And instead of asking about notifications up front, Gramps2 now offers reminders right where they make sense — in Upcoming Events, while you're looking at your family's birthdays and remembrance days. Stepchildren stay linked to their own parent and appear in a separate "Stepchildren" list on the stepparent's page — visible on the tree, but never mixed in with someone's own children. When adding a child, simply choose the partner they belong to, or "Only" the one parent. Added someone to the couple by mistake? Swipe the wrong parent on the child's page and choose "Remove as Parent" — photos, notes, and the other parent all stay. Questions or ideas? If your iPhone can't update to iOS 26 — or you simply haven't yet — this update is for you. The full app now works on iPhone XS, XR, and every model after, so more of the family can build the tree together. Also in this update: • Fixed a crash when sharing a large tree via Mail or Messages. Preparing the invitation can still take a moment for big trees — the app now tells you up front instead of leaving you guessing. • The search field is always visible in the people list and on the iPad home screen — no more pulling down to find it. • Day-based memorial reminders now count the day of passing as day 1, so milestones land on the traditional day of remembrance.
