### 4/5 — Love it but...

*2013-10-15, version 1.2*

I love Grammar Girl and I love the concept of her new app. I can't move on to level two because it keeps freezing in level one. I hope this is fixed soon so I can move on to bigger and better levels. Yeah!

### 5/5 — awesome

*2013-09-04, version 1.1*

I am so excited to use this in my class. The students will all have iPads, and this will be a great and fun activity to start class and for them to practice parts of speech!

### 5/5 — Another Hit for Grammar Girl

*2013-08-29, version 1.1*

Love the app so far, just hoping that Squiggly and Aardvark make an appearance

### 5/5 — Great Learning Tool

*2013-08-29, version 1.1*

I am an adult writer using this to brush up on my skills. Love everything about the game and none of it is as "annoying" as what a previous reviewer tried to say. If the sound bothers you just turn off the volume on your device, that usually takes care of the problem.

A great idea for an update would be to have global leader boards through Game Center. You could have two leader boards: one for the main score and one for the total amount of correct matches. That way people would play the levels over and over again just to add to their amount of matches. Then even when they are done with the game they would still want to keep playing to add more matches to their overall score.

### 5/5 — Ideal for SAT and GMAT prep

*2013-08-29, version 1.1*

As a test prep teacher, I plan to recommend this app to my students. It will make Sentence Correction problems a breeze. Levels are especially helpful to refresh and teach with a gradual ramp up.

Update includes a very welcome no sounds option.

### 4/5 — Love it!

*2013-08-29, version 1.1*

It would be great if you could have multiple players so that they could compete against each other. Not simultaneously but log their high scores. This is so great for the classroom my students love it. Thanks for such a great app!

### 5/5 — Grammer Pop

*2013-08-29, version 1.1*

I love this game! I'm a retired teacher with a strong background in English. Figured I knew everything...well, most everything about parts of speech. However, having grammar put into this context changes my mind set. Brings back the days when my English teachers had the students diagram sentences. I was probably one of the few that enjoyed diagramming. Let's do that next! Thanks for your time and knowledge in putting this game together and sharing with us.

### 5/5 — Heather

*2013-08-28, version 1.1*

I absolutely LOVE this game! My 6th graders have not learned their parts of speech very well. It just has not been taught like when I was a child. This game is amazing, and TONS of fun. I've had a great time playing it. It's addicting!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2013-08-26, version 1.0*

I love it, my daughter loves it, and you'll love it, too.

### 5/5 — Kids Tested...Kids APPROVED!!!

*2013-08-24, version 1.0*

My nine year twin daughters tried this game and said, "This game made learning fun. I liked the noises -- especially when I got it right!"

They planned for an hour before they even let me try. They liked the progressive levels and earning coins. We will be adding this to our daily home practice. I just wish they could use the earned coins to buy things like backgrounds or even real book! They would just love that.

This is a must buy for every parent who wants there kids to excel.

### 5/5 — Don't let one grump ruin the app's average rating!

*2013-08-24, version 1.0*

The fact that one person who doesn't like the app's SOUNDS, for goodness sake, has lowered everyone else's 5's to an average of 4 by giving a ridiculous rating of 1, is sad and silly. Hey Grammar Pop enthusiasts, let's do our duty. I've raised the rating to a 4.2. If you love the app, let your voice be heard. Write a review and give Grammar Pop a 5-star rating. We can quickly get the average close to the 5 average it deserves!

### 1/5 — Not working on iPad 3

*2013-09-25, version 1.1*

Love Grammar Girl, but this app's not working. Hopefully, an ISO patch shows up to fix the problem.

### 1/5 — You need to fix or update your app!

*2013-09-22, version 1.1*

It keeps crashing! Love the format but waste of money keeps crashing on the students.

### 1/5 — Game has an annoying feature. Sorry I purchased it since the sound effects can not be turned off.

*2013-08-24, version 1.0*

All the better App games permit you to turn the sound effects on or off. This game does not. When playing, you are forced to deal with a constant noise that sounds like water bubbling loudly (it also sounds a little like a muffled snare drum playing). That annoying sound only goes away (briefly) when you win at identifying a word, and then you must listen to a triangle-like computerized carnival sound. And if that were not enough, there is an actual voice speaking at various times (spurring you on etc).

