Minor complaint that I have is my phone battery drains extraordinarily fast when using the app even if I am not scanning. In conjunction with this, the phone gets really hot to the touch. I have experienced this with my IPhone 12 Pro Max and a colleague has had a similar issue on an iPhone 11 pro max. ### 2/5 — Google classroom *2022-01-28, version 4.1.0* Every time I log in to grade cam mobile on my iPad, I have to go back to google classroom and authorize it. Then re add my classes to GradeCam. Even if I am using GradeCam numerous times a day, I have to authorize it every single time. Other than that I love GradeCam but this error of whatever is happening is enough to make a stressed teacher want to cuss. ### 3/5 — App is Problematic *2021-11-03, version 4.0.4* The app isn’t as good as the web-based version. I have to resend my Google Classroom classes every time I use it. Also, I can’t easily make a 2nd version without having to do a mapped variation version (which I don’t want to do). I’m annoyed that this “Lite” version available as an App doesn’t have the proper features that the web version offers. My school won’t fund grade cam so I’m paying out of my own pocket for the app version and it’s just not great… Maybe I’ll try Zip grade. ### 3/5 — Google login doesn’t sync *2021-09-14, version 4.0.4* The app works…mostly. I logged in with my school Gmail account and it says it should sync when I login to the app. However every time it says I have no classes. So I have to go to Settings/Reauthorize Google classroom. The go to Classes and readd my classes from there to begin scanning or to see data. Every. Time. (Sigh) ### 3/5 — Great app but... *2020-03-12, version 3.6.1* ...although I agreed to the monthly subscription I can’t get the handwriting recognition unless the district opts in? I can’t see myself paying for this because, as a math teacher, I needed the handwriting recognition the most. ### 3/5 — Great App, Battery Killer *2018-10-18, version 3.6* Wow this app is great!!!! But I used it for less than 10 minutes to scan some quizzes and it ate up over 20% of my phone battery!!! I’m glad I can grade from my computer since I have a webcam. Thank you, ~Donna ### 5/5 — Awesome time saver *2017-06-22, version 3.4.0* I've been using the Gradecam on my computer with my doc cam for years. It's changed my life! I'm very happy to have another way of using this tool in my classroom. I love being able to grade a quiz at each student's desk. The instant feedback it gives to me and my students is very valuable. ### 3/5 — So far... *2017-02-05, version 3.4.0* It has grad d 3 of my 120 papers... I get the same error on my phone as I do from my hard wired laptop. Error connecting with the server please check your connection. Well... my phone, home and work connections have all been checked and are fine! I sent a tech request and still haven't gotten a response 3 days later... Good thing I have a voice with the district on which tech we buy! The app doesn’t work well. Makes me nauseous when trying to scan. It’s a headache using the iPhone or iPad app. It was introduced to the faculty as “a no-hassle way to grade your scantrons.” Alternative facts. Akindi is better as I could feed the printouts into our scanner and get the results in seconds. Seconds! I have told our Tech Team that this app is worthless. ### 1/5 — Updates broke it? *2017-10-24, version 3.5.4* Scanning from phone is nearly impossible now. Using iPhone 8 Plus too. Even in direct sunlight. ### 1/5 — Scanning Score Cards *2017-09-20, version 3.5.4* Last year this was a breeze and exceptionally efficient. With the app updates, scanning now is extremely frustrating and time consuming. Faster to just hand score. ### 1/5 — Junk *2017-09-10, version 3.5.4* The app is junk. It is faster to grade by hand. You have to close the app after each scan or it won't scan the next. Not worth $.99, let alone $15 per month... ### 1/5 — Great Concept, No Performance *2015-12-18, version 3.2.1* This app would be an extremely helpful tool to increase efficiency in testing but it does not work on my iPhone 6 Plus, iPad, or Macbook. It seems that it worked for many people in 2014. I used it successfully in 2014 for a few times but did not need it until now in December 2015. I have not been able to get it to scan using any Mac devices. Developers, please fix this ASAP! It would be unstoppable if there was a student app that kids could use to take assessments (formative or summative) or even use as a clicker (SRS). Then I could truly go paperless!!! PLEASE DO THIS! :) **Developer response:** Thanks for using GradeCam. Now your students can, too! To begin the 2020 school year, we added an option for students to log in from the main screen. Any assignments you publish to the student portal will can now be accessed by students on their iOS and Android phones and tablets.
