## What is Grand Palais, Paris?

Have a look at all the exhibitions and all the events.  
Buy your Rmn-Grand Palais exhibition tickets and import them into the Grand Palais App. 
You'll be notified about exhibitions organised by the Rmn-Grand Palais directly in the application, as well as fairs and events organised by our partners.
Content allows you to enhance your exhibition visits.

How does it work? What are its features?

-A diary lets you know about all current and upcoming events.
-Enjoy direct access to the Grand Palais ticket office and import your visit tickets.
-The application also features listings for the cultural programme in the auditorium (conferences, concerts, films, etc) and the different spaces of the Grand Palais, around the exhibitions (live performances, events, etc)..
-Notifications (when enabled) tell you about important information and highlights so you can prepare your visit in comfort.

Get the most from your visit by choosing one of the proposed ways to go around the exhibitions, either free or for a fee.
There are various ways around the exhibitions for different uses and different audiences, thus diversifying the experience: 
Freeways around designed according to the themes of the exhibitions:
-the "Exhibition" ways around explain and illustrate the different themes of the exhibition;
-discovery ways around pick up on a theme of the exhibition and develop it;
-innovative ways around: these focus on a more advanced functionality: image recognition, for example. 
-fun ways around: these vary according to the themes of the exhibitions.

Audioguided tour for each exhibition is available for a fee, which has commentary on reproductions of the works with text and locations on the exhibition map, for adults. It can be downloaded, as in-app purchase, before, during, and after the visit.

Accessibility for the greatest number:
The application interface is designed for better readability of texts. 
Free audio description tours are available to the visually impaired.

Artworks you have seen can be favourited, and your notes be linked to your own photographs without leaving the application, then shared by email or via your social networks.

Très frustrant de payer 4€ pour un audio guide, avec l’audio qui se coupe lorsque l’écran s’éteint. C’est un peu la base d’une application générant de l’audio.

Lorsque l’audioguide est lancé, l’écran ne se met normalement pas en veille puisque l’app est active. Bien sûr, si l’écran s’éteint parce qu’il n’ a plus de batterie, il est normal que l’audioguide s’interrompt car l’app elle même est interrompue et l’activité du smartphone également.

So to further expand on the “white box with lines” review, me being really a masochist, I proceed and get the same thing.   After poking around like a toddler, I finally can access the hamburger menu and poke around until I get to the “import ticket” section.  It asks for the ticket number to import (not order number) so instead of keying in the 7 digit order number for all your tickets, you have to add the 22-digit ticket number. And you can’t copy/paste from your pdf you got via email. Jfc. So I key in the 22-digit order number, submit and I get the white box with lines.  After about a minute it seems to snap out of its stupor and show me my ticket with a choice to show the QR code or “add to tickets”, which I select and it proceeds to pull up the ticket and at the top it says if I’d like to add to Apple wallet.  I click the “add” button and the box disappears.  However it doesn’t add the ticket to the Apple wallet, which was the entire point of the exercise.

As noted by the other reviewer you get a blank popup instead of a login. Once that is dismissed if you want to enter your ticket purchase number it has disabled pasting so the entire 22 digit number must be typed in. I guess it’s ok if you want to see a schedule but getting tickets on it is not pleasant.

When I open the app and hit “English” a white screen either three lines appears and then nothing. I can’t do a thing. I even clicked on “French”, which I don’t speak, and got the same thing! What is the point of this app???

Elle est parfaite pour préparer sa visite. L’essentiel y est. J’aime beaucoup les parcours de visite. 
Le jeu de piste est vraiment bien pour découvrir le Grand Palais. Je la conseille.

Pourquoi mettre en ligne une app qui ne fonctionne pas?  L’app téléchargée ne dépasse pas la première page. Honnêtement, ce beau monument qui a fait sa mue aurait bien besoin de cette app pour orienter le visiteur. En outre, cette app aurait été l’occasion de clarifier la tarification fantaisiste des événements..