All the sounds are invasive and make you realize that the creators have a dictatorial approach. You WILL play the game the way they want - no preferences are offered to you to customize the game, i.e., you may not turn off the sounds. Quiet, peace-loving souls of silence - Beware!!

### 2/5 — Why does it have to be timed?

*2020-05-15, version 1.3*

I really like this concept, but instead of me learning what I’m doing, I’m too focused on getting the right answer to hurry up and complete the round. I’m not learning anything this way. I want to understand the concepts of why it is an adverb, noun, adjective, etc. No where in the settings allows more time to be given or to just take it away all together. Kind of makes me wonder why I’m even bothering trying to play this.

### 2/5 — Crashy

*2013-09-25, version 1.1*

Seems fun but had to get through 6 crashes to even start then crashed again after level 3.

### 3/5 — Great app but...

*2014-10-23, version 1.2*

This is a great teaching app to engage students. However, it does not transfer from your Ipad to your Iphone. If you want to have it on both you must purchase it twice!

### 3/5 — Good practice, but

*2013-10-12, version 1.2*

There are a few errors. For example, in the phrase "spelling bee," spelling is certainly not a gerund! And she has "there" as a pronoun.

### 4/5 — Addicting

*2014-01-08, version 1.2*

Grammar, one of the few things I did well in at school. Making an arcade feeling type game with suspense included was innovative; a rarity where in today's video game market most rely on the sure thing. Cute girly voice-over too. Game Center or open feint would give u 5*.

### 4/5 — Fun way to remember grammar

*2013-12-08, version 1.2*

I enjoy this app. The game is a fun way to test and brush up on my grammar skills. Easy to use.

### 4/5 — Grammar Pop Pops!

*2013-10-17, version 1.2*

This app is a fabulous tool for reinforcing and reviewing the parts of speech. I do a similar review game with notecards and sentences, but this is very engaging. Many levels in order to challenge upper MS or even HS! Worth it!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2015-01-06, version 1.2*

I have had the app since it came out, but I used it today in my high school classes. My often-less-than-motivated students were glued to the game, trying to beat their own scores and get to a higher level than others in class. Grammar Pop made learning fun which is so rare in our high stakes testing world. Thank you!

### 5/5 — English teacher loves it!

*2014-12-19, version 1.2*

If you want to review parts of speech -- for any level-- this is a super fun game. Lots of levels of difficulty. Lots of prep and support clarifying parts of speech before playing. It is like my own English teacher is drilling me. Old school accuracy. My heart is still racing!

### 5/5 — Educational game

*2014-12-04, version 1.2*

This is a great game for education and the english language. It makes learning interesting as well as fun for a person of any age.

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2014-04-26, version 1.2*

I think this is a very good app for people who have a vested interest in grammar.

### 5/5 — Love this app recommended by Asperkids!

*2013-12-16, version 1.2*

Really fun way to practice parts of speech!

### 5/5 — Please integrate...

*2013-11-29, version 1.2*

...Winterfest with this original app. I'm not greedy, I just want one app, not two, so I don't want more, I want less, and I know from your podcast that you hate commas. I haven't played this game yet, but I value the podcast.

### 5/5 — Fun, thinking game

*2013-10-04, version 1.2*

This game is a fun way to exercise my mind without having to bother with strategies. Just enough thinking but not too much.

### 5/5 — Love GG

*2013-10-03, version 1.2*

I have been listening to, and buying the Grammar Girl books, so I am so happy to now also have an app for my ESL students!

Thank you for the app!

### 5/5 — Grammar Pop Rocks!

*2013-09-17, version 1.1*

I love this app! Grammar Girl, I heard you even wrote it! I am impressed (as always) by the breadth of your talents. My daughter, a tutor, watched me play a few days ago. She is assigning Grammar Pop play time to a student who needs grammar practice.
Thank you!

### 5/5 — Awesome & Addictive

*2013-09-09, version 1.1*

This is a completely awesome and addictive game. I love it, and I can't wait to use it with my students!
