### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2012-10-04, version 2.1*

Basic, simple. I would like to be able to number my gratitude rocks by numbers. Or just a have number feature. Maybe also voice command while driving, something easy to be grateful on the go.

### 5/5 — The individual pictures are perfect

*2012-04-09, version 2.0*

With 10 grandchildren and 3 more on the way, I have something to be grateful for with each one of them each day. The individual pictures bring Joy as I go back and review them and see their smiley faces. I love copying quotes, clipart to include too. Easy to use, even for a grandma, simple and keeps you focused on the good things in life, rather than all the negatives. I record 5 things I am grateful for every day. Perfect app!

### 4/5 — Peaceful

*2012-03-22, version 2.0*

This app has a very peaceful feel to it when you're chronicling the things you're grateful for. The sound of the waves puts you at ease while the background is a nice scenic view. I enjoy it.

### 5/5 — Great app - does exactly what you hope it does!

*2012-01-05, version 2.0*

I love Gratitude Rock. The UI is simple, there are enough options (as opposed to too many or not enough), it's fast, it's stable, and it's designed well. You can add separate entries for each day but that day can also extend into the next day, so all you night owls who start adding entries around noon will still be adding entires to your day (and not the next day) at 3am. I haven't used any of the backup features yet but they are there just in case. I don't know what else I would ask for honestly. Must buy!

### 5/5 — I use it for the little things

*2011-08-29, version 2.0*

It's so easy to be caught up in the drama and negatives in life, and this app helps me to stop, really think about my day, and list at least one good thing about it. Looking back at what I've written, there are so many things I'm grateful for but would have forgotten about. It's a great app for me.

### 5/5 — Life-Changing App

*2011-05-27, version 2.0*

Has a lot of features to customize it and has password lock to keep it extra private. Even the background, (optional) music and font size/color are great and make journal writing a personal experience. I started mine after Oprah's last show when she mentioned Gratitude Journals and I realized I wrote a lot about all the negatives in my life but little about what I'm grateful for. It's been an eye-opening experience for me!

### 5/5 — The best app I have :)

*2011-05-27, version 2.0*

I absolutely LOVE this app! I use it as my everyday journal.. It's perfect :) You get a great quote every time you begin a new entry and it always seems to be exactly what I needed to hear.. You can add pictures to your entries which is an awesome way to accentuate your words.. You can edit any entry at any time and it plays realistic sounds of the ocean waves crashing if you choose and it's so calming :) This is by far my favorite app! I wouldn't change a thing :)

### 5/5 — Perfect app!

*2010-11-18, version 0*

I am so GRATEFUL for this app! Like someone else said it never crashes. Lots of options to personalize it & lots of fun to read back on things that are sure to make you smile! I use it every single day 

### 5/5 — It's a wonderful app. Never crashes!

*2010-10-13, version 0*

I love this app. It fills me with joy to read my past entries and see pictures of moments that brought me great joy. Gratitude multiplies everything in our lives. Thank you for a great, simple, and reliable app. I am grateful for this app.

### 5/5 — All good

*2010-10-07, version 0*

I use this regularly. It is good to be mindful of things we are grateful for, and listing them like this makes it a mindful practice. There is something special about noting them, from thanks for someone's smile to gratitude for a paycheck to thanks for the ability to read .... This is a great ap for putting yourself in that attitude of gratitude.

