it to conform to new dropbox standards, so now you cannot back up your grades in any meaningful way, making me happy useless. Save your $20. My old (5 Star) review is below. Another reviewer Mrs.G3 said that she would give the app 5 stars if you could copy a class and import the students into a new class (like a new semester or different subject with the same kids). You can do this. To import students: 1. Create a new class 2. In the new class click Manage 3. Click Roster 4. On the top right click copy 5. Click on the old class 6. Click Select All 7. You can uncheck any students you do not want to add 8. ClickCopy and all your students are now in your new class My only suggestion for improvement is it would be nice if there was a way to print all the student reports for a whole class at once instead of printing each student individually. If I could print all the student grade reports at once the app would be perfect. ### 1/5 — Death of a great app *2017-10-10, version 3.10.5* No longer works with Dropbox which renders useless. I think the developer has quit updating his app. ### 5/5 — Great tool! *2017-07-15, version 3.10.5* I really enjoy using this app to keep track of student progress. I keep all of my 3rd Grade assignments logged into this app. It gives me great peace of mind because I do not have to worry about misplacing a paper grade book; it all stays on my phone which I always have with me. The app developer is very responsive and helpful; he responded to a question I had about how to do something right away. It is a very basic tool, but so is a paper grade book. It is easy to enter assignments in and to take attendance! Very helpful and one of the best GradeBook apps out there. It is worth the cost. Never had a problem and has great features. That would save time at the beginning of each year. ### 5/5 — Amazing app *2016-02-26, version 3.10.5* I have been using GradeBook Pro for four years to keep track of student grades and progress in college courses, and I still love it. I use the app both on my iPhone and iPad (while there is no syncing that I am aware of, it is pretty easy to backup from one device and then sync the other device with that backup). It is an easy app to use, and it allows me to easily access student grades on the go. The app is also very customizable in terms of assignments, figuring grades, and keeping track of attendance. I also like that attendance and grades are kept in one place and that I don't have to remember to bring anything but my phone with me to class. One of the best features is how easy it is to set up categories and assignments with their assigned point values at the beginning of the semester; a progress bar lets me know if all students have grades entered for any given assignment, and percentages are shown by each student name so that I can easily see current grades of all students. Another great feature is that I can email students directly from the app--it has never been easier to share a progress report directly with a student. Yet another nice feature is that I can copy components from one course to another; because I regularly teach two sections of the same course, it is nice to only have to create the categories and assignments in one course. Once they are in one course, I can simply copy that information to another section without redoing the work. There are so many other amazing features, which is why I regularly recommend this app to my colleagues, and I recommend it to anyone who teaches and wants a digital grade book. ### 5/5 — Awesome teacher's app with split screen support!! *2016-02-26, version 3.10.5* This is a great grade-book. I use it to keep track of the grades and attendance for all my classes. It is well designed. The report generator and Dropbox backup/restore are great.
