You cannot change your autopay you cannot change the access forms you cannot speak to anyone with questions. Not very helpful. ### 2/5 — Bare Minimum *2022-11-23, version 4.22* The app is functional in that they can collect your payments for student loans and upload documents. However, it acts as more of a quick portal for payments, but doesn’t expand into many other options. Even payments, if paying more than is owed, the user is unable to delineate what principals should be addressed with the additional payment. It is clear through the limited interface, lack of additional information, and overall scarce options that as a service borrower their ultimate priority is money, not the student. ### 2/5 — Something’s Missing *2022-09-30, version 4.22* App is simple and easy to use but lacks convenient features such as updating name or address changes. ### 2/5 — Needs Polishing & Other Fixes *2022-03-18, version 4.21* Please add an “associated domain” to the app, so that iOS can support password auto-fill apps like 1Password inside of your app. It Also, I’d love to see a modern UI update, and a new design language that reflects the latest official iOS design language look-and-feel. ### 3/5 — Okay *2022-03-09, version 4.21* It’s not great. If you need to change a payment you can’t do it from the app. ### 3/5 — Server Issue *2021-11-19, version 4.21* While I have no issues paying my loans through here, the app itself can be inconsistent because of the servers. I think Great Lakes should hire a team of people to prevent this from happening because I want to be able to view my loans without any issues. ### 2/5 — App not working *2021-08-11, version 4.21* I’ve used the iOS mobile app to pay and keep up with my loans for almost 4 years. I’m the past month, the app has stopped working. I can’t log in. Every time I try to log in (or even open the app) I get the message “We’re unable to connect to our servers. Please check your connection settings and try again.” I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled. I’ve restarted my device. I’ve tried everything! I hope you guys can update it to get it working again! ### 2/5 — Gives your balance. That’s it. *2021-07-05, version 4.21* The app is pretty useless. I can see my balances. That’s it. It does not display the interest rate that a loan was originally taken out with if your loan happens to be in a student loan interest freeze right now. It won’t even show when your next payment needs to be made or how much. ### 1/5 — Lots of color accessibility issues *2020-12-22, version 4.17* The new update changed the color for the bottom menu. This is really hard to read and for people who have color blindness this must be a headache. ### 2/5 — Navigation icons are difficult to see *2020-12-09, version 4.17* The app itself is fine, but they changed the color of the navigation icons on the bottom of the screen to dark blue on top of a dark grey background. This makes the navigation icons extremely hard to see and read. I imagine that this would be a major issue for colorblind people trying to use the app. ### 1/5 — App and website have been iffy for the last week *2020-12-08, version 4.17* Desktop site 405 error all the time. App? "Your session has expired". Can't get anything done. What up? It ain't like we can switch. Fix this crap we're paying top dollar for! ### 3/5 — For version 4.17 *2020-11-11, version 4.17* The app has always been functional for me. I can make payments and check my status at anytime which is a relief for me. The satisfaction of paying off one school loan at a time is excellent. However, I happen to be blue colorblind and can’t see the icons on the bottom ribbon. I know what they are from my experience with previous versions, but I would request a higher contrast between icons and background graphics. ### 3/5 — Overall good *2020-11-08, version 4.17* The app is overall pretty nice. Easy to see your account balances and submit payments. In one word unprofessional, in one word idiot, in one word hostile, in one word discrimination, in one word failures, they discriminate and instigate trouble and abuse of the customer. And after this bad review they will quote their policies that they don’t follow. It’s not surprising to discover discrimination by the employees. They can’t stop bullying, they can’t stop harassment, they can’t stop being a pejorative person. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2022-08-24, version 4.21* Boy, y’all really want this money, don’t ya? How about you come get it if you’re not gonna spend a few hundred to get your [cr]app working. I have hated this app mostly because it’s a reminder of the money I waste on “repaying” my loans but not once can I just log in. My only suggestion would be modernizing the design or the look of the icons and color scheme. I haven’t even needed to really get on the website because of it. It does all the things I need and it’s really easy to use :) ### 5/5 — Love it! *2016-02-11, version 2.4* This app has made my life so much easier! A customer service rep. mentioned it over the phone and it has made a world of difference. I was even able to snap pictures of my IDR documents and submit them that way rather than mailing them via fed ex. Many reviews for the app complain that you cannot view each individual loan's balance. Either Great Lakes listened or those reviewers were not paying attention, because I can see my loan amount in one big lump sum and also individually. Thank you, Great Lakes! ### 5/5 — By Far The Best School Loan Company *2015-11-03, version 2.3* I used to have school loans through several different companies. I decided to consolidate them into one loan. When I was given the choice of which company I wanted to remain with for my new loan, it was no question for me. Great Lakes has been the best company to work with, and they have always had the best customer service. Whenever I have any questions, they are polite, patient, and understanding. This app is just an extension of their great service! I can view my monthly payment, balance, historical payments, and contact them straight through the app if necessary. I have never had any issues with logging in or payments not being received. Overall, I am an extremely happy customer. Even though school loans are never fun to pay back, I feel confident that Great Lakes is the best company to work with as I pay them down! ### 5/5 — Wonderful!! *2014-06-04, version 2.2* This app made making my student loan payments a lot easier to handle. I always forgot about making my payment until I got this app. It's super user friendly which is great and you can keep track of what you already paid. The only things I wish were different were A.) if you make a early payment like I did this month that the "next payment due" would change to the accurate date. And B.) it wouldn't take so long for the payments to go through, but I'm sure that's not something they can fix, it just messes with my bank account, and that's irritating :) otherwise, GREAT app :) ### 4/5 — 3rd party payments don’t appear in payment history *2021-01-08, version 4.17* The app keeps me up to date on my loan as far as information and interest goes but I prefer to pay through my banks online Bill pay. These payments do not display under payment history in the app yet it notifies me that the payments have posted. I have to check the website to see them in the payment history. ### 4/5 — Basic but depenedable *2020-04-15, version 4.14* This your informational; quick glance; make your payments; view payment history,app. But it is a MUST have app. Plus see your balance and payment breakdown for interest vs principal. ### 4/5 — Solid App *2020-03-15, version 4.14* While you can’t do everything you can do online, the app is simple and easy to use. Since me and my wife have more than one servicer, I can compare it to other apps.