### 5/5 — Serves my needs very well

*2010-09-28, version 0*

I use this app daily and am grateful to have it. It's easy to use and make personal. It's become a natural part of my daily routine..... It's hard to imagine NOT having/using it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2020-12-07, version 4.1*

Any time you tap on anything in the app it force closes 🥺

**Developer response:** Version 4.2 makes the app compatible with the latest version of iOS.

### 1/5 — Keep crashing with new iOS

*2020-09-30, version 4.1*

I love this app but it is not working since new update. Please fix. Thanks

**Developer response:** Version 4.2 makes the app compatible with the latest version of iOS.

### 1/5 — Not working with latest iphone update!

*2020-09-22, version 4.1*

I love this app! Would give it 5 stars except since I updated to the latest ios version the app crashes when I try to click on anything after I open it, so it is currently unusable:( Please fix asap :)

**Developer response:** Version 4.2 makes the app compatible with the latest version of iOS.

### 3/5 — It's ok

*2014-11-29, version 3.0*

I just prefer the journals that allow more then 3 pics for each entry. So as long as you do not need space for pics, it will be a great app for you. The font size is good, etc. It is really a well done journal, I just need to find one that allows mire then 3 pics. So most likely, you will enjoy this app.

### 3/5 — Good UI & ambiance, Backup is good

*2012-10-15, version 2.1*

Pleasant app with nice customIzations; makes you want to come back and use it again. Soothing, customizable background sounds is a great idea. The user-chosen wallpaper works well. And it is great to have a backup feature for all your valued entries. App has run reliably for me for 3 weeks.

Two Shortcomings:

• Viewing old entries could use a tweak:
To look up and review previous entries you have to tap the "+" for Add Entry feature. Then the "New Entry" prompt sits on your screen taking up space and being a non-comforting distraction.
(But putting in the tweak below would be a good step.)

• The app could also use a related tweak to the journal entries screen:
The rock plus the "Tap to Add" text needs to fade out like the buttons fade option. This will make reading the gratitude journal entries page much more pleasant, the view of the user's chosen background more clear, and the journal thoughts will seem uncluttered.

Competition Notes:
Some gratitude apps allow a photo (perhaps taken just before adding a journal entry) to appear within the entry or as a summary image tag/icon to mark the entry. Some variation on this capability would greatly enhance this app (could be a paid upgrade).

### 3/5 — Potential, needs more....

*2009-07-20, version 0*

I am a long time user (and non-user, lol) of gratitude journals. This has great potential and because of my vision problems, I would like more options. I bought this because of the photo, font size, color, type choices and they could add a lot. Unfortunately for me, most of the colors do not show up well enough on the photo. I also find that the glare on my ipod combined with the "shine" of the photo, make it very hard for me to read. Maybe a toned down photo, other photo choices or a background of different color choices. I think I like this better as I think color can affect and represent our moods. Also, it would be really nice if the app saved these choices so we could see how we felt on a particular day.
I have spent a lot of time by the ocean and this version does not sound very real, just grating. I love the idea of added soothing sound so maybe more options or allowing us to import a sound.
I would also love and option to tap once to keep the photos up and to remove the quote after reading it as I find it visually distracting.
Overall, a really great app and for me, a few tweaks would make it usable. At this point, I might just use this rarely and use my other gratitude app.

### 4/5 — Love it!

*2018-04-09, version 4.1*

Great product!

### 4/5 — Nice job updating

*2017-06-08, version 4.0*

Much much improved!

Could still be a bit more improved. Doesn't look completely finished.

However, developing a habit of noting things to be thankful for is priceless. I love it!

Best wishes on all your hard Work!

**Developer response:** The app has been updated on June 6, 2017 and is now fully functional on the current version of iOS.

### 4/5 — Awesome App!

*2013-11-08, version 2.1*

Does exactly what it says it will do - I love it! I especially love that I can add pictures for each day - helps me to remember to take pictures - which reminds me to be present to the gratitude in the moment as well - as I'm always looking for things to take pictures of during the day. The only the I would add is: I would really like it of there was a way to set "random gratitude reminders" throughout the day. So you could set how many times a day that a push notification would alert and say "what are you grateful right now?" That would remind me two or three times a day to add a sentence or two to my post. :-)

### 4/5 — A really nice app

*2013-01-01, version 2.1*

This is a great little app -- it's visually appealing, allows for storing 3 photos per entry, and can remind you to make entries. It isn't intimidating with a vast empty space -- but rather lends itself well to a simple list of short items, a la the five items for a Simple Abundance gratitude journal. Appreciated more each day.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Makes me grateful!

*2017-09-30, version 4.0*

This app is easy to use!. Very peaceful with the waves in the background!. Having it on my phone makes me take the time to write down things that I'm thankful for and see the "good in the world".

### 5/5 — The only stable gratitude app... and it's awesome!

*2016-10-20, version 3.0*

I have been using electronic gratitude apps for over five years. This one, is hands-down, the most stable and reliable app in the category. I have used other apps such as Gratitude!, and my journal entries disappear when I do updates, which is counterproductive to being in the flow of gratitude! Gratitude Rock tech-support has always been quick to respond on the one or two occasions I have had a question. I would love to see the interface look even more simple, and to have the photos I take scroll across the top of the journal like "the other one".😉 But I still love love love this app! Thank you!!!!

### 5/5 — A simple yet fantastic app!

*2015-11-10, version 3.0*

I looked at a number of journaling apps and found this one. I like that I can set it to remind me to put in an entry each day and I also like that I can add photographs. The background soothing music is also very nice. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2015-06-29, version 3.0*

This is a great app! Love to use it.
A few things I'd prefer on the current version: 1) when one taps the trash icon to have an 'are you sure you want to delete?' pop up as it's too easy to accidentally delete on any screen 2) preferred the old main screen to add a rock/new entry within an entry to tap one button (instead of now having to tap to see the list then tap to add entry.

### 5/5 — Very good support!

*2014-11-16, version 3.0*

The problem isn't fixed yet, but the support people are excellent, & I'm sure we'll get the problem fixed. Thanks so much for all the help!

Lately, it's been losing data. This is very frustrating. Argh.

The below writings were written in 2012.
I've made this app. my own, turning it into a journal/gratitude list. I also start it off by ranking the day, 1 - 5 x's, so I can see visually on the main page, how the days range. A, x x x x x Day was an excellent day. A, x x Day, not so much. Next, I put if it were Sunny or Rainy or whatever, with the temperatures. Then I jot down what I wore. (That way, i don't wear the same thing to weekly events; silly, I know.). Then I start in with a numbered listing for my thoughts, Gratitudes & things that I got done for the day.

I love the photos. And I love that we can backup, which I backup on my backup.

This is one of my favorite apps.

### 5/5 — superb app !

*2014-07-25, version 2.1*

is excellent in every way : easy to learn to use , multiple choices of backgrounds , Daily quote/ inspiration / allows use of own photos for use , settings are great as allow different color inks , backgrounds & I happen to love ocean wave sound for relaxation , always working , no faults , errors , speed bumps !

### 5/5 — Great App

*2014-06-26, version 2.1*

The App is easy to use: you can easily change the date if you need to add posts for a different date. The backgrounds are attractive and the sounds that play when you are adding posts are really soothing. This app does what it promises without overwhelming with a bunch of useless extras that could complicate the process.

### 5/5 — The key to happiness

*2014-02-20, version 2.1*

I love this app because it reminds me to record each day all of the people, events and things I am grateful about. Keeping a mindful attitude of thankfulness has brought me happiness, joy & less stress in my life.... So do I like this app YES! Do I use this app YES!

### 5/5 — Journal with Attitude

*2012-09-13, version 2.1*

I checked out all the other gratitude journals and this one is definitely the best!
The sounds of the ocean is perfect and relaxing. Love the ocean pics too.
Being able to download your own photos is wonderful too. Only wish there were more fonts available.
The added touch of the bullet points being stones is great.
Thank you for a creative and useful app.

### 5/5 — Helpful for Perpetuating Positivity

*2012-06-11, version 2.1*

It's wonderful to have a journal that points you in the right direction. Sometimes journals can be subjective to the pitfalls of reflection, which can be negative, but focusing on what we can be grateful for and learn from is productive in developing and evolving as a person!
